I've only recently gotten back into paper magic, mostly casual commander, and have been a bit intimidated by standard. This deck absolutely wins games! And the low bar of entry is really great. Thank you!
Loved this video and the deck 🤯 Thank you so much for bringing this type of content!! Just bought the deck at my local store to have fun with friends 🌞🌞 Few slight adjustments because of cards availabilities: 2 Fading hope -> 2 Negate & 3 Prosperous Thief -> 3 Subterranean Schooner. I also doubled the amount of Roadside Reliquary and will try to find space for 2 Akal Pakal. If you wonder it's a 20 euros budget 👍
I had always played aggressive decks in paper magic. Only with Arena did i start experimenting with Control (my former nemesis). Budget blue decks have become a favorite. Thanks
Any upgrade tips? I’m just getting back into arena. I have a mono blue deck with delver and a tempo version with haughty jinn. Wondering how I can blend those all together
just played this deck got to plat never been plat before. thanks so much. keep the great decks coming! i'm new to magic and your videos are helping so much!
Moved country away from my MTG cards. Just got back into Arena. This deck looks soooo fun. Can't wait to grind it on ladder :). Thank you for the video breaking down how it works.
9:15 the recruiter is the new 1 of deck tech for ramp against the blue/white control matchup to end the game with a hasted up lategame herd migration to play around the board wipes. Basically you put at least one cavern of souls on humans - herd migration (usually doesn't get countered as the blue/white control player has a handful of board wipes at that point) -> uncounterable recruiter for game. I guess once the control players get used to playing around it and countering the herd migration if the cavern is up it will get dropped again
God damn, I hate the blue color of magic... I am a non-skilled player, but I was cutting silver rank with this as a hot knife through butter. You know what "they" say. If you cannot defeat them, join them... Thanks for the nice budget deck, learned me a lot.
Looool. Thx bro for this deck. Its so cheap yet effective and i can notice it. As a newbie who usually did 4 wins daily with this deck so easy to reach max 15 wins. I did it because of practicing and i had success. Thx again
I actually made a deck that’s just like this getting back in the magic after 15+ years mono blue Agro, cheap efficient and I’m like five games undefeated right now
Love the deck. Just came back after leaving in 2017 and love it. Helping me with my 15 wins a day! Any idea if theres a possibility to save it from rotation in a few weeks?
New to your channel. Quality stuff! Would be good to see where you would take this deck with a few rare's mythics so we can see where the ceiling is. My one gripe is newer players can't mess around with cards they don't own in practice match scenarios and there are sooooooo many cards in standard. Keep up the good work!
@@gameschooldadMTG Thanks for the reply. Maybe a series(in your own time obviously) of standard decks that you would consider safe picks to look at saving up for. Leaning towards rotation proof. 🤙
@@adambuckleypercussion3616 thanks for the suggestion, I'm likely to do either a bunch of deck videos or one video rounding up a few safe choices, but it all depends on time!
I am behind on your videos and have slowed down on Arena a lot due to work ramping up. This looks fun, though, so I'm adding it to my "Watch Later" collection.
I really enjoy the deck, but I'm so often unlucky with the cards. I think sometimes the randomizer is broken. Sometimes I only draw mana, or only creatures. Couldn't play anything 10 rounds a few times, because I'm just always unlucky... very exhausting. I'm Gold 4 now and for me I think it's the limit. 2 victories in a row almost impossible.
Regarding Prosperous Thief: You missed to mention (maybe even missed the interaction completely given the small number of games) that you also generate a Treasure when Network Disruptor goes face, because it is a Rogue (you only mentioned the Ninjas in the deck that trigger this)! I've been playing the version by LegenVD, which was before MKM came out, so no case, but instead Disruption Protocol which basically with this deck is like a classic Counterspell (UU) and Akal Pakal (I know, a rare, so not in this Zero Rare list of course), like you already mentioned, which is not only a great blocker given its 5 toughness, but also constant card draw with selection when you get an artifact into play, so also a flashed in Hoverbike in the opponent's turn! But Mono Blue Artifact Ninjas is such a fun deck to play, definitely would recommend it to new players as well! Don't expect to keep such a high win rate though :D
hello i am new to magic arena game this deck is good for newplayer like me?, i watch this video over and over but i did not understand how he played that good? is it about combo?? but i easily understand when i watch some mono white and mono red agro.... is this normal for new player to magic like me??? or it's just me have idiotic brain? because i read all the comment and they all saying it;s good i'am a f2p player btw, beed saving that wild card.... tempting to build this deck, but i still confuse how to play it from the video please somebody response to me, i will be very gratefull
There are a few mechanics like Ninjutsu that I imagine can be a little confusing when you first see them. If you have the wildcards for this you could craft it and then play against Sparky a few times to get used to the different tactics. Other decks like Mono Red Aggro and Mono White Humans are going to be simpler to play because they haven't got as many different mechanics involved as this one does. Just play whatever you feel more comfortable with :)
Hi mate! Sweet deck and video as always, I have been running a similar deck lately with a couple of changes but the core is the same. For upgrades, what rares and mythic would you choose to make the deck stronger?
You could probably make space for Suberranean Schooner, Otawara, March of Swirling Mist, maybe Akal Pakal for extra card selection, and Surge Engine can do some cool things too. I haven't tried with those specifically, but that's probably where I would start. I'd probably take out the Prosperous Thief cards first to make space, and maybe Fading Hope.
Interesting, i have tried both schooner and cloak but always returned to a personal variant of mine. Surge engine is a card i have been looking at for a while, i just havent pulled the trigger on it yet. Could you maybe post a video with a upgraded variant (if you have the cards ofc) and review it the same way as you did with this deck? @@gameschooldadMTG
I'm quite new to the game, so I need some help: Do I understand this right, that (some of) the sets used here will be banned on July 30th and cannot be played outside of historic mode? So it's probably to late to build this deck, right? I really like the playstyle of this, so sad to have this rotation. :/
Some of the cards in this deck will be no longer legal in Standard, but they'll still be playable in Explorer/Historic/Brawl/Timeless. For this deck in particular it's mostly the Ninja cards and the Hoverbike, so most of the deck will still be useable and I'll put together an updated version soon 👍
10:00 The domain ramp decks play recruiter to beat UW control. Herd migration with 3 mana untap. It gets past no more lies. Then cavern of souls recruiter and GG. Otherwise ramp just get board wiped or countered against UW control and can never do it's thing. Recruiter is still 3 bodies against everything else
I did consider it, and it could definitely work, but there aren't actually that many artifact spells in the deck, mostly other permanents that create artifact tokens. Maybe swapping a few other cards out too would make Automaton work even better.
Hey man, really interested in this deck and I just started mtg arena 2 days ago. Can i still play this deck in ranked? New to this stuff and this rollout of older cards not being legal seems so weird.
You can play this until the end of July, then some of the cards will be no longer legal in Standard. I'm working on an updated future proof version at the moment 👍
You could try adding a Subterranean Schooner or Surge Engine if you have them, maybe take out the Prosperous Thief, but the most common lists for this deck don't use any rares at all and seems to do just fine.
I may have missed it in the video, the deck is very fun but i cant figure out how to make the hover bike a 6/6 with the case, it always turns into a 4/4
Nothing comes to mind at the moment. If I said it could be a 6/6 it's possible I explained it wrong. It could do it with incubator tokens that have +1 counters on it though.
@@gameschooldadMTG Thank you for the response, Im just getting back into it and your videos have helped a ton was just scratching my head on this one 🤣
I just built this deck and I cant play it at all? How do you even play "standard" in mtg arena? I really thought "normal" ranked was standard... :( Did I just waste all my wildcards and now I cant even play the last month? :(
When you play a game, you can choose ranked or 'play' which is unranked. Then you pick from Standard, Alchemy, Explorer, etc. The only format this would be not legal in would be Alchemy.
@@4everdex once you've finished Spark Rank, you'll have all the normal options. You might even be able to skip to unlock all play modes in the settings, not sure if that's changed or not.
I don't tend to play BO3 so I don't know what sideboard cards would be best. If I wanted to change it up, I'd either play it for a while to get a feel for what cards would work better for certain matchups, or look online for similar BO3 mono blue decks to see what they use.
I'm guessing you haven't seen many of my videos. My previous one I think I went second every time. As I said at the end of this video, I didn't edit any out, it was a straight run of 5 games. You shouldn't make such big assumptions, otherwise you might make yourself look silly 👍
