In my opinion the ZIP countertop RO is best from what is available today. It has the best load and tanks design and more compact. We process 4 to 6 gallons a day (2 to 3 finished gallons) and ours has lasted us 3.5 years so far with the original filters! I test it every year with two different TDS testers and it still has a 92% TDS rejection rate! Our well water has around 700ppm TDS. It always completes a cycle within 17 to 19 minutes. It loads easier from the front and fits on a tight corner of our counter better than any other brand would. Plus you can set stuff on top of it. It may use more water but that's good because it rinses the filters better that way, which prolongs them. You do NOT need to change them on a set schedule. Test tap and output with a cheap pair of $15 TDS meters and replace when rejection rate falls below 85%. Be advised to treat the outlet handle gently and clean out the tanks once or twice a year with soap and water and then vinegar. Our handle pivot pin broke and I had to fix it with a small nail and bent it on one end to keep it in. Now it won't break again.

Thank you. Great video. I've read a bunch of Amazon reviews saying that the Zip will leak water if water is left to sit in the purified reservoir. Have you had this experience? Do you have to empty the purified water reservoir as soon as it is done filtering? Thanks.
Quynh Pham I found the two main filters easy enough to replace.. the post filter though.. their video says to push in the ring.. not sure what I am doing wrong but pinching, pushing, etc.. nothing is happening. I am about to cut the lines and just replace those. Their video makes it seem easy..just push down and the two ends pop out. I am having no such luck. How did you remove it?
Do you have to throw away the filters after they are used or do you /can you recycle them? Is there a reverse osmosis system that also eliminates waste?
From what I'm hearing sounds like one can use the same machine and by alternating the post-filters can achieve different results on the output. Is this so or buying an AlkaPure/OnlyPure is irreversible and one cannot change the behavior afterwards? Thanks.
Great video Quynh! How often do you change the filters using it as often as you both do? It seems like the way to go ! You can take it with you instead of leaving it when you move or just taking it when you stay somewhere for a while. Keep videos coming ! Enjoy them.
Daniel Petrovich stage 1, 2, and the post filter are changed once a year and the reverse osmosis membrane lasts from 2-4 years so it’s not too bad. We’ve really been enjoying it, thank you! 😊
I am just changing my 3 filters now, after just shy of a year. I have 3 boys and 2 adults.. so it lasted pretty good. We go through 3 to 5 gallons of water in a day between all of us, give or take.. my boys sometimes fill up their water jugs for sports.. so that eats a good 1/2 of that.

Have you tried testing water mixed with artificial food dye to see if it filters clear? Or soda even? Just curious if it would filter clear. Thank you for the video!
Does it tell you when you need to change the membrane? I know it depends on usage. I was planning on heavy usage, like to cook, drink. Two people in my home, me and my bf. I know it tells you when to replace the filters, but what about the membrane? I've heard if you continue to use it when. It needs to be replaced, it could ruin the membrane.
Buy two cheap $15 TDS testers and test it every 6 months to year after the first 2 years. We are very high TDS in tap (700 ppm) and our ZIP has lasted 3.5 years so far. Started with 95% rejection and now has 92%. They're good until 85% rejection rate.
@@thesetruths1404 amazing I've had mine almost a year. But will the light change on it to tell me? I was wondering if the system had it's own "alert" or light to let you know when it's time. Have you had trouble getting the filters out for a change?
@@lindseybaines9701 there is a light message that will blink on the filter button. The online manual and book with it will tell you. As long as it's putting out water at 20 minutes per container (or faster), and a cheap TDS meter test comparison of the input vs output water is good then it's good. I use two different TDS meters from Amazon that were about $11 to $15 each.

Have you changed the filters yet, and did you invest in the "tool" they have for easier swaps? If you have any hacks lmk I heard it's hard.

MC Mickey米鼠 I think the Berkey is great if you don’t mind it’s size (it takes up a lot of space), otherwise an under the counter RO system is going to be the best option.
