Day two of our weekend motorcycle tour begins on Lake Como. We set off towards the Italian alps and cross into Switzerland towards the Swiss alps. Riding the Maloja pass up to the beautiful Swiss lake -the Silsersee. The ride around the lake is as close as you can get to a coastal road in this land locked country.
The best Roads in Switzerland can be found in this region, after riding the Maloja Pass we took the Julier Pass and headed towards the Ski region of Lenzerheide and Valbella, a scenic drive through the forests of Switzerland. After a quick stop at the Walensee services we continued home on the motorway.

great movie that brings back great memories! have driven over the Simplon pass, on the way to Sion, and on to Lucerne. Switzerland is stunningly beautiful!

We also remembered, if you are heading to Switzerland there is a website called Hotelcard which gives you offers on hotels in Switzerland and surrounding countries. It's very date specific but usually there is a bargain on the weekdays. If you filter 50% and click map view for the date you are looking at you can see if there are any available. It's not very good for booking a day or two in advance as you mostly have to wait for the booking to be confirmed however for weeks in advance it works great. anyway if you find a hotel at a bargain price and you want to book it you need to be a member, here's a link that gives you 50% off. hotelcard.com/en/seanandemily-travels

What a gorgeous video I want to take my CRF1100 to that region, too. Not entirely sure what a single rider would do though. Drive around from place to place and eat here and there? How do you plan that? Do you use specific apps to navigate down interesting roads?

If you plan to do a trip drop us a line and we can suggest routes and cafes for you to stop at -there’s always lots of single riders on tour that you will meet on your travels.
