Tokyo Drift has always been something of an oddball in the Fast and Furious series, but it did introduce Han to the franchise. The fan-favorite character seemed to be killed at the end of the film, but fans were delighted to see him return to the franchise in some installments that took place before Tokyo Drift chronologically. However, now it has been revealed that actor Sung Kang will be returning to the franchise in F9, and there is all kinds of speculation about how Han survived. Let’s take a look at one theory about how Han returns in Fast and Furious 9.

@@vikinghammer87 Wrong. (PG13 cars, not PG13 comprehension skills, Nice try) Han was not killed in Tokyo Drift. Flipped over and suffering doesn't count as dead. Showed a car in the way at the scene of the explosion. By time Sean got to the car. Han was already gone. Never showed Han in the car when it exploded. What "happened" was through Sean's view and believed he died and so he went on to tell Dom his news. Dom arranged an event in honor of Han in the states, not a funeral. Han was still in Japan. In the F9 trailer, Letty and Mia were in Japan, most likely to retreive Han after hearing of his survival.

I think that might be logical but after a while, I don't think it would actually be logical because Dom is probably the one who took Han's body back to the US in Furious 7 so he can get buried there. Even if it wasn't Dom who did it, it's probably someone who knew about Han, so they couldn't be mistaking Han for someone else, but I guess something like that has a very rare chance of happening but I doubt they did took the wrong body. I think they might've brought Han back to life.

No, it wasn't. And Paul Walker wasn't in Tokyo Drift. The yellow RX-7 used had a Veilside bodykit. The Toyota Miata on F9 is orange. They should've used a Lexus LC500, a better looking car, or used an FT-1 Concept clone

It's tiny car in which shrunken from the original FT-1 Concept and they slapped the "Supra" name on it. It's no more than a new Celica or another Miata with a hardtop. If you knew cars, or actually watched the FnF series, you would comprehend its meanings.

Plus I’ve been losing much interest in the F&F series over the year and even though I’ve watched the previous movies...the last time I was given a Wow effect from the F&F series was in Fast and Furious 6 and guess what buddy...Han was in it!

All is not forgiven for Han yet. That's why the whole Justice for Han thing started. The Shaw Brothers should be dead for what they caused in 6 and 7. However the Cipher mastermind aspect introduced in 8 changed everything. Still unless Han confronts Deckard and they can shake hands I am one of those fans that want be able to fully embrace Shaw as a good guy.

sorry .... but Deckard went for the kill (Han) ...and Deck isnt a person that does a poor half-a$$ job .... so im pretty sure Han truly died... NO matter how they spin it... BESIDE that a vindication story? Deck was already good in last movie, so IF he left Han alive, he would have told it there and then.... dead is dead...period ... and bringing someone back JUST for marketing is a low blow and big fail

Realistic doesn't matter when they've been topping every film over and over with stunts and new bad guys. That's just the way action movies are. The cars are better now, and so are the fight scenes.

Probably when the car went up in flames, he didn’t die right away, but perhaps suffered multiple burn marks. When paramedics found him, he was barely clinging to life, and from there went into rehab, probably under a different name. Now only coming back some time after all the skin treatments have been finished.

Han was not killed in Tokyo Drift. Flipped over and suffering doesn't count as dead. Showed a car in the way at the scene of the explosion. By time Sean got to the car. Han was already gone. Never showed Han in the car when it exploded. What "happened" was through Sean's view and believed he died and so he went on to tell Dom his news. Dom arranged an event in honor of Han in the states, not a funeral. Han was still in Japan. In the F9 trailer, Letty and Mia were in Japan, most likely to retreive Han after hearing of his survival.

Han was introduced into the Fast series in that short spin off film directed by Vin Diesel Los Bandeleros the second spinoff explaining what happened to Dom after the events of the first fast film. Turbo Charged was the first very short film that explained what happened to Bryan after the first film going into the second.
