Boy oh boy! What an epic story you gave us: an exciting adventure through thick scrub using your senses to find the way; a stunning waterfall with challenges to capture the best angles; some insightful and thought provoking conversation; a steep challenge on your journey back; then, a massive twist at the end with Lisa, saving the day! Oh my! I loved this video and seeing your enthusiastic approach to life and photography. Your smiles beamed. Great photos. Lisa. Great video, Brett. I'm sure you enjoyed a glass of red that evening to celebrate the day.
This might be the most beautiful waterfall location I’ve ever seen. So incredibly sorry about you losing your images…..but, the experience IS the reason we’re out there…you were right about that. I have no doubt you’ll return one day to capture those images again. Lisa got some magnificent photos. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
Hello Brett & Lisa! I'm not a big waterfall fan, but this one is spectacularly stunning and I would love to shoot it! In addition, I appreciated hearing about the corner you've turned --the one that allows you to simply enjoy your photography experience as opposed to shooting to please others. Bravo! (So sorry you lost your shots)
Wow what a spectacular find, sorry to hear you lost all your images however you have Lisa’s to reflect back on. (Stunning shots Lisa👌) Love the corner you’ve turned allowing you to enjoy your photography for you. Totally agree it’s all about enjoying the experience and appreciating the beauty that lies before you.🥰
Brett & Lisa, great video of a memorable exploration. I find your workshops are a awakening experience as not only do you learn valuable lessons on photography but you go away with having an experience of how beautiful the actual landscape is but also you capture your own personal vision and memories. Thank you
Brett, the pictures you failed are the pictures you will remember for the rest of your life. Think of Lisa as the third memory card in your camera. Great photos from Lisa.
Ouch, sorry to hear about the mishap with formatting the memory card Brett. A magical location, and well worth the effort in getting there. Lisa, your photos are beautiful.
Awesome video Brett and your thoughts on photography at a personal level. Social media has been great in many aspects but also it’s degraded the essence of it as well. Great words mate ! & important messages for others starting out on their own photography journey
Totally agree with a lot of the comments, awesome location and well done Lisa, all I can say Brett is I’m feeling your pain, but you can always go back. Thank you both for a great video.
Another great video guys and appreciate your compositional description & camera settings. It’s an amazingly beautiful & serene waterfall and Lisa’s photos are inspirational.
Beautiful photos Lisa. Know how you feel Brett, I did a similar thing from our Tasmania trip last year from the Gordon River cruise and then my entire 8 month trip of the NT in 2021, the hard drive collapsed on me, I lost all my raw photos. Only have the jpeg processed ones . Now exploring the Victorian High Country and I'm a lot more careful and won't be rushed. Look forward to your next video.
Brett - Another great video and adventure. Even tho you don't have the final photos - you'll remember this one for a long time. Lesson learned? Lol. Keep up the good work and videos. Cheers mate!
Wow! Could not agree more with your philosophy on taking photos now, kind of why I have stepped away from camera club and comps….. don’t really care what other people think😬 Ouch re-formatting your card🥲 But you’ll get back there for sure! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Wow!!! Great video and truly wonderful waterfall!!!! Sorry about what happens to your photos. But no matter what was a good experience. Hope you make it back again.
Wow awesome adventure guys, really enjoyed your video. What a stunning waterfall location, absolutely beautiful photos Lisa. Sorry to hear about your card Brett, it makes for a great reason to go back now doesn’t it? Totally agree on your philosophy of photography.
Wow that's a beaut color ridden waterfall and what a trek to get it but well worth it. Yes we all make mistakes, have done the same as you and Sunday went for a tiki tour out on the backroads of Whanganui towards Hunterville and found a Falcon cruising close by and very low over a maze field. My bird camera was already setup on the seat beside me, slammed on the brakes and rattled off 30-40 shots. Looked at them later and were all out of focus ! Numpty mistake ! somehow my bird custom mode settings had changed, shutter down to 1/250 for a bird in flight ! Normally 1/2500 minimum. Was a great drive and have some landscape shots ! Cheers
Wow awesome photos Lisa, and what an amazing location. When you go back you can take me with you 😂😅. I just love waterfalls and here in New Zealand we have more than our fair share of them, I’d love to go to all of them. Anyway a real shame you lost yours, but at least you have Lisa’s as a record, and the experience would have more than made up for it.
Great video Brett. I was planning on shooting this spot when I'm there in a few weeks. Useful to see conditions on the ground, so to speak, and reinforced that I really need to fit my waders into my luggage somehow! Shame about your memory cards though :(
Brett have you tried putting your memory card through a recovery app/software?? I have recovered stuff with disk drill on a Mac from apple App Store Worked perfectly Awesome spot by the way hate to see you lose those pictures 😢
@@BrettWoodPhoto I did the same got them back!. you can actually get stuff back if it’s been formatted a couple of times depending on some factors like card type, file, how many times it’s been written over etc etc but they always recommend stop as soon as you know you need to recover 👍🏼
Brett, it depends on how you formatted the cards. Normally only some control data on the card is cleared, not the data itself! This makes formatting fast. So pls try a tool, I am confident that you have a good chance. On the other side you have a reason to come back…
