Ray, I’m glad you’re okay. I’d like to tell you how much I appreciate your content, how professional and educational it is , delivered in a way that doesn’t make anyone feel unwelcome. That’s a rarity these days. Be well.
Ray..... you are a National Treasure. DONT EVER LET ANYTHING STOP YOU. YOUBARE HANDS DOWN, THE GREATEST OVERALL SHOOTER ALIVE.. GOD BLESS YOU SIR, and thank you very much for the inspiration 🙏
Hey Ray, I had an event that sounds like yours about 4yrs ago. I'm doing great now. I'm glad to hear you're doing good and I hope to shoot with you again soon. Thank you for all the knowledge you share.
I really love the new build Ray. Kenny sure has a gift in making some tac drivers. Have a happy and safe trip. Thanks for all what you do on the channel. Have a good week sir.
I just saw this video today on my feed, I hope you are doing better Ray. I have been following your channel for some time now, and can certainly compare your channel with lots out there, I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the content you put for us all...thank you very much for your hard work, and be well.
Good to see you getting back around and you look to be feeling a lot better!! I had asked you about some suggestions when I was getting my build figured out. I went with an Impact action, Bartlein barrel, MDT ACC chassis, Vortex Razor 6-36, Cortina Tuner Brake, and Ckye-pod. Just added the stock weight and seems to balance well for me, but I don't know much yet. Just starting. Weighed it out to just about 19.4 pounds. I decided on 6 Creed. Just posted video last week of me assembling everything and tomorrow evening I'll release my first shots and zeroing video. I'm excited to get into learning PRS and documenting my progress as I go. Your stuff has been a great inspiration to me. Appreciate your help and I look forward to what else I can learn from you. Gotta build myself some PRS barricades to practice from and rearrange some of my range to make a practice stage. Lots to do and learn, but I'll get it down! Have a great trip, Ray!
I'm glad you're still with us Ray!! It had to help that you've been taking care of yourself. (you get more respect from medical professionals that way) I hope your recovery goes without any issues, and you get to enjoy your family during your travels. I tell my boys I love them every time I speak with them because you never know if it'll be the last time. (even though it breaks the guy code)
Glad to hear you are ok and healing up. 🙏🏼 Really enjoy your channel and content. It has always been a favorite. The GT is an accurate little cartridge. I’m leaning towards a similar barrel for mine next, (Brux) large contour once I shoot out the current Bartlein MTU. Very easy round to dev a load for with varget burn rate powders. Freebore .120 chamber. It will shoot 105’s very well and also 115’s.
@X-RING Glad to hear of your recovery from the heart attack Ray! If when your in Jordan and do a trip to the Monastery try to be there for one of the night walks...they're amazing! the 1km walk from the start to the Siq is lit by candles the entire route and so relaxing! Also in Cairo the Guardian Guest House is the best place to stay...rooms with a view, rooftop terrace and over the road from the Pyramids and Sphinx!!! Great trips to be had!!
Glad your ok Ray! Im a heart attack survivor,95% block of my LAD,diet related too, I have a stent since,it took time but im like normal these days thank god. Trust me I understand the seriousness of your situation. Keep Your Spirits Up, It Helps the Most Brother🙏
Heart attacks are no fun! I've had 2 and have a heart full of stents now, just do what they tell you and you can probably etch out a lot more time for yourself. Will keep you in thoughts and prayers! Enjoy your travels, Ray!!
My nine year old grandson could hanle that, if his arms were longer. Always been a fan of a heavier barrel. Everything appeared to function as it should. As many before and will after, thank you for all that you do for this sport Ray. Stay safe, eat right, exercise, good, sound sleep. Take care....
Hadn't heard about your health scare but prayers are sent for you and hope you're doing much better. 👍🏼 Look forward to watching many more of your excellent videos in the future, Ray.
@@XRING .....Wishing you best of luck on the road to recovery, my wife was given about a year to live in Feb. 2009 unless for a double lung & heart transplant, then 2 years.....she said NO, ...... & SO THANKFUL for her Doctor Research skills & dedication she still rides her horses to this day. Moral of the story - NEVER too late to quit smoking & make some adjustments, ....... go to a top-fuel-diet, & Thankfully, like you Ray, she has been at a perfect weight all her entire life aswell as being physically fit, so no changes required there, never quit/never give-up !!!
The zeiss is exceptional, I'm new to them but mine has been excellent. The closet scope, I also have found to be very much like the Zeiss is the Leica.
Great rifle Ray , I’ve survived a heart attack in 2015 then a near death MVA in 2019 and now have Stage 3 Kidney Disease with major balance balance problems also so i now live every day like it could be my last and I almost left out a 8 hour back surgery in February 2022 and neck surgery C2 to C7 the day before Thanksgiving 2022
Glad you are ok Bro . Its crazy how shit can go sideways at moment notice . Keep hammering it and hang in there . Definitely jealous of that build . Ive been looking at Seeking Havak Hit Series in 6CM . Ive never really been a fan of the CMs until the 6mmCM came out. I shot my first PRS Gas Gun Match at PNTC last weekend. I did better than i thought i was gonna do but still did horrible lol . I should of shot my 6ARC but i didnt oh well . Hopefully PNTC will be doing another one in the Fall and ill gun my 6ARC then . Awesome video and absolutely phenomenal build
Glad you’re still kicking old man. Try 33.7gr Varget, cci450, with that Barnes 112. I’m at 2900fps out of a 26”GT with that. It also shoots 105, 109, and 110 atips well but those MB bullets are cheap and very consistent to 1300 in my experience. Still have case capacity to run faster but not the goal.
I would like to see how that Brux bbl groups after you work up a good load for it. Also, Eric Cortina swears by Brux. And obviously he’s no slouch. Lol.
Beautiful rifle and love the build and the explanation of why all parts were chosen. PRS use specific I’m sure it’s wonderful. Purely overall accuracy relayed, you mentioned around 0.8-1MOA. Did it ever tighten up? For the $$ that seems pretty “average” when you can get an off the shelf $800 Savage 10FP (or whatever is their current similar model) that will shoot sub MOA. I have a circa 2004ish 10FP w/ Choate stock and 24” barrel that can do 20 shots in a 2” circle at 200 yards shooting factory ammo (308 FGMM). Of course that’s apples and oranges to something that works well at PRS with perfect balance, low recoil, smooth action, etc. but just surprised the underlying accuracy potential is not better.
Thank You Sir! I like the Ultimate PRS build! Even four magazine variants worked. My rehab Dr is known as Dr T. Since then, the husband and wife physicians have expanded to a primary care practice. My main rule on changing my diet was the forbidden three Ts, no Tortillas, Tacos, or Tamales! 🤣👍🇺🇸
Re rifle balance, most rifles are not balanced correctly, even though they look cool for pics. Add 1/2 pound of weight to the cheek rest and see what happens to the balance. Chances are, your cheek pressure is probably much higher than 1/2 lb during actual shooting. With a competition rifle, we want the rifle to be forward heavy, this helps with stability while using the bipod and also helps counteract any cheek pressure that we may be applying in our firing position. Brakes with top ports (like the APA Gen 3) can help counteract this also. Ideally, we want zero muzzle rise just a straight rearward recoil impulse. If you experience muzzle rise with these small 6mm cartridges, you need more forward weight because the rifle is unbalanced in the shooting position and/or under recoil.
Glad to hear you’re okay, wish you a speedy recovery. Keep up the good work and awesome videos. I’m curious about something, I couldn’t help to notice that Chris shoots with his middle finger. Wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing with us how that’s working for him. He seems to have very good trigger control. Just curious to know why he chose to shoot with his middle finger and not the index finger. Thank you 🙏🏽
@@richardlewington5964 It looks comfortable, that’s why I was asking. It seems like he has his index finger and thumb ready to cycle the bolt and at the same time he’s ready to pull the trigger if he needs to. I’m going to have to try it out one of these days
Great video. Awesome rifles. Been watching your content over the past few months and I really appreciate all the knowledge you give. For a new shooter getting into long range and PRS would you recommend getting into a production rifle like a DD delta 5 pro, tikka tac a1, or would you recommend a custom build? Thanks for all the great content and hope you continue to recover and get back to full health soon!
I'll throw a couple cents into this if you don't object. I bought the earlier version of the DD pro in 6mm. Ran great except the bolt at the beginning was a hanger. 100 yard bug holes up until around 2600 rounds. It has 3300 on it now and definitely walking at longer distances. The barrel has been good. The issue I had and have is they claimed in their ad to have replacement barrels, not so. Maybe they've changed this, I haven't been down that road lately. I would recommend doing a custom action with a replaceable barrel. The buy once, cry once is better swallowed when in this sport. One needs to ask themselves what intentions for use will be. If one is eyeing anything in the competition world, the custom will be by far the better choice. If however one is not truely sure, just find something for under 1k, go out and run a few club matches. If the bug bites, then invest. Try a season of your club matches, a decision afterwards will save you tons. It's not only the exspense of the setup, it requires much trigger time, marksmanship fundamentals, group settings under a clock, etc.. The best rifles out there can only be as accurate as the individual behind it. In this, patience builds wisdom, skill is sometimes inherent or learned. The later requires the patience. Take a few courses from folks in the sport. There can be many avenues of choice. Mine would be, learn to crawl before walking and running.... Good fortunes to whatever you may decide. There will be pitfalls as well as mountain tops, keep expectations in a conservative corner and have fun......
Hey 22fella! Wondering, still have your Volquartsen Summit 10/22 reciever? Should get a Green Mountain 17" barrel or FJ Fedderson 17" barrel for it. Only saw one video on it. If it became a paperweight I'll gladly take it of your hands.
Got to try any 33xc’s raymundo..? I’d like to have a cartridge with that kinda power. I’m one of them guys…5’9”129lb I gotta compensate for something..
Wow, that is some good looking and performing rifle, as well as shooting obviously ;) Just one question: why would you not have the bag rider parallel to the barrel?
Hey Ray, I just bought a falkor action and am having some trouble with the bolt binding when at the rear. Did you have any issues like this and how did you remedy it? Thanks!
Also, curious why you chose the S3 over the S5 for the ultimate build? I have both the S3's and an S5 5-25 sitting in the box that I got for the price of an S3. Can't decide whether or not to give the S5 a go.
@avalentine4255 For me it was 4 things in particular. 1. S5 had a HUGE saddle area (area around the turrets) and this limited me on some of the uni mounts that I wanted to use. 2. Size of the scope itself 3. Having to use a t6 and a t8 for the wind/elevation adjustment 4. Price difference. I know the glass is definitely better and so is the reticle illumination on the S5. However , it was more of a personal preference. 👍🏼
Good shootin', show the impacts next time, please? On the health problems, take all the medical advice seriously and attitude, that is 90 percent of the journey. I use the word journey because it is the 21st century and 21st century medicine is amazing. You are going to be just fine, shoot STR8 ❗
