Is this the most scenic 20 minute drive anywhere in the UK? The A82 in the Highlands of Scotland. 

Brought back.Many happy memories my late wife and I travelled it often over the last 30 odd years brought tears and smiles to my face thanks for letting me see my memories

Last time I drove north on this road it was in glorious sunshine the whole day, Scotland looked amazing. Three days later I drove back south, in dark overcast conditions and Scotland looked even better. As a Welshman my country is beautiful as well, but Scotland has a wild untamed and very expansive feeling. For anyone wondering, go, you will not regret it.

This is an incredible video and yet it still doesn’t do it justice. I have travelled this road many many many times and each time I still get goosebumps. It never gets any less spectacular no matter how many times I drive through. It takes my breath away every time. I love my wee country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥰

Been driving through this since I was 8 yrs old. Now 64yrs old. Never twice the same, but always amazing.

Some 37 years have passed since my first visit to Glencoe and Ballachulish. A misty morning in late June gave way to sunshine, and the hills were deep green of summer. Making the turn from the A82 onto the single track road through Glen Etive was the best surprise of the day. Highland scenic treasure beginning to end. Hi Steve, I've watched this video before, but today it really moved me, I driven this road 3 times, on my way to Port Appin, then going on to the Isle of Lismore. I was blown away by the beauty of these mountains the first time I drove it, I just kept saying wow, wow, wow. I hike and wildcamp and I always feel closer to the ones who are no longer here anymore when I'm on a mountain , I lost my mother in April last year, so the combination of the beautiful music and mountains in this video, I'm not afraid to say, moved me to tears, thinking about my mother. It reminds me the first time I went to Glencoe. March 2017. It was a sunny day (unusual hahahaha), it snowed the day before. Man... One of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Damn, I miss Scotland so much! Love your videos! Keep it up, pal! Greetings from Seville.

55 years ago I raised the alarm for a missing hiker in these hills. His body was recovered two days later. I was told he was 18 and its only now, with dreams of Glen Coe surfacing that I realise , so was I ..... and it could just as easily been me we were looking for up there. Great video, thank you.... and in case anyone hasn't been, the actuallity is even more thrilling.

In a word - YES! Just gone straight to the top of my Bucket List - thank you! For the first 50 years of my life I lived in Kent, down south, and apart from a couple of hours in Motherwell one day in the early 70s, delivering a lorryload of British Steel diaries to the foundry there with a mate of mine, I never went near Scotland. Since then I've made a couple of day trips to Edinburgh over ten years ago now - and that's it. God, I need to go back to Scotland and see more of this. Your Channel has opened my eyes big time! Really lifted my spirit taking that drive with you today. The Lord alone knows how many times I've travelled that road to clamber amongst the hills of Glen Coe, and beyond. Every time I make that climb up from Loch Tulla, and level out on the moor, my heart soars at what lies ahead. My hill walking days are all but over, but not my travelling days, and happy to say that in a couple of weeks I'll travel that road once again, on my way to the Outer Hebrides.

I live in Glasgow and this is my favourite drive it is just awesome especially on a misty morning as the sun is breaking through.

You did well getting a clear run - the last couple of times I went up that road, I got a lot of traffic in front of me several times. The weather conditions in this video showed the scenery at its finest.

Buachaille Etive Mhor is such an iconic mountain... instantly recognizable! and the Glencoe with the 3 sisters on one side and Aonach Eagach on the other ... did you have time for a pint and a pie in the Clachaig?

Just done it this month and having been a driver most of my working life I can honestly say this is the most spectacular magnificent road I have ever seen in all my 35 years of driving😁👍

My greetings from Ukraine. I want to say that Scotland is one of those countries whose picturesque nature impresses me. No seriously, there is something in these steppes, surrounded by mountains, without trees and other bushes (Although screenshots became the background of the desktop). If you have the opportunity, I advise you to try to ride with us in the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are also very beautiful.

I think I've watched this 5 or 6 times and am still gob smacked at the quality of the imagery. I did hitch hike this route in 1973 and really have a feel for the awestruckness, I experienced as a pedestrian. WOW Steve!

The whole road from Loch Lomand to Inverness,is the best road in UK and that part thru Glencoe is the icing on the cake.

I have travelled the Highlands since I was 9 years old. Dornoch/ Embo very dear to me. Lived on the West coast 8 years on the East shore of Loch Fyne.My soul wants the Highlands.

This is without doubt one of the most breathtaking views in the UK, you have to drive it in person to fully appreciate the true scale. Beautiful Scotland.

I done this route every year from January for over 20 years. Used to keep an eye on the snow and ice forecast before making the journey. Glencoe for a week then onto Aviemore for a week depending on winter climbing conditions. A serious accident put paid to my climbing but when my new self build camper is done there will be no stopping me. So desperate to break out the ice gear but just to visit your beautiful country is enough. All I can say is Aonach Eagach. One of my memorial winter days in full snow and ice conditions

First drove that road in 1967 in my 14-year old Ford Popular and loved every minute. Have driven it many times since and it is still a gorgeous drive (one of many in NW Scotland).

18:30, the little turn of to the right. Hot Summer of 1976, and little tents all down the side of that road. Woke up in the morning to waddle across the road and cool off in the River Coe. Then almost every evening drinking in the Claghaig Inn with people from all over the World, or so it seemed. Magic Memories.

I drove this road, very late at night, at Christmas a few years ago on the way to Rum. As we were coming through Glasgow, a really hard hoar frost descended, and by the time we got to this bit of road, a full moon had appeared and made the place look other worldly. I've driven it on sunny days since, and it's just beautiful whatever the weather.

I've never seen Glencoe look so beautiful! Whenever I've driven through, it's been cloudy or misty and very dramatic.

I took a trip on a whim after deciding I needed a complete reset from what had been a couple of crappy years in my life. Woke up one morning in Feb 2015, booked, what turned out to be, a fantastic B&B in Fort William. Started the drive only a few days later from Hertfordshire. Drove the route at night in snow on the way North. Didn't appreciate what the scenery was like that night as was pitch black with snow on either side. The following morning, I drove down to an old Scout haunt of mine in Lochearnhead in crisp, blue sky weather. It was the most beautiful, relaxing and awe-inspiring roads I have ever driven! This video reminded me that there are places to go where one can forget about the trials and stresses of normal life and just take a deep breath!! Thank you so much from a, now, very smiley middle aged man!!

My favourite road, how lucky are we here in Scotland that we can choose to drive this road. I like to do a road trip solo, get up early and drive either up this road, or continue up the A83 past Arrochar and up to Kilmartin Glen to walk among the standing stones. Both drives and their destination calm me. Loving your channel, which I just discovered a few days ago.

I remember driving this route as an eleven year old boy in 1971 with my father and mother (now deceased). Such beautiful memories came flooding back. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏.

I've ridden this road by motorcycle hundreds of times over the last 30 years for an annual Sept pilgrimage to Invercoe campsite in Glencoe village. Rannoch moor can be desolate when the wind and rain are howling from west to east ! Also ski-id many times at the Glencoe ski resort, to see the place in winter with full snow everywhere is breathtaking! 👌

Drove it last week and it’s stunning from start to finish. The photo opportunities of the scenery are endless. My van didn’t enjoy the pot holes though as I now have a knock from my suspension, but can’t wait to return.

Lure of the landscapes, call of the mountains, amplified by excellent music, make a dream trip of the Highlands. BRAVO!

We drove it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and it was great to have those memories brought back.

It's my favourite place on the planet, never the same twice. I drove through it in torrential rain a couple of years ago and everything was just sillouetted shades of grey, don't know how many times I said wow, it was something else. It's a shame you never filmed it 3 or 4 weeks later when there's a bit of colour in the vegetation, then it would be truly breathtaking. Thanks for posting.

Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful video. Seeing that spectacular scenery sent shivers down my spine. Back in 2016, August, my late Wife and I rode that road on our motorcycle (FJR1300AE) in weather conditions that were the complete opposite to the day you got. We'd ridden from Urquhart that morning and although it was extremely windy, the Sun was shining. We'd heard the weather forecast for rain but after some 22 years of biking, a little rain wasnt going to put us (me really) off riding home in one go back to Lancashire. We stopped off at Roy Bridge for lunch after a spectacular if very wufty ride from Aviemore. After lunch, I checked the weather app and saw a huge amount of rain ahead of us. I suggested to my wife that we should be okay with just our waterproof jackets on and not our waterproof overtrousers. (🙈) From Spean Bridge, we had over 4 hours of torrential rain, high winds and temperatures of 9 degrees! At Moffat turn off on the A74M, we bailed out and managed to get a room at the Buccleuch Arms hotel. Phew!! When we saw a wrecked caravan on the A82 and how litterally baron and alone we felt, I was quite scared. The sight of the waterfalls around The Three Sisters added to the flooding water on the carriageway, was truly amazing. I have most of it on video. My beautiful wife Lynn was born in Scotland and she lost her life in 2017 in the beautiful Borders near Moffat. Anyone who lives near Yarrowford will know of this tragedy. I love driving along the a82 , walked across and along a bit doing the west Highland way. Stunning

Four years ago, I drove this road for the first time, but the weather was miserable, and I didn't notice (or really see) much of it. Three years ago, I drove it again, and was amazed at the views. A few days later, I hiked alongside it, on the West Highland Way, and was mesmerized by the sight of Buachaille Etive Mor. Promised myself I'd climb it. Two years ago, I drove it yet again, and this time climbed not only Curved Ridge on the Buachaille, but traversed the Aonach Eagach as well. Last year I had to cancel my Highlands trip... Hoping for 2022! What an incredible place! Thank you for sharing this video!!!

Drove this road in the 90s , me and my workmate thought the car had broken down, then saw 2 RAF jets screaming down glencoe,s Valley, it was awesome, the scenery each time we travelled was changing with the seasons,,

That was a fantastic video, first drove that road 51 years ago and then many times as I worked in Loch Carron area for many years. Astonished that the road has had never been widened in all that time. Been 35 years since I travelled that road. Always thought it dour, even threatening. Each time I drove I reflected on the Glencoe massacre in these hills to the east.

I too have driven this road several times but never on such a sunny day. It's also magical on a rainy day, the low clouds and mist seem to bring the hills closer to you and give a mystical feel to the area.

I love this road. I’ve been on it a couple of times on my Harley Electraglide. We spent 10 days touring up the west coast a few years ago and plan on doing it again next year by trike on the way to doing the NC500. Scotland is the most beautiful country in the world

I make this trip regularly when I head south to Glasgow and this time of year just about every patch of ground suitable or lay-by has a campervan or 3 parked on it. A blight on a beautiful landscape, reminds me of fly tipped refrigerators. At around 15:12 you pass a house with a very dark recent history. I remember travelling along this road back in the 80s for a camping holiday and it's a memory I will cherish. It was wet and grey as we came into the glen the tops of the three sisters hidden in the cloud. But there on the side of the road in a lay by a lone Piper in all his glory was playing as if personally welcoming me an English boy to his Scotland it was truly magnificent. A great holiday camping in the red squirrel campsite. And the Hidden valley? Just a special special place.

My son and I took the A82 from Crianlarich to Fort William three Sundays ago, having had a stop at Killin to see the Falls of Dochart. It was a very nostalgic trip for me, because his late mother and I had taken the same route almost 60 years ago. We were on our way to Elgin, to pick up a Caterham 7 for a 3-day hire. The Cairngorms are pretty spectacular, too.

Driven this road many times and absolutely love it, from the first view of the Buchaille, soup and a roll at the King's Hoose, down Glencoe and overnight at the Red Squirrel campsite. Magnificent.

This is without doubt comparable to anywhere in the world. We have travelled this route on four separate occasions and each time it has taken our breath away yes and each time the day was sunny and warm!!! Worth the trip from Gloucestershire or anywhere.

I usually travel to Scotland (near Kinloch Rannoch) every year in March and October and drive this route at least once on every trip. As I have not been able to visit since October 2019 this video is a wonderful reminder of what have been missing. You even finished in the car park where I usually stop for a sandwich and walk around. I have now subscribed and will work my way through you other videos. Thank a million for what you are doing.

Rode this road on my motorbike in 2014 at the start of my week long tour of Scotland.On the last day of the trip I road this road again in the opposite direction on my way to Cairnryan and the ferry back home to Ireland.Thanks for bringing back great memories

We were up that way over the week 28th April - 5th march 2024. Got back yesterday in fact. I am so glad I have a decent dashboard Camera, it recorded the lot for me to treasure. We did it in memory of my late partner who sadly passed from cervical cancer in late 2018. She always wanted to vist Scotland, Loch Ness, The Highlands, The Isle Of Skye. So we saved up for a couple years after her passing, and me and my lovely mum did it for her... Absolutly breathtaking. We also stayed 2 days in Apple Cross. I'm putting a video together myself of the Holiday. It'll be up soon. We loved it that much we're going to do it again next year... The weather was stunning, it was 80 degrees at one point over the week...

Yes it is. In the day, I camped in Glen Etive over Easter every year, for seven years. Sometimes brilliant sunshine like your video, sometimes rain, and sometimes in snow. Always different. Loved the place.

I am the very proud owner of a 981 Porsche Cayman S since October 2020 - an import to Ireland from Porsche Centre Wilmslow, Cheshire UK - and I have been smiling like one ever since her arrival. I fully intend to take her on a trip to the beautiful Highlands. Looks like Connemara on steroids. 😎

I always try to get up to the Fort William area several times a year in normal times, will be going again in 3 weeks' time from Halifax. This is the most scenic drive in Scotland for me, alongside A84/A85 through Strathyre, and A835 to Ullapool from Inverness. A87 from Invergarry to Kyle is also a beautiful run. In England it's got to be A65 and B6479 from Skipton to Settle and up Ribblesdale. I'll never stop travelling these roads as long as I can help it...
