Not only having the longer fg experience, Justin also has the advantage of having been fighting hard fg bosses in his streams. Including God Rugal and KoF 94 and 94 Rugal, who are even harder. So even though unintentional, he was much more prepared than the others for this fight.
you know, this boss may have been more free than his past self, but we all can admit he's probably just level 1 and there's gonna be way more, harder bosses being added later. can't wait tbh
@@Coswalker27 I mean, Geese is being added next, and he's obviously gonna be added to the boss mode. And they can't have only two, so that means more is definitely gonna be added. That or maybe they are gonna keep adding free dlc bosses, that would definitely"shatter all expectations"
It's not as simple as asking just anyone to test fighting games because they're popular or talented. Besides you know how many fighting games are out there?
Didn't they do that with Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid? And like, the AI can infinite you even when playing on Easy... If they gonna be learning that shit from him, I'd say keep him out lmao
They don't even need to have him recover health between rounds or high health, just make his boss only super gain back like 50% health, and make it a lv1 super
He is a fun fight but he not breaking your controller or fight stick difficult. I feel like they are testing the waters to really see if players especially new players want a hard boss fight. Because new gamers complain about that Darksouls and Elden Ring are too hard. So I feel like SNK has gotten feedback just like that. Either way I don’t see it as a let down. It’s free, a fun fight and content for beating it.
I say it is still disappointing because of how his boss form was marketed. He is basically a mid level AI (which is poor challenge for 90s SNK standards) with just overly buffed damage, and op punishers granted by the super chain mechanic (super into another super). But overall he is weaker than past versions.

It just the gaming landscape change from arcades to now playing them within your bedroom. Bosses back then were design to steal all of your coins. So their no reason for them to continue to make bosses like that currently. Which is why certain boss fights were a let down lately.
Yeah they didn’t make this Rugal EXTREMELY difficult like his 94 version. Which imo is good because that would probably be absolute torture. But, it’s not like this dude isn’t hard. Justin did make it look easy however.
He's isn't hard. Like you saw within this video you can manipulate his move and cause him to whiff his genocide cutter given you a free punished. Meaning he's alot predictable to beat then his older installed of him.
probably the reason why Rugal isnt THAT hard is because SNK tried the game to be accessible to much more casual audiences (since even the game is easier in general too) by removing his health regen and button reads.. i mean in the end, its still SNK boss, and SNK boss really bad reading grapplers.. i beat him with Mary first try just spam the slide grab and parry grab over and over
Rugal is stronger and harder than Bison but no way he is more popular. And Bison is a big player in the whole franchise, while Rugal was only the canon boss of KoF 94 and 95, and appeared in KoF 98 and 02 which are non story/canon games. He is a staple boss but without actual regular appearance. It's more similar to Heihachi, who isn't a regular final boss in TK but it's forever the staple boss. Also about popular SNK bosses I think Rugal is still below Geese. He is a super popular char and a regular boss appearance in FF (like Bison).
Give him way more health, have him block and counter more, and regen his health after every round. Boom peek Rugal. No infinites, I don’t want another Igniz YET
SNK didn't make him a quarter eater like before on purpose, because there was no reason. You already bought the game. The best thing about KOFXV is Omega Rugal can be updated to make him harder.
Look at the difficulty of the actual boss, and the boss of KoF 14. That shows SNK nowadays is softer, very differently than in the 90s. (Mainly in the early to mid 90s) In fact KoF devs are getting softer gradually since the 00s to this point.
Suggestion: Panda could challenge Omega Rugal from KoF 98 or, even better, Omega Rugal from 95. That's an actual challenge for fg pros who recently beat even God Rugal. That's a proper progression from that fight, not this new Rugal.
Seems like same as Otoma-Raga, just got some painful counteractions and punishing you for mashing, but not anything good in terms of actually wooping your ass
Funny thing is, this Rugal has all the tools to be a nightmare _(that armored super alone is proof of that)_ , he just need his insane health pool back, regain health between matches and to block more and he'll be the most terrifying/annoying Rugal out there (not counting the Mugen ones)
Not always he has a 2nd phase. In fact only once in KoF 94. Anyways I think the idea of keeping his notorious boss cape from KoF 02 was like: he doesn't need to take it off.
I have to agree it’s mad easy. I’m not even a pro gamer and I beat it on my first try. They should’ve reduced the amount of damage he takes and have him recover health just like the classic games.
Damn. I guess every youtuber or streamer out there didn't play og kof 98 rugal. Just cuz his Omega version was busted doesn't mean his regular one wasn't.
I think that they will improve more Omega Rugal difficulty in future XD They are getting players data for make him more invincibile in future i bet lol
To make him harder, give him massive defense and infinite supers like 96 Goenitz, and punish all your attacks that whiffed or hit. (Even if it's a jab)
you need to understand this is not the arcade this is a home consoel. so no point in Rasing up the difficulty. because the arcade is base on quarter eating machines so ofc they rasing up harder level
