Previously parachutes were basically useless - now they are actually great. The build-mode really is designed around you hovering around with jetpacks and navigating the terrain means either building ugly structures everywhere or having a jetpack. No more - the new mechanics to the rescue. Well i still wish they just gave us a glider and maybe some wind/thermals to cover height and distance.

I started playing right after update 8 came out, and got the parachute way before leg. It was my main mode of travel for my first 50 hours lol

Yep, the ground effect in Satisfactory involves the ground. It does make moving around the map fun.

Reminds me of old school CS surfing.
