@belly tripper if you watch this video, and take in it’s subject matter with an open mind, and not a “tell lie scope” point of view, you might realize that it is basically saying ... all points of view... are not only possible, but possibly simultaneously ... correct. So maybe we can leave the snark out of the comments. The world could be both spherical, and flat. It could be a rectangle matrix like an arcade game that you fly off one side and immediately continue on the other. It can be... anything. So perhaps the point of a “life”... is to enjoy it more. Be in the moment more. And judge and criticize less. Perhaps in another view of life, there is no point. Lol. Cheers!

@@Astrobiscuit, This is my theory of everything: There are 3 dimensions for space and 1 dimension for time. But the main 6 directions of the Universe can have 6 dimensions. I think the Gravity belongs to only one dimension (5th dimension). And I think all the dimensions are time based lines (lines without strings or size). That is why the time can change when we observe it (Eg: Double-slit experiment). When we observe/measure a time line (a direction of a quantum particle), then it can cause to change the time of the entangled other time lines too. There are unstable time lines like 0.5 (spin), 2/3, -1/3 (charge) which came from the unstable 6th dimension of the Universe. So we should have a mathematical theory to find all the different types of 'time lines' to understand the symmetry of the Universe. According to my mathematical calculations the Gravity is a result of the separation from the symmetry between 5 and 6 dimensions to make the 5th stable dimension using a part from the 6th dimension making the 6th dimension unstable. So that can be the duality of the gravity which comes from the Mass (5th dimension) and the anti gravity called the Dark Energy from the 6th dimension. The Universe should be balanced because it is symmetric. (The separation of the symmetry: (+0.0-0.0) x (+0.0-0.0) x (+0.0-0.0)) = (+(1)-(-(1))) x (0.000 - 0.000) x (+0.0-0.0)) The duality of the 6 directions and the 6 distances of the first start of the Universe: (+0-0)^6 + (-0+0)^6 = MATTER + ANTIMATTER (+0-0)^6 = i: (+1-(-1))^3 X ii: (+0.0-0.0)^3 = ( This should be the Pure Eight (Pali: Suddhātthaka) in Buddhism: Maybe there is a fundamental cause for the stable existence of the Heat, Solid, Liquid and Gas. I feel like, especially looking at the overall history of scientific discovery, the establishment tends to get in its own way. One guy comes up with a theory, four others come up with competing theories, bits and pieces of some reinforce each other but stand aggressively against others, and whichever one is lucky enough rises to the top and dominates even though it fails in some key areas. Focus gets too tight on that theory because it has gained strong support, and it prevents other theories from getting proper notice. This holds us back, sometimes for a very long period of time. The truth of the nature of the universe exists and is solid, but the theory that brings it to light has to wait for its own notice, because we don't have the omniscience needed to immediately know it when we see it. The bright spot is that we are on a trajectory toward that truth - scientific progress is like an unstoppable bullet flying inexorably toward a specific destination. We will make it there; we just need time and to not do something dumb to stop ourselves before we finally complete the journey. What an exciting time to be alive, though. When you watch stuff like this, you can _feel_ it just out of reach. The thinnest slice of time separates us now from the Singularity, if there is such a thing and whatever that will ultimately look like. Thank you, Astrobiscuit! I truly love your videos and this one is even more excellent than usual. Thank you for your hard work. :-)

100 years ago or so, it took a fellow named Einstein to come up with the special relativity(SR) theory, but today just about anybody can do it. You don't even need any prior physics education at all. In fact even a high school dropout, such as myself, can do it. My teachers basically classified me as being a total failure. Granted I did have a head injury at the age of 10, which did enough damage to shift me from being at the top of the class to falling all the way down to the bottom, and then eventually failing a grade, and later on dropping out of school altogether. So I find it fascinating that one who the school system classifies as being as dumb as an ox, is also a person who is capable of discovering the special relativity phenomena independently, and deriving the SR mathematical equations independently as well. So if you are smart enough to do that, but in no way are you a knowledgeable person for whatever reason, then you are cast out forever. You will be humiliated, mocked, rejected, abandoned, abused, betrayed, and/or used as means-to-an-end. However, if you are knowledgeable in a big way, but you are not really that intelligent, that does not matter, for you are on your way to success. Arms across the entire globe will be open for you. Yep, I used RU-vid as well, and in this case to reveal what a dumb ox can do.

I’ve been asking myself lots of hard questions about our existence recently, and obviously, the universe wanted to give me a sign: this video came up as a recommendation. So glad I watched it, what a great documentary! Some ideas sprang to mind as I was watching - you might be interested in exploring these further... When you were explaining Wolfram’s automata rules with the wooden sticks, it reminded me of Penrose Tiles. There’s a great Veritasium video about these, but they’re basically shapes which can tile infinitely, but without repetition. After learning about these I started looking in to other ideas by this Penrose guy... as you probably realise, he’s a pretty big deal! I was hooked on his concept of Conformal Cyclic Cosmology, which he thinks explains how the universe repeats in infinite cycles. As the universe approaches heat death, and all matter has been consumed by black holes, it reaches an equilibrium where “nothing” is mathematically indistinguishable from “everything”. It’s hard to get your head round at first but after watching his interview on Closer To Truth it became extremely intuitive. (Closer To Truth is a goldmine, by the way - if you haven’t seen it before). Penrose has another theory about how quantum mechanics bring consciousness in to being through the brain. Look up Orchestrated Objective Reduction - I’m only just getting started on this one but watched a talk given by his co-author Dr Hameroff, and it is slowly starting to make some kind of sense. A slightly mad (but beautifully presented) theory is Garret Lisi’s E8 lattice theory. Lisi found that all the fundamental particles we know of to date fit within a multi-dimensional Lie Group called the E8 lattice - but it leaves gaps for more particles, which he theorises are as-yet undiscovered. It’s a cool theory with pretty patterns... But there’s certainly some parallels in his theory to Wolfram’s lattices, too. I was especially excited to hear about how Wolfram’s theory relies on as-yet undiscovered particles too. Another avenue you might be interested in is Tom Campbell’s “My Big TOE”. This one really is pretty far-out, I should warn you... but it’s proponents are very vocal about its consequences. It somehow involves simulation theory and verges on aspects of “spirituality”, but is written and explained by a physicist who proposes a scientific explanation of reality itself, as well as supernatural phenomenon, beyond the realms of what “the establishment” dares to offer up. Please keep making docs like this. You have a new subscriber! Thanks!

Why.. ?? nahh let reality stands on its own two pixelated feet. If it's good, people will share it, people will comment, and it will help the algorithm. Only bad stuff that needs a piggyback ride, were you trying to circumvent the fundamental aspects that couldn't be had au naturel. This is a good video, and one of the best I have seen from Astrobiscuit, no reason to nurse it.

What an amazing video. I sincerely hope that you get picked up by a production company to develop this into a series with a large budget! Although the quality of content is already superb, it would be fantastic if it could have a large distribution. Failing that, hope the channel explodes with views and subscribers! Keep up the great work sir, and we eagerly await for the next instalment.

So, I created a simulator game to follow a simple formula. Watched a universe being born, then stars and planets popped up and formed beautiful galaxies. Soon an intelligent life emerged on one of the planets. The creatures eventually figured out they live in a simulation and started looking for their creator. I flipped the power switch. Now I am afraid to switch it back.

It was really great! Congrats on finishing it! The editing was great and it kept me entertained and interested throughout. One thing I didn't quite get: how is dark matter related to all the other stuff about quantum mechanics? My understanding is dark matter is just the unknown matter in the Universe we know must exist given the great predictive power of general relativity. String Theory / Wolfram's giant computer are more "theories of everything" that would bring together general relativity and quantum mechanics, but wouldn't necessarily answer the question "What is dark matter?" Is that your understanding?
@Astrobiscuit
@Astrobiscuit 3 года назад
The thing about dark matter is that we can't find it. Either its there and we just can't find it or its not there and general relativity is wrong. More and more scientists are beginning to question general relativity. Wolfram however predicts that dark matter is hiding somewhere we haven't yet looked. His oligons are particles at the teeniest scales imaginable, something like 10 to the power 20 times smaller than an electron. Wolfram believes his oligons are the missing dark matter we've been looking for. If we find them then physics will be shaken to its core... so my fingers are crossed. Glad you liked the film. phew!
@quantavious8959
@quantavious8959 3 года назад
It doesn't radiate any electromagnetic waves like light and that is why its called dark matter, and it doesn't interact with any normal matter, but its similar to strange matter which is basically when strange quarks lose their charm counterparts and they flow like a fluid.
