I believe it's called a "Chinese Ollie" because this trick is like a fake Ollie since you don't do the same movements to do a real Ollie but still pops you up, and Chinese products are usually fake or just a remake of another product (not completely sure but seems a little reasonable)

I heard it's called the Chinese Ollie because SF's China town has really bad sidewalks and that's what skaters started doing to get past them. So it's named after Chinatown.

It got that name because it was first seen by most skaters in the Bone Brigade video "The Search for Animal Chin", who was (somewhat obviously) Chinese. Watch the video, you'll see Cab, Hawk Lance, McGill and TG doing them as they skate around China Town in San Fran and several other places. This video came out in 1987 when skate videos barely existed, so we rarely got to see tricks in motion, just still photos and the occasional sequence in the magazines, which is why none of us had ever seen a pressure nollie (aka Chinese nollie) before. No photo editor was going to waste space on something that barely qualified as a trick. edit: So no, it isn't racist, it actually has a legit reason to be called that (unlike some of the bogus reasons given by others in these comments).

Bryan is probably right. You can find tonnes of knock of products in China. So that's probably where it stems from. But I really don't think Chinese people would mind the name, or the reasoning behind it. Because in China, "copying" something is almost a kind of art. They have a copy of the Eiffel Tower, and a part of Paris. They have a copy of a Swedish lake, and a part of the town that's next to it. Students copy good papers and turn it in to their teacher, and get a good grade from it. I feel like calling the name Chinese Ollie racist is like saying Swedish Massage is a racist term. Or Black Friday.

To me a nollie is bouncing your front wheels off a crack (air with no-ollie). We did it that way because the nose wasn't long enough to actually touch the ground (late 80's). Now what are called nollies are really switch fakie ollies.
