I actually really enjoyed this. I think current day ASMR is all getting a little too polished and for me that takes away some of the tingle factor, so to see and hear this much more 'lo-fi' ASMR was fantastic.
I totally agree! All these very professional Make up artist ASMR videos are just not doing it for me. I want the normal sounds that I would hear in real life, too. I prefer ASMR more like that, except maybe for Fred ASMR because he is awesome 😄
ASMR is a state of mind anyway. Triggers (like sound or visuals) help to achieve that state of mind, but they're not a necessity. That's why the quality of triggers aren't really relevant. Sometimes poor sound (or no sound at all) and poor visuals (or no visuals at all) help you reach that relaxed state of mind and tingling sensation. I once watched a tea ceremony video, there were hardly any sounds in it, but it still gave me that ASMR sensation. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nTth9hDFb-I.html
I used to watch this guy! I really miss the days of low quality recordings and very amateur roleplays. Feel like there was more creativity back then. Only so many high quality 4K cranial nerve exams I can watch.
Agreed. There used to be that guy Lloyd on here who roleplayed heaps of different characters in that era, and it was some of my all-time favorite content.
I worked in the luxury leather industry for years and those bags look like the real deal. Especially that blue Chanel. The stitching pattern is very tight and even. All stitching whenever its a fake or real is done by hand but the real stuff is always immaculate. Even spacing between stitches, no tag ends, no skipped stitches or crocked stitches, each stitch is of equal length. Those are the obvious signs of high quality leather.
I can tell you the watches are real. He has such rare watches that nobody even makes fakes for the kinds of watches he shows. And he's show literally millions of dollars of watches, so I have no doubt that the bags are real because the most expensive bag he shows is pennies compared to the cheapest watches he shows.
I think I started following him before he stopped posting, but I've known about him for years. Don't come for my boy. This dude is absolutely enthralling, especially his story videos. I hope he's doing well and staying weird.
@@meandbigboy You are absolutely wonderful. How many people have I seen begging you to come back to ASMR 😅 You have a gift. The x-factor for ASMR! You could show and tell anything and it would be riveting. ❤
I don’t know why, but these types of videos are some of my favorites. Something about the simplicity and of course the audio just does it for me 😅. Thanks for this. I love when you make these types of recommendation videos.
This is so weird, I used to watch his videos years back. I still dont know why, I think its the type of stuff he shows, and the crispness of his microphones.
I used to watch this guy and loved his videos. I think I was drawn in by his authenticity. He's just himself and showing what he's into, super relaxing. Also, I had no idea all his stuff was fake. Always wondered how he could afford all that :)
Omg I used to LOVE this guy's channel but it did always have a slightly eerie vibe somehow 😅 and yet I think I'd love to sit and have a cup of tea with him. I always just assumed he was a collector/investor of designer items so used the items for videos before he sold them. I used to love his past life roleplay videos the most.
My personal story I've made up for him that I think is probably in the realm of truth is that he is the child of very wealthy people. He almost certainly comes from old money. His and his family's taste is not new money. He's almost certainly from multi-generational wealth. And because of that, I'd bet good money he is from out East. Probably from New England or the Northeast in general but could be anywhere on the Eastern seaboard. I also think he's old money because he's clearly well educated and well mannered. It's a very old money thing to make your kids go to etiquette classes and he might have even went to a boarding school. He was classically educated, he has a better knowledge of poetry and other arts than non-old money people. He also has some fine art training himself and is actually a decent oil painter, which is also old money stuff. He strikes me as someone with intense mommy issues and probably has an extremely overbearing mother. He also strikes me as gay and I think that probably caused a lot of problems with his father and family in general. I think that's why he still lives at home with mummy. I personally love the guy and would love to just hang out with him and hear about his life. And that's my story for him.
I work in the jewelry industry, and I honestly think (when it comes to some of the jewelry at least) *it's real*. Of course, it is hard to tell from just video alone, but there are still indications in the colored stones were even if it were fake they would still be very expensive to own/recreate. One thing that stuck out to me was a ring where he shows green tourmaline and pink sapphires. To an untrained person trying to gain clout, why not call them emeralds and rubies? He has a lot of industry specific knowledge, if he doesn't work in that field then he definitely has a passion for it. I totally agree, this guy's aura and channel is totally strange, but I'm obsessed with the mystery! His talent for creating a very calm old style QVC home shopping network vibe is a gift. I've always assumed he was either VERY rich, worked in appraisal, or owned a store- or perhaps all three. I wish him all the best and hope he continues making content!
Yeah, I've seen those giant red spinels before, it looked legit to me. I wasn't sure about the 'blue and yellow sapphires' bracketing an amethyst, that one looked more like topaz to me, but I'm totally willing to be wrong!
He said in one of the comments of his videos that he’s a retired medical professional and has been collecting luxury items for decades. I wonder if he was a high paid surgeon or something 😅
47:46 I’m a jewelry designer and have studied precious and semi precious gemstone for over 15 years and how he named the gemstones on that ring is what caught my exact attention also! Funny. As he was naming the stones I thought to myself, “if it’s face he will probably call the deep green stones emerald…” But he called them green tourmaline. So yeah, I’m on the fence too. With the video quality it hard to be certain but he really knows his stuff when it comes to jewelry(not just talking about that particular ring). In any case, he did this asmr stuff well! I fell right asleep and was gone for about 30min. while watching this :)
I really like him too. For some reason his style of “selling” to us along with his voice is mesmerizing. I am sad that he stopped making videos but he is probably enjoying his retirement. I think he was a doctor.
I love these type or lo-fi videos! High production value stuff is nice too, but the lo-fi reminds me of some of my first ASMR experiences, ie - playing dress up and creating goofy home shopping network videos with friends.
Man, I remember this guy. I was subscribed to him when he was still uploading. He def had interesting tastes. All designer clothing and jewelry but honestly he was very good at asmr. I developed an immunity to asmr for a while and his vids were some of the few that actually gave me asmr. Sad he went away, always wondered what happened to him.
I never heard of this guy or his channel. This was fascinating, and relaxing. I loved all the questions you had at the end, I was wondering ALL those things. Then you said "please don't have me killed", oh crap, that made me laugh. Thanks for this great channel review vid.
The ASMR was all fine and good, but your hilarious commentary put it over the top 😂 This is why I come to your channel, you find the ASMR that I would have never found myself. Thank you for this 👏
I couldn't get tingles for awhile now. The min the video started and you started speaking boom. Felt again. Then when the videos started it kept going 😭💗
Omg I love this channel for so long!! I LOVE “regular” shot video with no fancy audio. So much more realistic. Definitely wish he continued! & yes Omg now I see the producer Michael comparison
WOW I found this guy years ago and had entirely forgotten about him. Must have actually been in the consignment business because I don't know how else you get your hands on his particular range of.... stuff. Bizarre guy but like you say I've got nothing mean to say at all, glad this has reminded me so I can watch through some of it again.
I think he and his family quite literally own all that stuff. No consignment shop is getting the variety, rarity, and cost of the kinds of watches that he shows by the dozens. I think all the watches and stuff is like 80% his parents and then like 20% his own. That's why there's so much female stuff, it's his insanely wealthy mother's. He comes from old, old money. Like New England, blue blood, old money. He's shown literally MILLIONS of dollars of some of the rarest watches in the world that even a dedicated watch specialist would struggle to put together. It looks like the lifetime collection of several extremely wealthy people. His great great great great grandpa probably circlejerked with George Washington type old money.
I have followed this man’s channel since the beginning. I don’t know why he stopped making videos but remember hearing that he was able to afford all the luxury items because he was in the medical field in some capacity. All I know was his videos were never long enough in my opinion lol.
@keep maybe his priority wasn’t on that and this was just something to do ?🤷🏽♀️ i follow plenty of RU-vidrs that will blog trips and things all from their phones cause they don’t care enough to use professional equipment.
@@rosalinamushroom4451I honestly felt like they were real. He always spoke about each item with such detail and showed close ups that I would be fooled if they turned out to not be real. But I think most, if not all were the real deal.
Thanks for sharing his channel. This guy has lots of knowledge and his tone is so humble- the best combination in a person. I hope he enjoyed buying all of his treasures and sharing them with us. Accessories are often used as statement pieces- so colors and styles are based on the statement you’re trying to make. Such a collection of expensive pieces looks like years of careful curating and I respect the care and description of each item. Designer pieces are not as unaffordable as one may think- if you know how to find things wholesale or have contacts who deal in rare items and antiquities. Well done meandbigboy!
I love your videos. Your voice is soothing. I watched an old video were you did an up close whispers. Wish you'd make a video using your voice with up close whipering! 😊
Oh wow. Two of my favourite ASMR artists, ElizabethASMR and Aubrae Bronach have deleted their stuff so this is a very welcome find. I really like channels best that aren’t really high quality but have some genuine sort of quiet gentleness and this person is fascinating. Thank you for sharing, I’m going to fall asleep to this presently.
@@KaterinaDeAnnika it’s so devastating when our favourite ASMRtists take down all their content. I respect their wishes but it does leave a gap. Do you have any other favourites who are still around?
@@jngaio I enjoy a lot of Grandma Shirley’s (Shirley Curry’s) videos, all unintentional. Sometimes her gaming or reading episodes are too loud, but often, there’s a whole episode that I can put on a loop and enjoy throughout the night. Out of her series, The Skeleton Episode # 3 is my fave at the moment, and her entire photographer series and Grandma Shirley’s Bookshelf series. I highly recommend! If you want Elizabeth ASMR though, a channel used the wayback machine to rescue a lot of her videos, including most of her game room tours. I’d definitely head over and enjoy those if you’re missing her!
@@KaterinaDeAnnika oh amazing thank you for the recommendation and the tip! I kinda feel weird watching Elizabeth’s stuff since if she deleted it I feel like that means she doesn’t want it online anymore and I kinda wanna respect that but I’m definitely listening to Grandma Shirley! Her voice is so soothing!
@@jngaio I think she was receiving a ton of trolls and negative content, although her husband still has his channel up and some videos of their game room. I’ve found listening to her videos now to be an homage to the good that she gave to us, although I’d love for her to get revenue from my RU-vid premium lol. If you’re watching Grandma Shirley now, tho, welcome to the family! You’re one of her grandkids!!! 🥰
Wow. I thought I was the only one who enjoyed this guy's channel. I've been watching him for years. I love the handbag videos most of all as well. Soul Repose ASMR is another creator that has some wonderful handbag videos. Happy to see so many others here who appreciate this man's channel though. I wish he was still uploading too and pray he's doing well.
@@meandbigboy oh yay!! So nice to hear from you. You're the best at handbag videos. So cool that you saw this. We all love you. Can we hope to see a new video one day in the near future? That would be so awesome.
@@meandbigboy Do you have more content for the future? Your channel is seriously one of my favorites right now. I love your style and sensibility, and you’re so soooooothing!! ❤️💫
Super funny how you were actually shopping with him and examining all the inventory enough to see if it was fake love and support to the creator as well
If the bags were fake then everything else probably was also. Who cares, this was great ASMR! Thank you for putting this together and posting. I've missed you while you were gone.
Ah I remember this channel. Another suggestion, a more recent channel would be Franta Jansky ASMR. She had a really relaxing voice but in almost every video she talks about her abusive relationship that she doesn't want to leave. Maybe if more people viewed her videos and commented it would help her out.
This video is amazingly relaxing, as are all of FindCalm’s videos. But I can’t help cringing a bit because the poor guy being reviewed (roasted) would be devastated if he ever saw this video. He’s obviously a little delusional, but I just think we could and should treat him more compassionately. However, I am very glad that FindCalm has returned to more frequent uploads and I’m especially glad to have more Bedtime Show videos because FindCalm’s voice is the greatest most soothing voice I’ve ever heard.
@@meandbigboy omg... Im in awe !!! Your video's are amazing to me and have helped me through my anxiety and depression for year's.... not to mwntion the amount of relaxation 😌... I wish you woukd come back.. we love you ❤
He's just a nice, homosexual gentleman who likes nice things. Reminds me of Liberace for some reason. I like his video, gonna have to find his channel now.
