i was really thinking about which one to get and ive watched multiple videos and yours was easily the best when it comes to making that decision. 25L for me.
Great review on the bag. Seems like it'll be easier to carry around with it's smaller size. Never realized the handle in the back was for luggage. Will be great for travel!
Nice backpacks. The slick design has omitted pockets on the exterior (aside from the water bottle holders). McKinnon went for the look, over utilitarian usefulness. But the interior is very impressive. Small thing, but I love the little diver in the padded partitions for the camera grip. Who else does that? And man, I wish all my backpacks had that one feature. I think these are nice, but priced higher than they should be. Especially when you consider all the accessories you may wish to have. Everyone has an opinion on which brand they favour, Lowepro, Peak Design maybe. I’ll throw my hat into the ring for the Think Tank First Light 35. It’s marvellous we have so many great choices! Thanks for doing up a great review.
Excellent review and comprehensive analysis of both awesome backpacks! The main reason I use the 35L is for wildlife photography where I need the longer Nikkor Z 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 zoom. The 35L accommodates the zoom attached to a Nikon Z8, whereas the 25L would not. Both are very high-end build quality!
Great review! This was really helpful in deciding on the 25L as an Everyday Carry (EDC). It works well for weekends or vacations too, pairing nicely with the Sling version of this backpack to offload some camera gear, while using the backpack for clothes or other items. Cheers!
On the storage of the telephoto lens, did you consider moving some of the smaller items in the mid (second) level to the top, or to the pockets, and making room for the telephoto lens inside the dividers?
With some rearranging yes it's definitely possible to fit it in! I was more in shock that everything fit at the time to actually shuffle the items around 😂
Love your video. Been waiting for my back pack for almost a year now. Amazing how much gear u squeezed in there.. I own the PM 35ML bag like u do.. we use the 35ML PM backpack anytime we need to take more then 1 camera, it is a large and heavy bag even empty. Nomatic is now telling me late May. This was originally scheduled to arrive in October or November. Not cool nomatic!
Thank you! I hope you get your bag soon! Yeah I know they had a ton of delays and I had several trips at the end of last year that I was planning to bring this bag on but didn't get mine till recently. Hopefully it's all sorted out soon and everyone will get theirs!
Like the side by side views. Purchased 30L Peak Design everyday backpack yesterday. Padding seems a little insufficient. Put some stuff in to ware it around and my back was getting very warm and i was not moving around much (indoors, getting used to the feal). 😮 Can the 25L pads that rest next to T shirt be vented better?
The padding on the 25L isn't much better but because the bag is lighter and smaller it does vent better. I do agree, when I bring these around especially for hiking it gets pretty warm.
Does it concern you that the straps are attached to the back access or latch of the backpack. For example if the zipper fails it will just open dropping everything inside? Or is very strong?
It is true that the straps are attached to the back near the zippers but the zippers and back are strong enough that I don't believe it should unzip or have issues. Though only time will tell haha
I pre ordered the bag. Does anyone know of how long it’d take to get here? It’s been about a month and it doesn’t have a shipping tracker or anything 😅
@@hoangpham haha hopefully another thing that sucks is that on the site that was linked under peters video it says it’ll most likely arrive at the beginning of 2022 but then some say not till October and some say other it’s very confusing and need a new bag soon since mine has been falling apart 😅
There is a Nomatic email under updates on the kickstarter page to get info on orders if you want to check that out. Hopefully it comes before yours falls apart! 😅
