Music - "I've Got You Under My Skin" by The Four Seasons
"I've Got You Under My Skin" is a song written by American composer Cole Porter in 1936. It was introduced that year in the Eleanor Powell musical film Born to Dance in which it was performed by Virginia Bruce. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song that year but lost out to The Way You Look Tonight. Popular recordings in 1936 were by Ray Noble and his Orchestra (vocal by Al Bowlly) and by Hal Kemp and his Orchestra (vocal by Skinnay Ennis).
The song has subsequently been recorded by hundreds of artists including Bobby Caldwell for his 1999 album Come Rain or Come Shine.[2] It became a signature song for Frank Sinatra, and, in 1966, became a top 10 hit for the Four Seasons. Swedish singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry had a European hit with her reworking of the song for the 1990 Red Hot + Blue charity album.

I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I've tried so not to give in
I've said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist when darling I know so well
I've got you under my skin
Sacrifice anything, having you near
In spite of the warning that repeats
Don't you know you never can win
Use your mentality, wake up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
Oh baby under my skin
Baby, baby you under my skin
Don't you know that each time I do
Just the thought of you makes me stop before I begin
Under my skin
Never win, never win
Never win, never win
No no, never win, never win
Never win, never win
No no, never win, never win
Never win, never win
No no, never win, never win
Never win, never win

I always loved this old 60s song... but I heard online that it was really about shooting up. At first, I thought that was crazy - such a beautiful song. But as I re-read the lyrics, it made sense. What do YOU think? I've got you under my skin I've got you deep in the heart of me So deep in my heart, you're really a part of me I've got you under my skin I've tried so not to give in I've said to myself this affair never will go so well But why should I try to resist when darling I know so well I've got you under my skin Sacrifice anything, having you near In spite of the warning that repeats Don't you know you never can win Use your mentality, wake up to reality But each time I do, just the thought of you Makes me stop before I begin Oh baby under my skin Baby, baby you under my skin Don't you know that each time I do Just the thought of you makes me stop before I begin Under my skin Never win, never win Never win, never win No no, never win, never win Never win, never win No no, never win, never win Never win, never win No no, never win, never win Never win, never win
