Is This the Hardest Jaco Pastorius Bass Line? (w/ Tutorial) 

My favourite Pastorius version is him with Joni. I love his playing on the excellent "Hejira", "Mingus" and "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" albums and especially on the live album "Shadows And Light", where Joni, together with Jaco and Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, Don Alias and Lyle Mays gives us a tremendously great concert. For those who want to check the "Shadows And Light" album, I need to tell you that the song "Raised on robbery" wasn't put on the album (although it was recorded for the film of the concert), and you really should listen to it. You won't find it in the album but you'll find it on RU-vid and also if you watch the VHS/DVD, of course.

Fun story:I've found Havona causing the most problems,especially that 3octave run up the neck leading into the 2nd verse,for every excellent professional bass player to have played,"The Book"in Peter Graves' bands containing Jaco's original charts.Just my experience working for Peter since around '84 as his crew along side my mentor, Jaco's copyist/arranger and Peter's sound engineer,Larry Warrilow.Good luck one and all! Great lesson, gonna work on it this Summer ! I love to play those small parts to really focus on groove and technique without bothering about the whole song structure. PS. just have to replace the 9 on 2nd string for 4 on 1st string in Tab bars 2, 4, 6 :)

Glad to see you play the open A, loads of tabs/covers have it fretted 5th fret E string, but that instinctively felt wrong to me. Btw, your tab has the high B note accidentally tabbed incorrectly. Anyway, thanks for lesson, I never quite got this up to performance level, so off to the woodshed 🙂

I would say Balloon Song is probably his hardest. Chromatic Fantasy comes pretty close too.
