Personal preference I think the new tank looks o.k and the reason for chaging it but prefered the original tank , looked more old school , but if your happy great , keep up the great work it's coming together ,just remember all these little problems you deal with make it so much more enjoyable when you look back after the build is finished and if it was easy, everyone would be doing it 👍
well, it's not quite what you'd expext on an old scrambler but it does go with the lines of the front mudguard. So all i can say is I apologise for sowing the seed of doubt with the first tank! Hey, but its all good. Great experience and no one goes into a one off build and just sails through! Peace and love brother as always ✌️ ❤️ 🙏
I liked the first tank but I admit the 2nd tank looks good if you can get it to fit and keep the full lock , keep up the good work oh and the first take at the beginning with the mower made me chuckle , brill comedy moment 🤟
Certainly an improvement, i think you can still do better. A tank of an early road trail that is more teardrop shaped should solve the front problems. Keep up the good work.
Have just found your channel. Specials are never easy (I’ve decided). Having similar problems to you, but in other areas. Do you weld? If so you can do much better than those cheap and cheesy headlight brackets; home-made, using 10mm or 12mm tubing and some flat steel plate. You have lots of threaded bolt holes on the fork clamps to fix a really nice, unique, headlight and speedo mounting. I’ll be watching how you go with this, to see if you’ve ideas worth stealing! Thanks Les, i dont weld yet, but plan to buy a welder and learn fast. I agree the brackets can be improved and expect to run through several variations before its finished. 👍
I did prefer the other tank but then I am into classic bikes so I like the more rounded style but you've got to go with what you like on your bike. I see some panel beating coming up to get the fork clearance! Incidentally my Ducati 750ss had 'adjustable' fork stops, long grubs screws with lock nuts in a threaded hole in the yoke stop tabs, maybe worth a thought?
