I have been asked many times to put this reel to the test out on the water and here it is! I put it to the test and see if this would be a good reel for everyone from just starting to experienced anglers. is this reel impossible to backlash? you be the judge!!

*Used this today for first time **enjoyable.fishing** recommend caught four bass with it, it seems to be a solid reel so far. Very smooth and cast like a dream. I think its a good value.*

I just go this reel on Friday spooled it up with 12lb fluorocarbon on a 7' IM6 med hvy fast action tip. took it out today and was getting some incredible casting distance with a 4" curly tail worn texas rigged with 1/8 weight. I had 2 minor Backlashes casting about 45* into the wind had the centrifugal set on 2 and mag on 3 when I cast into the wind after those backlash I res the mag on 6 no lash at all. eventually as I got the feel of the new reel I was casting 0 mag no thumb I was elated came home and ordered 3 more

Line has a lot to do with it, use a 20lb braid at least. Mono will free spool it more, backlash more often. When I went to braid made all the difference

See i fell in love with my leaders. But the other day my fg knott grabbed the eyelets and my lure went reallly far...problem was my line wasnt with it🤣

@@terribleatfishing I tried brade 15pound I legit got back lash every cast thumb control smooth cast back lash nothing I could do using this same exact reel I don't understand how much line and what line to use all I want is a line I can use for everything that doesn't back last like crazy I don't care about having the perfect line for one specific think just want something is is okay with everything

There is actually no damn way this is legit I have used 15 pound braid if I put my reel on a 2 and didn't use my thumb holy crap you would have the worst back lash ever I don't understand how you can do this with the same exact reel and I can't? I must be missing something

A weightless senko is easy to cast, with any baitcasting reel. I have a couple kastking reels. I can't complain for 40.00. They get it done. Good customer service.

Any reel will do that if you tune it probably to your bait size!

I think you might need to adjust your reel and retune it. As long as it’s tuned properly anyone should be able to get the same result

I have gone on Amazon to find the casting Spartacus plus as you stated in your video. Amazon offers a lot of kastking Spartacus reels but I saw nothing that said casting Spartacus Plus. Could I have more information on the real what exactly is the wording I would look for in Amazon there are many that Shay kastking Spartacus kastking Spartacus another name kastking Spartacus another name so what exactly am I looking for

it is very possible to backlash a Spartacus Plus. I know, i have one. ,iTS A 40 DOLLAR REEL AND YOU ARE GETTING A 40 DOLLAR REEL.

It's a 40 dollar reel, that is a shit ton better than my $200 abu garcia reel 😂 It's not the reels problem that you don't know how to tune it in lmao

I love mine. Tune it right and you won't have any problems. Great reel for beginners or advanced baitcasters.

I'm awaiting my Spartacus+ ordered from Kastkings AliExpress store and I'm curious about how to set it up for lite to medium-lite lures (.25 to 1 oz). With only some youtube research I think it's safe to assume I want a lower setting on the centrifugal brakes and use a medium to heavy magnetic brake as needed. The reason I think this is because the centrifugal brakes slow the spool in the beginning of the cast. In my experience backlash happens late in the cast, not early, so I'm thinking let the spool freely spin early and let the magnetic brake slow it down gradually as the cast comes to an end. Thoughts?

I have mine for a while now and love it, actually i buy the ceramic hybrid bearings and a carbon fiber handle to customize it and make it look way better, you can look at them in AliExpress as well just search for abec 7 bearings and the measurements you can copy them from the boca page 😂😂😂

ok, then i guess 2 oz would work also perfect. my spartacus plus arrived today, i spooled it with line but on the left side of the spool he puts more line then on the right side. How can i avoid this? kind regards

Wouter Huyssen make sure your line guide starts off in the middle of the spool. Also make sure the loop is on the center of the spool.

Nice video! Can you show or explain how do you adjust the tension knob?

I would love to! I first tighten my tension knot all the way and set my break to zero or no break. I then start loosening the tension know until my bait starts to drop. Now when it starts to drop you want to let the bait hit the ground if when it makes contact with the floor you get a little bit of loose line in the spool it’s to loose and you need to tighten the tension knob. If the line stays tight you are in good shape and you can even loosen the knob a little more to see how much play you can get before it is to loose. After you have found the sweet spot you set your break to your preferred setting and there you are!! Now when casting if you are getting back lash when the bait starts falling and hitting the water you need a little more break. So adjust your break as you fish!

Thanks! By the way, do you know the weight of the weightless senko you show in the video? I am having some backslash problems when casting 1/4 oz. kastmaster, using the same reel with 20 lbs. kastking braid.

DNDFDV1995 Actually they Male the Caius B which is 79.99, and you can get used ones for cheaper, and if your just looking for the cheapest reel, then brand doesn’t matter. But I would rather spend 30 bucks more for a reel that will last 10+ years

No man. The onlt saltwater approved reel is the spartacus maximus. Spartacus plus can be used for salt but its definitely not sw approved. Treat it well washing frequently and it should be fine

The only saltwater approved reel in their baitcasting line up is the www.kastking.com/kastking-spartacus-maximus-metal-baitcasting-fishing-reel_p0134.html (spartacus maximus). This one's the link for the spartacus plus. Just hope this dude doesn't walk away with a reel that's made for freshwater and go to salt and wreck his reel mannnz. www.kastking.com/kastking-spartacus-plus-baitcasting-reel_p0214.html
