What's wrong with cables again? Technology is fine I guess but what does that look like in real-life? Are clubs/festivals asking for wireless audio? Why would I want to have my mixer/turntables to be wireless? I'm not walking around, I'm mixing. Sounds like they're trying to reinvent the wheel there. Creating solutions for problems that don't exists.

@EarnestMazique

Cables are great for clubs and venues with the foresight and resources to install a sound system. Us poor fools doing mobile gigs have to run our own cables, and when those cables have to cross foot paths, we run into problems. I've been using RF mic or IEM kits to extend audio wirelessly to speakers for a while now. I'm curious about how this device compares to those, because a good IEM kit gives good fidelity and imperceptible latency.

How about a receiver to pair the Akiko Pro SKAA and get the 18ms delayed audio all the way from any source to any device with aux/line-in? It should be a portable (usb-powerbank powered) device. Is the Rush Receiver For Headphones suitable for this use or will this transmitter&receiver pair have the bigger latency of the non-Pro receiver unit? I like to have the freedom to choose the equipment to use as the audio source as well as the sound output. So just the solution for wireless low-latency good quality stereo audio transmission is required. I think this could be it! :)

It sounds good, but ay the end, the cable system keeps so cheaper compared to this skaa solution (and the others suggested in some commentaries) which needs both a transmetter and a receiver. Does the benefits of using a wireless system really compense the cost and the latency of this choice ? In my opinion it doesn’t…

Probably to keep the price tag under a grand. It's not really something designed to do large scale gigs, and it would be tough to justify something so expensive that wouldn't be practical for big events. I don't have anything further to add but in this day and age NOTHING would surprise me trust me I'm 50 years old and have seen just about anything that will try to screw over peoples sets because of jealous nefarious individuals who have nothing but evil doing on their minds. It doesn't hurt to make people think about all possibilities in this day and age and that is really all I was doing with my examples I pulled up but wireless security has been my job for more than 30 years and sometimes it's hard not to run my brain out of my mouth no harm intended just wanted to make possible users think about the situation and all it's possibilities. Oh and pulling speaker cables generally is more difficult than you would think with all the security staff that Venues generally have at events nowadays as Electrics and punters don't mix well and usually if not guarded can often cause injury but that's my view, maybe I'm scaling up the issue too large and this particular set up is for smaller mobile related venue's..anyway no worries your all adults so can make up our own minds. Analogue vs Digital. Vinyl vs CD. Wired Audio vs Wireless Bluetooth. Wireless Bluetooth vs Skaa? And guess what's to come? Yea you've guessed it...5G vs 6G?. All sounds great! Sorry (or not), but i'm an old school DJ in their 50's who grew up around "connecting" things just like with people as I began to discover music and how it changed my live, and others lives too. I've always thought, technically speaking that an acoustic guitar played through a microphone don't have the sound dynamics of an electric one played through an electrical cord, or by some form of physical 'connection', I may be wrong, or maybe not. I'm certainly in no hurry to change the concept's of sound reproduction I learnt and grew with.. Seems as though technology is creating a kind of (social distancing) between electrical appliances or hardware as what's happening with us right now! The only "wireless" connection there should be when it comes to music reproduction is between the loudspeaker and the 🎧 ear! Nothing can beat the 'connection' with the needle in that groove! Now That's What I Call Music! In perfect harmony!
@HarmonicaMustang
@HarmonicaMustang 4 года назад
There's a place for everything. I agree, a wired connection is reliable and you get benefits from 'old-school' ways of doing things. But there's also space for progress. Vinyl wasn't perfect, and neither was tape, CDs and now MP3s. All of them have their pros and cons, but there is a place for them all, all depends on your needs and what you're trying to achieve. I've got a vinyl collection I like to relax to, but I also have my entire digitised music library available via the internet if I'm on the road so I can listen anywhere and anytime on anything.

Darren Burgess Yes, you connect two U3 transmitters (left& right) to any mixer with XLR outputs. Set it to “line”. Then connect the U3 receivers to as many speakers that you want, they need XLR inputs. The range is about 90ft. This guy shows how it works: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5o_3H-wqCAY.html

@@winstonsmith9424 If your XLR outputs are too close, you can use an XLR extender (Neutrik 3-Pole XLR Female to 3-Pole XLR Male Extension Adapter) on one of your Xvive U3s. I would also try to keep a clear line-of-sight between the transmitter & the receiver. That includes also human bodies, which can create interference. The best option to avoid interference, is to elevate the Xvive U3 transmitter over 7 feet by using XLR cables & placing it on a speaker stand or mic stand, for example. I would recommend extensively testing the system before using it in an event, and that applies to any wireless system. Good luck!

( though in my opinion, it not that bad of a set up...being he got it to work and its only a view wires). This tech looks good ... so just know it appears Beta-is, but cool to know, that, soon the real thing is not far away for the public. so many things still use bluetooth tech and im sure more's to come. putting it in a device is ideal. the separate unit " U S B" Skaa device isn't to bad. it functioned.. good for small gigs. thanks Crossfade. love the Crossfade logo

Years I’ve been waiting to have a battery powered plastic controller, that is WiFi enabled to stream MP3’s to my Bluetooth enabled Chinese speakers. With mere milliseconds of latency! OMG the convenience and opportunities abound...

I wish they had a stand like that for the Prime 2. But i know it's not going to fit being it's bigger.

Bluetooth audio and wireless audio, it degrades the audio quality right?
@sealandersoundscapes6403
@sealandersoundscapes6403 3 года назад
I'd love to hear that clipped bluetooth sound on a 5k system and then tell me that you can't tell....indeed bluetooth audi sounds crap on large power setups you can clearly hear the clips from the bits that they have removed in order to compress the audio into the wave form and send it on it's way. can't tell some folk this though you have to hear it with your own ears to confirm I guess.

nice proof of concept! However next to thinking the latency is still too much, what about wireless interference? i don't know at what frequencies this runs, but probably some general frequencies, which means other devices can interfere. Maybe even resulting into distortion or even signal loss? (my jabra bluetooth headset has this when there are to much bluetooth devices active) Btw; at 11:15 you can hear a difference in delay between the headset and the speaker; there is no way you can beatmatch correctly that way.

That was the headphone playing a different track purposely out of time to show that it's not playing the same as the speaker :)

Good for small gigs if you're bringing not a huge speaker set up, portable as hell actually. I still think it's a bit of a gimmick, I'd never use wireless in a club.

19 millisecond is too much delay to Dj with unless you have a monitor and you are in a separate room from the Skaa speakers. Anything above 5 millisecond is unusable. But like you said as proof of concept cool. But for it to be functional no. And the further you are away from the transceiver you are the more latency you will have. Again as far as proof of concept 😎. But for practical use, we are not there yet

Yeah, can't agree with this statement at all. And no, the latency does NOT increase with distance. That's a silly comment.
@Crossfader
@Crossfader 4 года назад
The latency doesn't change with distance. We know of a very famous finger drummer who tried this out at Namm and he was happy enough with the 19ms too. I think most people would be surprised with it in use.
@Lordblanca
@Lordblanca 4 года назад
Let's make this very simple. If it takes a signal 0.3 milliseconds to go 5 feet what makes you think that it will take the same time to go 30 feet. It takes a car 1 hour to 55 miles at 55 miles an hour. What makes you think that it will take the same car going at 55 miles an hour 1 hour to go 110 miles? This is common sense
@Crossfader
@Crossfader 4 года назад
@@Lordblanca It's called locked latency. Because this system can bond to two speakers, they have to play at the exact same time. This is a digital signal being sent over the air remember, not direct audio. One speaker can be centimeters from the receiver and the other 30meters away, they both play exactly 19ms after.
@Lordblanca
@Lordblanca 4 года назад
@@Crossfader locked latency is a CPU term pertaining to cycles. This has nothing to do with that. If you are going to give information please give it correctly. Laten deals with the time from source to destination. What you are emplying that if the transceiver is 5 inches from the speaker or 30 feet its going to take 19 millisecond for it to get to both speakers. Is this what you are saying?

Most people running a DJ controller have their USB latency set to higher than 5ms without even realising it. It's not unusable, most people would be absolutely fine mixing with this set up :)
