In reality, you can get good custom ones at a low price. My £30 custom build is my most popular one. There are decent prebuilt bats too that cost a bit less than that (I usually steer ppl to the Yinhe 01b or the Palio Expert if they really need something cheaper)
@TheBatGuy
@TheBatGuy Год назад
It's truly truly fascinating isn't it? I'm amazed myself and I play the darn sport 😃 I think it's a sport with the or one of the highest number of equipment combinations possible. In 2019, the ITTF said they had an all time record of more than 1,600 different rubbers registered as authorised playing rubbers. There are easily thousands upon thousands of table tennis blades, and because of how wood is no two blades are exactly the same. Table tennis rubbers also come in different thickness and you can vary the amount of table tennis glue (up to a particular legal maximum) to get different results. I absolutely love the amount of variety available 😆

I would say invest in a small rubber squeegee just to clean this rubber and use nonsticky protective sheets as much as possible. Clean with plain water and the squeegee. Dont use microfiber cloth, no fabric, dont rub it on your towel, nothing but wet hand or the squeegee.

does rubber cleaner kill the tacky?
@shogrran
@shogrran Год назад
problem with rubbers like this is that the tackiness wears off even after just a day. youd always have to replace the rubber at regular intervals and depending how much you use. otherwise youd get used to a certain level of "worn-ness" of the sheet which you maybe cant replicate come tournament time.
@TheBatGuy
@TheBatGuy Год назад
Oh the initial crazy tackiness of Target-series rubbers always wears off quickly. Which is good because you gain speed but retain the spin capabilities of this rubber. I have a friend who likes Target National rubbers and commented, "A Target is forever" 😆 because the playing capabilities do last for long time - a couple of years even, depending on how often you use it. The top sheet itself gets marks easily but the rubber still plays well regardless
@mallusaih
@mallusaih Год назад
probably intentional though. I would assume it becomes a better rubber after it wears down. Similar to what happens with professional yoyo pads that start a little weird and play perfectly once broken in

Sanwei Target Pro Blue is probably less deadly than their Target National rubber. Wouldn't say that the Pro Blue is an all out offensive rubber😬 - maybe for controlled offense. At some point you have to wonder whether they're still making rubber or a slow-creep form of contact cement. You can make a rubber surface essentially infinitely tacky if you don't care about durability or elasticity (retaining energy on bounce vs. dampening), but gotta wonder what the tradeoff is like a few months or a year after playing on it.

A true classic hard, tacky rubber. I had one 25+ years ago and still like it on some training blades (though for others not training for national teams I'd recommend mid hard or softer blades 😆). My go tos were the 729 Super FX and Globe 999 rubbers

@@hadyalbagu8615 np. When I did my research on the rubbers, orange sponge lasts longer than the blue sponge version. It's mainly a preference thing. You can play well with any rubber. You don't absolutely need to play with tacky/sticky rubbers

This is ridiculous. The logical conclusion of this process is that I think one day in the future people will be able to just get the ball on their racquet, and then walk over to the other side and drop it on the table. And yet people complain about the so-called anti-spin rubbers: anti spin does not impart any spin whatsoever, it is non-sticky and minimally grippy.
@TheBatGuy
@TheBatGuy 4 месяца назад
😅 Would be an interesting variation of the sport perhaps - you'd have to physically stop the other player from touching your side once, perhaps twice

@TheBatGuy

That's true - it still remains tacky but not at the level shown in the video. You don't want that level of tackiness in match situations at amateur level anyway - it slows the ball down a lot

I use hurricane 3 rubber and like how tacky it is, I saw this video and bought the same rubber. It wasn’t nearly as tacky and I was disappointed. It’s not bad, but it definitely wasn’t like this video, I still prefer hurricane 3.
@TheBatGuy

Ah - that's a pity! I may have gotten a particularly tacky one in the batch. The Sanwei rubber has a lower throw so if you still prefer the H3, keep using it - it's a good choice for many players
