The blade is a modern control racket, pro staff is classic control racket, shift/burn are spin rackets, ultra is power, clash is comfort. Each Wilson racquet fits a distinct category.

Did you playtest both whit overgrip? There is a overgrip in 16x19, that ads 5-6 grams to the handle. So you kimd of customized it headlighter. 😊

Nice vid. The blade v9 is comfortable for sure. Also stable.

Great review, I’d just like to ask if the 16x19 is good for flattening out the shot, some rackets like the radical and, surprisingly, speed mp make flattening out shots easy (low launch angle probs). The pure strike 16x19 and my extreme tour is too launchy and I wonder how this one is. Thanks again 👍

Nice review! Could you please describe how the Blade and Ultra pro you reviewed previous are different? They look quite similar in shape in specs.

They are actually very similar in feel and swingweight. It's hard to differentiate the two. This is why I said I feel it's hard to pinpoint how the Blade differentiates itself from the rest of the Wilson lineup.

Good review. How would you compare this Blade V9 vs. the 2015 version (V5) or the Countervail (V6)? And yes, please review the latest Pro Staff 97. Your channel is one of the best for honest tennis gear reviews.

The V5 was head heavier but very stable. If you could swing it, the V5 was probably the best Blade in the modern line up. The COuntervail version was too muted for me. Never really like any of the CV rackets. And thank you for your kind words.

@@opencourt808 Thanks for your input. There is also the V6 re-release without Countervail. I've never tried it, but from what I read online, it's very similar to the V5. I don't like the later Blades because they are too muted for me.

I've tried both Wilson 98 v9 Blades as well as the Head Prestige Pro. I'm curious to know which racquet you prefer/think is best. I have a customized Pro Staff v13 (added weight at 12, 3, 9 and in the butt cap. Not as heavy as the RF) and love it! People told me that the Blades and Prestige Pro plays like a Pro Staff, so I wanted to try them. Which one did you enjoy most?

Honestly, I enjoyed both. The previous editions of the Blade and Prestige were head heavy but the new editions felt head lighter. But quality control is an issue so I may have gotten an underspeced version. That being said, I like the Prestige Pro more because it's an 18x20

Well the 3 16x 19s I just bought have a SW spread of 7 units. Unstrung weights and balances r close enough that it’s tolerable. I was gonna select the 2 closest in spec but now I’m just keeping the 1 in the middle with unstrung swing weight of 290.5. The other 2 r 287 and 294. I heard they’ve tightened up their QC on weight and balance but swingweights not so much. Couple weeks ago I used a tenniswarehouse demo that was heavy on SW I measured 330 before dampener. Tenniswarehouse spec is 324. So they can be kinda all over the place. Heads r no better. Just glad I got my SW machine so I can measure

My 2 Blade V9 16x19 have exactly the same weight and balance, down to the millimeter and gram

I’m not a fan of the new paint job. The v8 is an absolute beauty and great overall. The new would have to be tons better for me to consider adding to my bag. I will demo at some point just for kicks.

The V9 is so beautiful in real life It's the British racing green of the Aston Martin, chosen by Tsitsipas who has a beautiful model, he explained in a recent interview
