You go for a “walk” and you see a gallery, a cake stall, an eagle and the most beautiful, amazing, stunning scenery ever!!!! Thank you both for sharing and of course Jack Spaniel is the star over everything 😂❤
Skye is a picture postcard from every angle. Fabulous. The videography and editing is superlative. Super professional. I’ve made home movies, properly edited, music, transitions, burned onto DVD, (long time ago) so I know how difficult it is. And yours are 10x better than mine ever were so I really appreciate how well you produce them, every week as well. I hope casual viewers realise the many hours that go into a 30 minute RU-vid video. Thank you
You’re going to laugh at this. When I first glanced at Willie’s backpack at the start of the walk, I thought the walking poles were a set of bagpipes! I know…..they don’t really look like bagpipes but I really thought “OMG, Willie has learned the bagpipes and he’s going to play at the top of the mountain.” Anyway, thanks for the wonderful vid. 😊❤️🇨🇦
There is a new school teacher who has moved to Skye, I commented on her post about Sarah's art work, see said that she has seen it, she is going to message you so she can meet up with you both
That looked a gorgeous walk! 100% a Juv. White Tailed Eagle. Very rectangle shaped wings and a wedge shaped tail! Golden Eagles has longer slender tails. Hope that helps ❤❤
Hi all. It’s a White-tailed Sea Eagle being mobbed by a Raven. Shape of the tail gives it away. And a juvenile as Willie thought. Another brilliant video btw. It’s been too long since we’ve been to Skye. I wish our boy was as well behaved as Jack 👍
My frailty and ill health prevents me from hiking like you two spry young people. So having us along on this hill climb was amazing! I am afraid of heights but love the vistas on Skye! You are so fortunate to live there. Thank you for taking me along on your hike.
A cupboard full of cake on a hiking path?! Skye truly is magical 😍 Speaking of spray-painting your car, I have been thinking that your Dirty Secrets of Scotland logo would look AMAZING on the side of the Defender (and then for symmetry's sake Sarah's channel's logo should be on the other side). The view from that hill was absolutely stunning and really makes me miss Scotland. The eagle (whichever kind it was) was amazing - what a majestic sight! I now wonder if you should set up a whole bracket-style tournament to figure out Jack's most preferred treats. After all, there is also steak...^^
It was wonderful to see your eagle. We see bald eagles frequently in Minnesota. It is so amazing to see them where ever they are. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
I was thinking the same thing. I'm fortunate enough to live in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, where there are hikes abound, but I've never seen a cake cupboard!
It's a juvenile White Tailed Sea Eagle and he was probably checking out Jack Spaniel. They are known to take foxes. We live south of you in Ardnamurchan and had a similar encounter some years ago. It was an adult and checked out our old Labrador Mister Sanchez but decided he was a bit too weighty.
Its always a good Sunday evening when you three are on. What amazing views you had and I hope you did'nt ache too much the next day. Cake looked great. Jack Spaniels certainly likes his sausages best. Lovely long Bloopers too. Landy looks much better with a clean bum. Stay safe and love to all,
Thank you so much for keeping my love for Skye alive with your good honest videos. No pretending or the likes. Im having a year long fight with my health but thanks to our amazing NHS my dear wife and i hope to be back on Skye next year enjoying all it has to offer including some of the cracking wee music sessions in the Portree bars. Love from Dumfries and thanks again. ❤️
Hi Willie, sarah & our lovely friend jack 🐶 It’s nice seeing Richard your lucky to have a wonderful handyman & love his wee 🤘🤟😊. We been away for 10 days for my 60th birthday to Kent, west London and Lake District great part of England is the lakes wee jack would love the water bless his wee wagging teil 🐕🦺 love to you all see you guys on living the sky life ❤
Would it be 'Living the Skye life' if Richard wasn't involved helping Willie with a project?! 😅❤ Cracking hill walk - but what a risk not picking up a cake on the way up! Brilliant to see the eagle.
As Aussies the cake cupboard is just amazing - the weather and ants etc. would never let it work. I so wish I could come across cake on a bushwalk! I’ll just have to come to Skye one day to experience the magic I guess. On a different note my husband has very limited mobility and so for him getting to “join” you on that walk was just extra special. Thanks for all the ways you share the lovely place where you live. We watch your videos every Monday evening without fail.
Awwww how lovely that clime was from someone who struggles on even surface of a Super market that was grand to share and the sight of the eagle was magnificent thanks for having us along luv to all three well done on the paint job the oldies 🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
😂 Willie, THAT jumper is so colourful, reminded me of Mick from Time Team 😂. I really enjoyed that walk and glad there was just enough cake left for you both 😊
Well that was a busy week! Landy is looking fab ya big dafty 😂 seriously but did u ever think you’d one day be taking an angle grinder to the arse of a Landy 😂😂 applaud you guys embracing life! & Sarah finding art & CAKE! 🧁 up a hill of all places! 😂 wee jack ❤️ his expressions are hilarious & utterly endearing 🤗😘have a great week folks! X
Hi from New Scotland (Nova Scotia) Canada. Another great video. Our 16 year old Shih Tzus Mini would agree with Jack. Sausages are best! She just loves them!
Sea Eagle, just down from your walk is the nesting place on the cliff . We got lucky last time there and got to see both adults off Skye and the juvenile. Across the water is another pair also that we got to see on the same day. Absolutely fantastic
I'm totally with you about the clouds making the view moody and magnificent. We are so lucky in the UK that we have skies that make our scenery so expressive. The rain and the rainbow- my Cornish grandma always said rain is liquid sunshine 😊 She also said that if you could see enough blue sky to make a pair of sailor's trousers it would be good weather 😄
*Wow whoever puts out cakes for the walker/hikers is a great person indeed. The cake would be helping one get their energy levels back up too. Great scenery to see as you did your walking... 🙂.*
Good morning Willie Sarah and Jack loved your hike up the mountain looked fantastic but I’m glad there was something in the cake box waiting for you and Wille really love your repair on the new 4x4 Sarah saw your cards on Etsy in New Jersey have fun stay safe see ya soon 😘🌺🌸☕️☕️🐕🦺
I don't comment too often as I'm sure you''re swamped with lovely messages, but had to comment about the glorious views, the light, the golden or WT Sea eagle... just heavenly, and I re-watched and paused the landscapes quite a few times last night. The cake, and postcard honesty boxes are so sweet!
There are White Tailed Sea Eagles here on the Isle of Wight and that's definitely a juvenile, We have one that sits on our fence eyeing up our Hebridean sheep. He is already HUGE!
A new video at last! Waiting a week is tough! I knew Jack Spaniels would pick sausages over the chicken 😋😛😜 Scotland has the most beautiful scenery in the world. Thanks for sharing it!
A breathtakingly wonderful hill walk, especially since you could gift shop and buy cake! 😁 Great that you were able to fix up the rust on your truck as well Willie
Thanks for being our tour guides to your beautiful countryside the filming was spot on as usual. What more could you ask for than eagles cake a rainbow and the answer to that burning question "chicken or sausage"....looking forward to next week Karl from eastern Canada P.S. I'm still a Jack-aholic and I don't want to be cured LOL
The Rover looks much better thanks to Willie! I loved your hike. The view is magnificent! If you ever come to North Carolina in the States, I can offer you a guest room and can take you for any number of hikes you would love! Excellent video, as they are every week.
Going by the white armpits of the raptor you filmed, I'd say you'd be looking at a juvenile white tailed sea eagle as opposed to a golden eagle. Great videos, always makes for a relaxing Sunday evening.
My back is aching after watching you climb the mountain. Your close encounter with the eagle and the views made it all amazing, topped off with a rainbow 🌈as well. In Mongolia they use golden eagles to hunt wolves. They are incredibly strong. The one and only one I’ve seen (up close) had a black beak and was almost as tall as me. When it decided I wasn’t food it took off, spiraling up and out of sight. When you go back again look for feathers. I have one my grandparents found at a place called Mr. Tom in Nova Scotia. Richard’s seal of approval on your automotive repair is all you need, so, relax as winter approaches. I love your channel and Jack Spaniels 🙏❤️🙏🏴🦴🏴
My university mascot is a golden eagle and that was definitely a golden you saw. We have a Golden as a school mascot, her name is War Eagle 5. Our vet school has a raptor center and rehabilitates all kinds of raptors. We also have a Bald Eagle named Spirit. They take turns flying at the football (American football) games. Goldens are majestic birds.
We made our first trip to Skye in April 22 with my son and daughter-in-law. The hill you climbed was just behind the house where we stayed. I love seeing places we recognise. Must go back one day, but it is 600 miles from home.
A beautiful area to go hiking in. So neat seeing that eagle. I think that was really great to have a "cake" box on trail to buy some cake and to leave money in honesty box. Even with the artists artwork cards. Great video guys.
It is good to know that you have the same little trials with Jack as we have with our Sprocker 🐾. Coming in from a very wet outdoors and plastering wet footprints everywhere! 🤦♀️
Wow you certainly had a treat for us in this video...from the great shots of the eagle to the views from the hill, wow....an appearance by Richard and Jack Spaniels selecting sausages...perfect..many thanks and best wishes.
I can’t believe there are nearly 240 comments and the video only posted 5 hours ago !! Like many comments said - this channel is my secret Sunday pleasure .
Wow - good job on the rust job. It looks great! And thanks to Richard as well - what a great friend! What a beautiful hike. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks for another lovely video; the clips of the Golden Eagle (?) are great, the scenery is majestic and the myriad colours of the water, the hills and the skies are beautiful - it's a really inspiring place for an artist! I like the honesty boxes, too, and the Almond and Apple cake was a welcome treat after the climb.
So enjoyed this video. The scenery from the top of the hill was so beautiful, and to see it in the sun was such a bonus. The work on the vehicle made such a difference. I wonder what the previous owner will think when it’s finished? Ha! See you soon.
Scotland is truly beautiful, there’s nothing quite like the crisp fresh air, of course the friendly people. Can’t wait to visit again. All the best from Destin Fl. 🏴🇺🇸
We believe it is a sea eagle. Possibly the same one that we saw from our holiday cottage not far from your walk overlooking Loch Raasay in September 💕 simply stunning 🦅
I wish y’all could find a great beach to find some cool mudlarking treasures. It’s so beautiful there and there’s so much rich history. Surely, there’s a huge cache of gold coins or prized bottles just waiting to be discovered. ❤
Beautiful video with amazing scenery, wildlife and of course the adorable Jack Spaniels. I really look forward to Sunday evenings watching your vlogs is my Sunday highlight.
