I don't blame you bro. You got alot going on we can all wait for videos. Keep bettering your self bro and don't worry about it the better of a spot in live you are the better your content will be. you have to enjoy it as much as we do for it to be worth while for everyone
Hey man I could see by the end of the video that you were having a hard time talking about such a hard decision but you are doing the best thing for the animal, and at the end of the day that’s amazing. Keep your head up knowing they will be happy as you move forward with this new chapter. Good luck with the new house and congratulations
Glad to see you back. You are one of the few youtubers who actually know a lot about the hobby. Sorry about the fish man, I hope you get it sorted out. I do believe that Rod would love to help you by temporarily holding your fish in his facility and you can also buy his 12,000 gallon pond if you would like to. All the best!!!
I have absolutely nothing in comparison of size to tanks and fish like you have, and I would dread moving my tanks let alone yours! Try to keep the stress level down in the process but we all know you'll figure it out! And of course we know you'll create something bigger and better in the next house!
i would do a pool pond for non jumping fish like the rays..You could enjoy them from lookin at them up top along with catfish...could get a humidifier so u can leave it open.....OFR has had a pool pond for there rays for years opened without major issues..they kept it against a wall and hand tanks around it so kept the fish from ju,mping out....u could have one pool pond and surround it with tanks to act like a barrier so fish dont jump out....alot of creative options u can do while keepin some of ur rare expensive stock and enjoying them as well as having content....id love to purchase that albino turtle....im sure ur probably attached to him by now
After it’s all done and you get the new tank built you will be so happy! Hopefully you can get some of them to places like OFR that would let you get your fish back once your set up! On a side note I’m in Vermont on the mass border.. any tanks you are parting with I would be interested! Hope everything works out for the best! Can’t wait to see all the new projects in the new place!
I remember when you first started your channel and even chatted a few times thru messenger. Your channel grew so fast and could definitely be huge to vlog the new big tank build. Hope you keep this motivation going bro and no matter what keep the channel alive. Good luck with all the new ventures as well brother 👍
Man....Good to see you back dude. Followed pretty much from the start. It's a massive thing doing what your doing. Dont have to justify it to anyone. You do what's right for you and those fish. You are an amazing monster fish keeper. Im sure over time you'll find some more badass fish that other people don't have to fill those huge tanks again. Its brilliant just to see you back missed your videos
Good to see you back. Sounds like some tough decisions, hope it all works out for you. Good luck with the move and hopefully you can find a couple more big tanks for the new place, saw your instagram post looking for large tanks.
Tough call brother. Good luck with everything. Sometimes you have to scrape your plate off to make room for other entrees. There’s always gonna be more once in a lifetime specimen out there for you to get to. Keep your head up. And a big solute to new beginnings.
Glad you're back, missed ya! You handled the stress better than most. Maybe your friends could just hold them until you are ready like you did for Kevin?
a few with rod when he picks up rays is my guess, the phantom red tail most likely. I think you’ve made the best decision for your fish, can tell you truly care for them.
When the time comes, look into Laguna Max-Flo pumps for the new setups. I've been running the 4200 model (the current version is the 4280) for 10 years on my 770G and it's been bullet-proof. I started with a Reeflo Hammerhead Gold, but the seals kept leaking. I had the same issue with the Snapper models. The Laguna pushes a ton of water on only 160 watts, so they're really efficient as well.
First of all I have to say I think that’s pretty awesome that you and your wife are buying a second house. I know it’s hard to move knowing that you can’t take all your fish tanks. But look on the bright side you’re gonna be able to build bigger tanks and now you have better experience. Plus this could give you an opportunity to have more RU-vid subscribers see your channel. I know getting rid of big fish that you’re close to you it’s hard to do. Now since you have the experience of keeping giant fish you can grow them out again But I know it’s not the same. I think most people don’t realize that when you have fish for a long time you end up forming a relationship with the fish and you don’t want that relationship to leave. I hope everything works out well, God bless Bro 🙌😃
I am new to your channel but I hope if this even helps a little I admire you and everything you are doing. You can feel every emotion you and your love for your extraordinary animals. I hope your move does smoothly and hope your new tanks bring you joy and excitement. I look forward to seeing all the new things you do and the new fish you raise. Bless you and yours!
Glad to see your back! It's all understandable, that's why I kinda fell off and wouldn't upload often because I was buying so many fish and some would die and couldn't force myself to constantly post depressing stuff. This hobby I've found has its highs and lows you'll be up on top again soon!
Nice video, gotta respect keepin it real. I got a fortune cookie the other day that literally said; "Never confuse single defeat with final defeat". You are the Jean-Claude Van Damme of New England, so you will win in the end lol. Whatever new stuff you get for your new place will end up just as cool as the old stuff. Plus u know if you take them to OFR or PFs theyd let you take them back. Remember the classic old song 'TURN! TURN! TURN!', "A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together... . to everything turn, turn, turn, there is a season". 👍
Mike, your real life is more important than any youtube content. Do what you have to do to keep your family happy. Keep your head up and good luck with the new house.
Put a pool pond in Concrete, or wood, hardy backer and tile (support the liner) would last longer. Depends how good you plan the plumbing and filters. Good seeing you already built something similar. Too bad those fish are needing a pool pond for a while. With the tanks you already have, they definately are good for schools of nano fish like discuss, gold fish.
Bro really gutted for you but hey gotta save for the future and yes you had a lot of stress and does test you but got got it 💪🏼 you need to get moved a lot less fish and stress and start enjoying the hobby again 👍🏼 always loved the channel and your content and you as a person so don’t stop the videos 🙏🏼
Also people like you have always kept me going when life gets to much and stressed and fall out of love with the hobby you all have kept me in and back in love with the hobby so thank you bro really appreciate your hard work 👍🏼🙏🏼
Warren thank you for saying that bro. I know that feeling I've got a lot of inspiration and motivation from a lot of hobbyist as well. Really cool that I've in some way helped others with that. This is a big part of why I feel bad about falling off with videos. Especially this year. I've seen a lot of people getting out of the hobby. Things will pick back up soon I hope. Thanks again man you've always been very encouraging and positive and that has helped me more than you might think
@@OffTheDeepEndAquatics yeah in reality it is best to make it a beautiful memory and move on with the pieces you can salvage and the best ideas you have from the experience both good and bad . Great experiences with your abilities and knowledge gained should have the desired success in the future and I think that the latest video from Mick's Fish UK is the way to go. The difference in prices and structure is something that you would know better than me, but the first time you see what the Man built in the space he has will blow your mind, but again the fact is that I am close to clueless in monster plywood built aquarium. Best of luck and I will return to the channel when you get settled in and great luck with the new space
I’m not no RU-vidr but have large pool pond and several tanks have been in a mood where I’m not as into it. At the same time I could never part from my wet pets and currently finding my way back into it
Crazy how housing Kevin’s or Rods rays have caused great stress for you and your setup as well as over at OFR. You guys are good people to take all that on! I wouldn’t have lol. No way!
It's not their fault though. We all just did the best we could. For me I had way more problems than just the rays. If I could go back id still gladly take them to help out all over again
@@OffTheDeepEndAquatics I understand! I can just sense your extreme stress from all of it! I don’t think it’s anyones fault either! It’s just a big responsibility and fish keeping is already so particular and picky with our own fish to begin with!
oh yea look at it this way you are a professional now. what to do, not to do, and in new home have a dedicated filter section where you can manoover easy
New subscriber, new question. On your 1500 gallon, you put foam under the tank. What type of foam is this? Doesn’t the weight of the tank crush the foam? Is the foam used as an insulator so as to reduce the heat of the water to the concrete floor.
Hey man I used 1" thick peafoam insolation sheets. Even though u can crush it with your fingers the tank weight does not compress the sheets. It kept the tank off the floor 1", reduces uneven pressure points on the tank/floor, acts as a vaper barrier and also yes helps keep the tank a little warmer so it's not on a cold floor.
You should be able to get some of the exotic fish from Josh and Big Rich you know you know they will help you out especially when they get in a lot of catfish and iridescent sharks
Man hate to hear about all the pump issues. Also at the end of the day you have to do you. Your health and mindset is what you have to think of and it has to take priority over hobbies. The people will still be here when you get back to doing what you do best with the fish.
Are your pumps in an enclosed spot I know sometimes if you have them closed up or something's over them they fries quit because they start overheating it's crazy I'm sorry brother that really does suck
The thing I've learned from being in this hobby - less is more AND I stay away from fish that don't get along with other fish, fish that are hard to feed, and fish that hide all of the time.
Sounds like to me you tapped out from the looks of it looks like you girls beautiful house and a really good job and your married sounds like greed to me good luck to ya broski
Probably not a profitable business idea but shame there isn't a 'fishery' so like a cattery where people can short\mid term leave fish with them for a fee. Would be ideal for people like you/Kevin etc. I'm sure there's a lot of call for it but I guess most hobbyists use friends who they know or simply give the fish to a better home.
I think this is a real shame. I don't think Kevin and Rod should of put pressure on anyone else to take of their animals. Just made it a chore for you when really you built that room for your own hobby. Hope you pick yourself up soon 👍
Not their fault at all. We all did what was best for the rays at the time. If I could go back I would do it all over again just to save the rays that we did save.
yh pool ponds idea isn't worth it. there was that guy who's channel disseapered he put all his in a pool pond went away and came back to them all dead. I think the air pump failed
