I recently bought this and it was not as heavy or bulky as I expected, not withstanding it is a large fryer. I was in two minds between this and the dual basket version but went with this because I do, like the advertising, want to cook large legs of lamb/pork so went Megazone! I understand that you can’t give this a shake to mix up things like chips but aside from those I don’t really cook a lot of items where the option to shake would be viable.
I got this for Xmas present from my wife. I cooked half a package of bacon in one go and it came out perfectly crisp. I threw 2 lbs of sausage and again it was perfect. The smart finish was brilliant for popcorn chicken and french fries. I love everything about this air fryer. Its not nearly as heavy or bulky as i thought
The only advantage of the traditional dual zone fryer is that you can give the two drawers a good old shake to mix up your chips, etc. With this, you'd have to stir to ensure even cooking I guess. But I like the extra capacity.
Mage, I was coming here to say that! I cooked an lb of cubed sweet potato today - (Walmart -yum). Used Megazone - easy peasy. According to Ninja you no longer have T precook! About 1/2 way through I used Teflon “ grippers” and a Teflon long, thin 8:30 spatula to move the pieces around. Again, Easy Peasy. Actually, you could shake the drawer and that might do it, depending on what you’re cooling. Think imma gonna love this❤ 8:30
Hiya, just subscribed as I found your reviews of how to use the ninja air fryers very helpful, I’m however still undecided of which to get, the ninja dual max or the ninja mega zone flex drawer one, I like that the dual you can shake and smaller to clean but also like that the mega one has a larger capacity. Which one would you get? Many thanks and keep those videos coming 👍🏻
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for the nice comment 👍 and for subscribing, I have reviewed and used both of these Ninja Air Fryers, and you are right, The single drawer air fryers are easier to clean, but I chose the megazone, simply because I like to have the option to cook a large item like a whole chicken and also to be able to use just a single oven if I am only cooking a small item, I would say out of all the Air fryers I have used megazone is still my favourite, I hope this is helpful. 🙂
Looked at this in the store, and purchased a Cosori dual basket instead and love it. I don't like the alerter noise the Ninja makes it sounds like a mouse being squished. Taking out that huge drawer to clean in my small sink would be a problem for me, and large items such as chickens etc, I cook on a rotesserie. Great video!
Thank you for this review. I can’t decide between this and the AF400. Would you be kind enough to let me know the internal dimensions without the divider. Is it worth the extra £50?
Rather than buy the Ninja I bought the Cecotec 9litre, exactly the same set up as the Ninja( big basket with divider and dual zones). Absolutely superb, it's Spanish and as I live in Spain went for their model. Probably on a par with the Ninja but I was swayed by the price- 129€ from Amazon and delivered with Prime. Will report back at a later date to let you know if its still going strong but so far ( 3 months) it's excellent.😊
Thank you for that very informative video. Last year I initially started with the Ninja dual 7.6L I liked it however I felt restricted using it, even though there are only 2 of us. I wanted something larger. I bought this one (after watching this video) and I am chuffed to bits with it. I bake cakes utilising smaller cakes tins which I all ready had , prove and bake bread 🥖 and do larger joints. I work this along side another fabulous machine called The THERMOMIX hence my oven is totally redundant now, and the best bit is my electricity bill has reduced by quite a bit Also my husband cleans the drawer for me all the time, definitely a win win situation!
@@its-review-time the way Ninja keeps introducing new products I think I will continue to use my Ninja single basket and they will probably produce something taller eventually
I have had a look but I can't seem to find it anywhere for sale in the UK, only the 5000 series, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to do a comparison, sorry.
Thank you so much for the quick response. Much appreciated. Would you be able to give me the approximate weight of the cooking drawer?@@its-review-time
I hate the cool cool function because I want hot cooking until the end. I do not want to monitor the time. I also hate that Ninja does not mention this function on their site or manual
Sorry Ninja. Ive spent nigh on £300. No accessories, no proper recipe book, bloody con job. If you put out a new product make sure stuff is available to go with it. Money grabbers is what you are.
It tells you what you get with it before you buy. If you weren't happy with that you shouldn't have bought it. What accessories and recipe books did you get with your oven, microwave, etc?
