Is This Polyglot Really Fluent in 6 Languages? 

So, his Spanish was good enough. Needs a little polishing, but good. He won't have trouble in spanish speaking countries. His Portuguese is what we call Portuñol. It needs some serious work, however, he will be understood, even though he may have issues understanding most uncommon conversations. Same will be true for Spanish. It's fair to say that he's actively learning German, however, the term fluent is a far cry. He did mention this himself, however.

Majority of claimed polyglots do not speak at a B2+ level, which is basic fluency.

As a native Spanish speaker, I think that his Spanish is pretty good, especially the pronunciation and the speech melody, but we only heard a few simple sentences. It's not enough to accurately assess his level of fluency. He would also have to write a text and show his grammatical knowledge. I would say he is probably a B1 level, but his pronunciation is almost perfect.

I insist: When are we going to see these so called "polyglots" speaking the languages they claim to speak fluently with native speakers in extensive conversations to be exposed so that people would realize how little they speak, if anything at all. There are a lot of "polyglots" out there who are not what they claim to be. Sad but true. Even sadder is the fact that people praise these individuals as if they were better than the rest. Pathetic. 😂 Each day, more and more people have started to doubt the self proclaimed polyglots. It is well known now that you can search a few phrases on the internet, listen to a few Pimsleur audios, and read a script, and voila!! You're now a polyglot fluent in different languages. Come on people. 😂😂

ask him what the word is for "spark plug", or tell him you have steeped in dog shit and need help ... These are ACTUAL things that i NEEDED when i was in France for 3 months. It is such a vast claim to say you speak fluently that it is impossible to make the claim

he doesn't quite speak fluent Portuguese, very badly, maybe A2-B1. By the way, his german is also bad. I speak fluent German, English, Portuguese (really fluent).

He did OK....let's be fair .! German was ropey . 7 / 10 !

The German and Portuguese were terrible, more A1 than anything... Spanish was passable but not great, either. B1 with an accent that doesn’t know if it’s going Spanish or Latin American yet.

Hi, i speak fluently Italian, German, Swiss German, French, Portuguese , Brazilian Portuguese.

IMO the English is acceptable. The French is decent and the German is atrocious.

His german was very bad in terms of grammar and vocabluary. The pronounciation was good though.

He might be B1 in French but hardly more than that
