I have the Q timex and eventhough the gmt looks amazing I would have preferred the pinchy looking bracelet plus the deep blue and red bezel (the one the original q have ). Excellent video
I own a Q Timex (Pepsi) and a Q Timex GMT (Batman). Both have a problem with the crown and movement. When I push in the crown, after taking advantage of the hacking feature and having set the time precisely, the minute hand jumps, either forward or backward, by maybe as much as two minutes. This makes setting a reliable time very difficult. Actually almost impossible. I am not alone in this. While no RU-vid video review of the watches seems to mention this, I have read the same complaint in in other online reviews and comments. These are beautiful pieces, but setting the time on them is maddening.
the Q got many new colors added so I'm sure there will be lots of colors for GMT, like a white dial/silver bezel and also colabs with hodinkee, Todd Snyder, Huckberry all that stuff, so maybe don't rush to get this pepsi if you want a different color, they will come within a year
Great review. I own 7 Qs and two M79s. I don't think this will take interest away from the other Qs. I never cared for a GMT hand, the bezel was enough for me. I like the cleaner dial without the GMT hand and I never really see myself using it. Timex offers such great value and quality, I find myself buying nothing but Timex lately. I currently own 60 Timex in my ever growing watch collection. I also love the Marlins and the American Documents watches
I got my GMT version last week and love the watch. I think it is worth every penny they are asking especially when you could get 20% off of the watch like I did…… but definitely the illumination is lacking my 30-year-old Tag Heuer still has much better illumination than this new Timex
I’d MUCH rather have the Q reissue because of the 12hr scale. I don’t have any need to know whether my home time zone dark, and I don’t operate on military time… so a 12hr is just easier to read at a glance.
Other than price point, I don't see a reason for the original Q to exist. I might watch sales for 6 months or so before deciding to pull it. I certainly wouldn't buy the original over this new GMT. This was definitely a surprise, and I think it's going to continue to sell out when they restock, at least for a little while. I hope nobody pays over list on Ebay though.
Yes. Its not a true GMT. This is a “callers” GMT that allows you to track a 2nd time zone. Like if Gam Gam Lives in London and you live in California, you will know not to call during her Bridge Game.
I prefer the original one - to me it has the vintage appeal with the not-applied indices and the hair ripping bracelet (the new one is definitely an upgrade, but it just doesn't look good imo - and I think I prefer the older "clasp" rather than a pressed metal one. I also prefer the cleaner dial, without the GMT and Swiss Movt text. This new one isn't of my interest and I don't plan on buying it - at least for now. The bezel on the original is enough for my "GMT" needs and I already own some other true GMTs if I need the extra hand - but the truth is that I don't.
