Hey fam, Happy new year and happy new month Enjoy Stevie Ray Vaughan - Life Without You “Live” (Reaction) love you all xoxo • Stevie Ray Vaughan - L... Link to the video #stevierayvaughan #lifewithoutyou #stevierayvaughanReaction
Couldn't believe he was holding that guitar upright with one hand while playing the fret. You know how heavy those the things are? Made everything look so effortless. So much power. Stevie was a force of nature, don't think he could have been anything other than what he became. BTW... The expressions on your face are so telling, at some points I thought I was gonna see tears because he was playing so beautifully, and you felt that more than once. He made that guitar talk as he walked with his back to the crowd. Saw a video of this song performed to a rowdy çlub crowd, could see in his face that his words were falling on some deaf ears. He looked pained, but didn't stop delivering that message of his. You are loved, Stevie, we heard you! 💔💙. ☮️ to all.
Stevie Ray had a severe drug and alcohol problem and he almost died and he ended up getting getting help and after he got help this is the kind of way he started speaking to the audiences and how he showed up in sobriety on staged and in his life it was beautiful and he died sober that was beautiful too
One of the best and authentic reactions I've seen on RU-vid , everything you said about this performance to the Greatest Guitar Player of All Time, was on point. To me the words he spoke was just as amazing as his performance. Keep up these great reactions, you have got a new subscriber .😀
I loved this reaction, and this is one of Stevie's best performances of Life Without You, I cried when he died and I played this song. Some things, the guitar swap at the beginning, of course the music, this is the best 'dialogue' part for him doing this song. When he played with his teeth, he broke a tooth and kept going, you can see you saying that at the end. You are beautiful, and a lovely soul. I loved your reaction.
@@roselynadesola566 you would have loved it! I saw him play with BB King, John Lee Hooker, Joe Cocker and his band Double Trouble. Best concert ever! ❤️
keep in mind this was shot in 1985, prior to him nearly dying while on tour in Europe I believe. he then went to rehab and from that point forward became a big anti drug proponent and prided himself on his sobriety. He urged his audiences to stay away from drugs so you can be there for your brothers and sisters when they need you. His playing was even more crisp and mind blowing prior to his tragic death in a helicopter accident. he truly was one of a kind and certainly one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar.
Yes, GRAB Yourselves by Where IT HURTS Really BAD, And YOU Have to say I need Help.THIS is not Right for me, is what his Sol is telling us, and passing it out to 👁️😇
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The next morning was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was Eric Clapton, SRV, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!
I just always want to add that his Father and brother were both alcoholic, too-it had nothing to do with his being a musician,,he was an AMAZING virtuoso despite that fact.
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats **Texas Flood at El Macambo** **Tightrope at Austin City Limits 1989** **Mary Had a Little Lamb at Austin City Limits 1989** **Leave My Girl Alone at Austin City Limits 1989**
I've heard people say Stevie Ray Vaughan showed off but his concerts were not cheap and I would have been upset if he just stood there and sang and played without doing any of his talents so he loved his fans and gave us our money's worth and then some bit I totally understand what you mean being a huge Stevie Ray fan myself for over 40 yrs hes an Absolutely amazing man GOAT
One of my top 5 artists ever because of his soul and talent. Wasn't in it for fame and fortune. Just wanted to be the best he could be and influence the world for the better.
👏🙌‼️ I loved your great reaction! I have the same reaction no matter how many times I have watched this. I think it is my one of my top 3 favorites. How does he do it? Equal parts of God given talent, enormously large hands, passionate love of music, and non stop playing since age 7 to completely blend with his guitar. He can make sounds on the guitar I have never heard before! So many suggestions to offer for more but I will offer just one. Since you mentioned the piano player, you should check out "Couldn't Stand The Weather" from this same concert at the Capitol Theatre. He is to the piano what Stevie is to the guitar. I love forward to you doing more reactions to this most amazing artist✌️🦋🎶🎸‼️
Thank you so much Harriet . You really paid attention to my words and I love your response It amazing to see one person display so much talent with so much professionalism while enjoying it I will check out the Piano player . 💕💕💕thank you once again
@@roselynadesola566 thank you for your response✌️🦋 and you are correct, such professionalism and ease while having a blast doing what he was on earth to do.🎸 was why he was so mesmerizing and captivating because he can't play without being swept away himself and he takes us all with him. Total commitment on full display. The performance I suggested,Couldn't Stand the Weather, features Reece Wynans on piano but it is definitely a Stevie Ray song. Enjoy🙂 also forgot to mention that Life Without You was a song Stevie wrote for his good friend Charley Wirz, Dallas guitar shop owner, who passed away suddenly. Charley built that white guitar for him that he was playing. Did you notice the guitar switch at the very beginning?
Stevie Ray wasn't only the most talented, skillful guitar player to ever live. He was the SMOOOOOTHEST dude ever. He had a way about him. He had a swagger. People didn't LISTEN to his music, they FELT his music from within through every fiber of their being. He was one with his music
Knowing that Stevie Ray's life was not an easy one starting from a little boy who had an alcoholic abusive father that his brother Jimmy said took it out on Stevie worse than him and he never knew why, to fighting through drug and alcohol addiction ( coming from an abusive home myself we attend to turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain) and for Stevie to become a beautiful soul. I heard you say the Bible says so, he's friend that owned a guitar shop where Stevie went said Stevie would come in and he would get out his Bible and they would have a little Bible study there in the shop.
Hi there Roselyn. I hope that this comment finds you Well & at least reasonably Happy too. So, did you even notice that he switched Guitars? If you were to watch this again, SRV starts this song out playing a dark brown guitar and at about 2:00 minutes in his crew help him switch to the White Guitar, that you will then see him playing at about 2:45. This White Guitar has a Name and that name is "Charlie." There's a lot more going on here than meets the eye. Stevie Ray had a close and long time friend that passed away, whose name was "Charlie." SRV wrote this song for this friend and that's who he is speaking with, during this song. Now, SRV's friend, "Charlie" hand built the White Guitar for SRV and that's why it's important that he play this Guitar, for this song and that's also why this Guitar is named "Charlie" as well. So, when you see the Back of this Guitar, you'll notice that it has a graphic on it and this was put there by "Charlie" because it meant something to the both of them. I just thought that you might appreciate knowing some of the background reasons for this Song and so many other things, within it. SRV would pass away himdelf 5 years after this concert. He died in a helicopter crash, after a concert in 1990. Keep Smiling Roselyn... Cheers...
Thank you so much This is very detailed and thoughtful and yes I just noticed . Good to know about Charlie as well So sad to know we don’t have them with us again It’s amazing the length people go for their skills Thank you once again
@@roselynadesola566 Roselyn, you are of course welcome. I would like to thank you for your response. This often seems to be "The Road, Less Traveled" for most. I suppose I understand, to a degree anyway, as it does involve an extra effort. I simply would like you to know that I appreciate your efforts here. Once I had learned of all of the particulars that were taking place in this performance, it profoundly changed my perspective on this performance and I thought, by your reaction, that you deserved to know all of these things that go into making this a much more profound performance. Oh, by the way SRV actually lost a tooth while he was hamming it up a bit, playing his Guitar with his teeth. Directly after loosing his tooth, you can see & hear him say into the microphone, "Thanks Charlie." So, until our paths cross again, I wish You all the best that this Life has to offer. Keep Smiling... Cheers.
To answer the question of ...'How did he play so well and without seemingly 'no effort?' ' It took a million hours of practice + 100% passion and all of his soul wrapped up in humility! SRY was one of the most HUMBLE guitarists who ever lived and graced us with his brilliance! Long may his LEGACY! Oh and I loved your reaction to watching him live!
Stevie is the greatest guitarist of all time. But his band doesn't get much credit Tommy Chris and Reese we're the best of their trade also. Most talented group of musicians ever put together
So many people disagree and say that Hendrix was the best.. With the utmost respect to Jimi and the amazing talent that he was, I also must say that Stevie was the best. I just personally think that Stevie had a certain... Precision about his playing, that Jimi didn't have. That's just my personal opinion 😁🤘
In the beginning he was pointing to his guitar tech wanting that guitar. He named all of his guitars and the white one that he switched to is named Charlie: it was custom built by a luthier/ good friend named Charlie, i don’t remember his last name. This song was a tribute to him written after he died. Most footage you see of life without you he plays that guitar: I like your style, and I’ll keep watching
I actually work this show was at the Capitol Theater in Passaic New Jersey how was the stage hand and while the band was on we hung on the sides of the stage amazing performance
He wrote the song for his friend & guitar tech Charley Wirz after he passed away. Charley made the white guitar called 'Charley', & it's the one he uses when playing the song he wrote for him.
Love the reaction. If you had any idea how hard it was to play No. 1 or Lennie like on this video. His strings were as stiff as angle iron and almost NOBODY can play these guitars. His hands were freakishly strong and broke the neck of one guitar on a studio session I believe
Amen. So many that have never read the bible say it preaches hate. When in fact, the message is pure, true, edifying love. Even for our perceived enemy. I was lost in ignorance, and an enemy of Jesus, until he saved me. Had mercy on me, and showed me the truth. Love. And everyone deserves the same chance, that I didn't deserve. Forgiveness. Mercy. Love.
Hi,he was one of the few greats like Jimmy page, Jimmy Hendricks, bonnie raitt, Lita ford and lenny karvits just to name a few. That are beyond legendary.
This song always chokes me up. The first time I heard it, I had lost a close friend to suicide. At 17 that was hard to comprehend, with so many questions.
i am going to tell you how stevie does this.....all you have to do is ask just one question and the question is.....how do you get to Carnegie Hall? .....and the answer is....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!!!
