Hadn't only been three Bachelorette seasons (you said four) by the time of Brad's first season (Trista, Meredith and Jen)? If I believe the producers were so upset that the third Bachelorette Jen Scheft did a pre-Brad Womack by choosing not to get engaged nor picking a clear winner that The Bachelorette was suspended only to be relaunched after the public rallied for DeAnna Pappas find love after being dumped by Brad?

@@MikPenguin There's like a 10 season gap between Brad and Peter. While Brad was vilified, he was ultimately right to not propose if he didn't want to. In the span of time between Brad and Peter, the audience has grown and likely become more progressive and realistic. So Peter should have handled it the way Brad did because, despite the judgment he got, he was correct.

Even Hannah didn't seem like yes I'm going to marry this man, She thought YES! I WON the show. At least Jenni & Deanna seemed like they wanted to marry.

EXACTLY! some have proven they can fall in love with the premise of the show .but most of the time you can't cause you have cameras constantly rolling and kissing a bunch of other contestants.

You're not crazy. We can't all be attracted to the same guys, Thank God! Beauty is subjective. 😃 I thought Brad had something more than being handsome/masculine. He was gentle and kind, and I thought really listened and was sincere, not an egotist or arrogant or dismissive. I could be wrong but that is my impression. On the other hand, some people think Nick Viall, Ben what's his name, Jason Mesnick, Colton, Jed and both Lukes on Hannah's season were cute to name a few I didn't find attractive.

@@tinat9486 that makes sense! People tend to become more attractive to us when they have a nice personality, manners etc I guess thats where the hype is coming from with him! Because he doesnt look much different from a lot of the guys Ive seen on the bachelor and they werent hyped up.

Brandon Breuer yeah in the first season the girls talk about how they don’t want to kiss in front of other girls etc. It seems like the social norms about what makes a woman respectable were more relaxed on his second time around.

If so, I would guess it's due to the changing culture of the show, and the expectations of contestants on the show and people who apply to be on the show, and not anything to do with broader societal norms. Nowadays, no one would apply to the show unless they were comfortable with the pda.

Richard Doan not just PDA though. In more recent seasons you see them talk about sex and other “taboo” subjects that they never would have. I just think Brads second go is when we start seeing that shift.

I remember being shocked at his decision from the first season, but not thinking he was a horrible person. (There are other Bachelors who have made me angry/disappointed more). I'm glad we got to see an update on how he's doing now. Honestly, I thought he was going to be single.

That's right! They should have shown that twin part! I agree that he was very communicative and sensitive and respectful in all conversations and breakups. Emotional maturity shows through (even owning difficult words).

I thought it was nice that he asked the women he dumped if they wanted to say anything. The other bachelors I’ve seen basically say, “It’s-over-can-I-walk-you-out” like they’re scared the woman is going to rip them a new one.

The fact that the women all say he's amazing (including Chantal!) right after he's broken up with them says a lot. And I noticed, at the very least for Ashley H. & Michelle M. he was direct about concerns. He really valued them for who they were but knew w/ Ashley H. that every time they talked about their futures, they spoke about them separate from one another, meaning it would be a challenge to share a future together (her career and his businesses would keep them apart). And with Michelle M. he noted they were "too much alike," and they would get caught in loops of stubbornness with neither side compromising. But he still deeply cared for them and wanted each person he let go to be able to say what they needed to say, too.

@@sorachicken I agree! He broke up with a lot of people, but he allowed for nice closure and respect in all of them. (Sort of rare, I think anyway).

No shouldn't be force to propose marriage to someone in two months. That's too soon to propose marriage to anyone regardless it's on reality TV or in real life. It should be a rule that you should get in engaged in two months after meeting them. But look at shows like 90 Day Fiance and Married At First Sight. Some people our desperate and needy to be marriage or have a title but don't wanna work at it. As one my friends it's easy to get engage but marriage is work not such a fairytale.
