Not even 'despite the film'. its a shame that comedies often aren't viewed through a 'serious' lens, cause actually, really, this movie (as well as many other 'silly' comedies) is up there with the greatest movies in so many respects. The cinematography, subtext, complex psychology expressed in the most subtle gestures...

If you read Seth's book, you'll find out how Kim's death was originally way gorier but they had to cover the entire shot in fire to appease Sony - which is why you see the head explode but only just

That last song reminds me of a teacher I had for an university course, he really had a lot of energy and he used to play rock/metal songs in the beginning of the class. Let’s be real here. Kim Jong Un has *definitely* seen this movie. There’s no way he hasn’t. I would have given anything to see his live reaction to watching it for the first time.
