In 2017 Ryan Day went out to California to recruit Jack Tuttle. He calls Urban Meyer and says the hell with Tuttle we need his wide receiver Chris Olave. Olave is a star in the NFL and Tuttle is what ? QB for UM. What a joke.

The downward spiral has just started. The Monday before The Game your response to the notice of allegations is due. Once the NCAA unleashes on you 90 days later... good luck getting a new coach or commitments.
Jim Harbaugh has won 69% of his games as an NFL Head Coach and came within 7 yards of a Super Bowl win. He also made Stanford a top 5 program. Stalions was nowhere around for any of that.
@@paulday5722 It doesn't matter what his accomplishments were. He cheated. End of story. Also, he likely could have had other people cheating for him. You can be certain that Stalions isn't his only pawn and fall guy. Harbaugh himself was caught cheating during COVID. He was contacting and meeting recruits even though recruiting activities were prohibited. So....🤷♂
It is super disappointing on how this has gone and how bad they look. First year in 45 years of being a fan that I have turned games off cause they are unwatchable. Hopeful that next year is very different
Everyone was clamoring for Sherrone. The players, the media, and many many fans. I advocated for Warde to do a search (it was late anyway, might as well) and everyone thought I was stupid. Now everyone says he should've done a search. I don't remember many saying that last January.
Absolutely. Sherrone's first change was putting music in the locker room. Bad move. Harbaugh was all about focus and discipline. Moore's squad is distracted. He is everyone's friend.
Interesting, hadn't heard that. If he did, I certainly have to agree, especially since not everyone likes the same music so it's really distracting when that happens. Leave the music for later, there has to be times to get focused for the work ahead.
He also said that he cut down on the number of meetings that Harbaugh used to hold. Said it was too monotonous or soemthifn . Now seeing how bad this team is with the small details , it was obviously not a great move
Funny, hearing the same thing at Bama. Before season people were saying how things were different and how DeBoer was a player's coach. The example was that he allowed music to be played at practice, unlike Saban. How has that been going for Bama. Does that look like your typical disciplined focused Bama team. Mich & Bama fans having similar thoughts.
The predominant reason for this failure is we don't have an adequate QB, and even if we did, who in the WR corps would he even throw to? Further, QB has been a long term problem; having only 3 adequate QBs in ten seasons! Sherrone Moore should have known this, and pushed the transfer portal, pushed Ward Manual, rattled some chains early.
*There a big difference between losing competitively and not belonging on the field at all. Sherrone Moore is in over his head. He’s an excellent O-line coach. A very good OC. But Michigan isn’t the type of program to START your head coaching career, but where you aspire to end up after you head coach your way up the ladder in other places. Go Blue.*
Is he really a good OC or did he just have a truck load of NFL players and a generational QB last year? Much of the play calling last year (except in the Rose Bowl) seemed simpler than was necessary given the 8 or 9 NFL players we had on the field at the same time for the offense. The offense still could have been even more dynamic last year, given the talent we had.
UM alum here. The product on the field is pretty much unwatchable. This weekend was the first time in quite awhile that I turned off the game well before it ended because the play was so pathetic. I think for OSU 2019 I left a bar early cuz that game was so out of hand in the second half, but that was against OSU. Michigan couldn’t compete with Illinois last Saturday. ILLINOIS! When you have nothing at QB yet still try to play like you do, this is the result.
Not sure why Harbaugh isn’t to blame for most of the roster issues. He didn’t really try to recruit or develop these multi year qbs and he left late and abruptly.
There isn’t exactly a top roster there but there is plenty of talent on the roster to have a 9-10 win team . Mulitple 1st round picks . Jimmy left Moore a fine roster . Coaching is the issue
Because he at least built a culture here. It was supposed to continue with this coaching staff. They said it would . We all fell for it. Now we are where we are.
I have been watching Michigan since 1978 and I can tell you that Steve is 1000% correct. This is the WORST coached Michigan team and that includes the Rich Rod and Hoke years. RR failed at overhauling a program that he did not fit in and Hoke went 11-2 before allowing AD Dave Brandon to begin coaching and recruiting instead of Hoke himself. Sherrone Moore was not ready for such a program. He was NOT left with a bare cupboard either and NO EXCUSES for not going to the portal to get a QB. Moore was a terrible hire. LET HIM GO and hire a proven football staff.
How do you have 15 turnovers thru 7 games and expect to even have a winning record? One game they didn't turnover the ball they won against a pretty good team. The TOs are also coming on the short side of the field so the defense has no chance. I like Moore, I like that he got a shot, but he is clearly not ready to lead this football program. The question is will Warde have the backbone needed to make a change.
What good team are you talking about? USC? They’re 3-4 on the season and practically dead last in big ten. They lost to Minnesota. They lost to Maryland. Maryland couldn’t even beat MSU. Don’t fool yourself. Michigan has ZERO quality wins this season.
Thanks Harbaugh!!!! Guts the team on exit, hasn't set us up with even the most BASIC foundation for actual football and Steve is still showering him w praises? Idiocracy.

Why, for winning a Naty, building disciplined powerhouse, then deciding to coach in the NFL. Moore inherited far more talent then the coach at Indiana and they are going to beat us like a drum.
@@scottlaux6934disciplined? How many fired coaches, NCAA investigations and federal investigations is it going to take for it to be considered undisciplined for you? 😂
You mentioned Notre Dame’s QB room. My son played football with their 3rd string QB, Kenny Minchey. He is Fing AWESOME! Kenny is now a sophomore. When the Boys were seniors in high school, I asked Kenny is Michigan showed any interest at all. The answer was NOOOOO! It blew me away. This kid has an amazing arm. I believe he will be the starter at ND next year and if not the year after.
Funny, Harbaugh (and other coaches as well) could be so easily enamored by athletic 'project' QBs like Milton and Orji, and overlook guys like who you mentioned. There are likely many QBs more capable than either of those (and the other 3 on the roster) that Harbaugh overlooked that M would really benefit from being on the team right now. Really astounding this crew is what we ended up with despite so many other possibilities.
The experiment didn’t work…just broom the coaching staff, and start fresh in 2025…you have LOTS of time to find the right HC. But DONT hold onto any of these coaches…they belong in HS. Easily recoverable if we act FAST.
Agreed, just like we did with basketball. We now instead of another year of Howard destroying the program, we got a real coach and saved the program and are looking forward to this season and beyond

A couple weeks ago Steve said he had no problem with the coaching. He also said we wouldn't see Tuttle and Orji was the answer. I could go on but for someone who at times seems to have an informed opinion he doesn't often seem to see the forest for the trees. Or maybe this is all just a hobby for him and he doesn't really care about accurate analysis. The fact is this team had a chance to have a decent year with the talent they had but coaching and play calling has been suspect from the beginning. This was not a year to develop a quarterback that probably won't be here next year anyway. Instead playing to your strengths and working on getting better with the run game, decent defense and perhaps great special teams play. No penalties or turn overs and this season could have been interesting at least. I think Wink needs to be the head coach at least or he too needs to move on.. Something very weird about your coaching dynamics when your defense coordinator has 30 more years of coaching experience than your head coach. As usual with Michigan the problems start with the AD then trickle down to the coaches and player situations. It looks like we can't even get back to regular old Michigan football where we win 10 games and then lose our bowl game. Maybe Sherone will grow into the job but it's liable to be a painful learning curve. Certainly going to take better recruiting and game management. I wonder what Steve's opinion will be next week..
This is not talked about enough. I don’t generally think Moore should get the axe in year one UNLESS he loses the locker room and our best players start faking injuries.
Listen, I’m an MSU guy but also respect UM. The amount of panic after 7 games is astonishing to an objective viewer. This is a 38 year old, first year head coach coming off a championship year where, frankly, Harbaugh screwed yall. Relax. The entitlement of UM after a couple years of success is unbelievable.
When harbaugh left he took every coach who helped build our program,we lost a ton of talent and leadership and we all knew this was going to be a tough year, still we didn't expect it to be this bad Moore can still save this season but it's going to take a huge effort from players to coaches Hope for you best Go BLUE.
Yall acted like "culture" and "development" were exclusive to Michigan. Now the entire nation sees who Michigan really is... a second rate program that overachieved.
All I heard from UM fans was "Sherrone was great leading the team during the Harbaugh suspension, and he will lead us to more greatness." Moore filled in for 4 hours per week, but he was not leader of the program. Two very different sets of responsibilities, folks. That did not make Moore a bad coach, it just meant that he had not yet been responsible for the whole program. How about UM at 4-8 this season?
The race for Cignetti is gonna interesting. Michigan doesn't care about football though so it we'll keep this failure going for another couple seasons.
You have played 4 QBs Here is their record 3 passing TDs 9 interceptions 3 fumbles!!!! The rumor is the team will get some unknown sickness so they dont have to come to Columbus and get a royal butt kicking!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, putting Orji at QB and Mullings at RB and just running the ball 85% of the time on offense and playing base defense should’ve got this team to 7-5. No coaching would’ve been better than this staff.
Jim had a solid record from the start. Especially when the games he lost were close for the most part, minus Don Brown getting smoked by OSU. A fumbled punt and a bad spot from even being much better. 10-3 10-3 8-5 not good 9-4 tolerable Covid don’t count 12-2 13-1 15-0
Just let this sink in, Michigan grads have better things to do with their lives than care what obese, middle management at best, OSU fans think. It is obvious you have nothing of worth in your life than OSU football. But hey, keep writing those $5 checks to your booster club.
@DFH13019X I think those records don't tell the story. Most of those years it was a weak BIG10 with 1 or 2 ranked teams that UM played. He consistently lost to top10 opponents. I can't blame him for thr BIG10 being weak tho. UM was great at beating teams they should beat, but never over achieved untill......pending investigation.
The michigan squad last year didn't even need a head coach. It was solid from top to bottom. All Sherrone had to to was not screw it up. The "penalties" assessed to harbaugh were laughable. Then, he lit the dumpster on fire and walked away...thinking all the while that he was a hero. Instead, he's an embarrassment to the university and to college athletics. He's a coward who left an inept coach to oversee the burning dumpster. Bo Schembechler....rest his soul....would have never cheated, let alone denied every accusation that was levied upon him. What you are seeing this year is perfect storm of bad coaching, lack of talent, and a team that has a bullseye on it's chest....not from winning a natty....but from cheating it's way to a natty. It's great to hear that you don't care about the um wins and losses the next few years, Mark. As you have stated, it's going to be ugly. If Day "hangs 100" on the program, it will be deserved. Of course, that's if there isn't an "outbreak" that forces um to cancel the game this year.
The funny part is they neglect to mention that with all the qbs being in the program for multiple years, their lack of development falls on harbaugh. He did not recruit JJs successor, and was just going all in on trying to win a natty and go back to the nfl. So, the qb problem does not belong to Moore, he didn't get hired until 3 weeks before spring practices and had to run with what he had
I blame him for everything here. flat out. I love that he got us a natty, but he basically gutted the coaching staff on the way out, and he refused to recruit/develop a QB the last 2 years. and it screwed us.
Never. He was brought in to win a Natty. Thanks and good luck on your next coaching path. Any coach brought in is expected to win, not expected to say forever. This is the same expectation as NIL recruits. Win and see ya. Memories is all you're left with.
It's a down year, Moore deserves one more year after this too. Yes, it's painful now, because it's likely going to get a little worse. Not sure whether Covid can come back this year to avoid the 2024 Big Game.
What Harbaugh bears a fair amount of responsibility for is lack of a serviceable QB after JJ (and before Davis). An uncomfortable truth we mostly ignored last year was that if JJ fell to injury, the NC wasn't happening because we didn't have anyone else. Beyond that, Moore made his choices and the offensive strategy this year just seems incoherent and sometimes utterly nonsensical, and that falls squarely on him.
Steve, I’m a die hard Ohio State and I’ve followed you since your days at KXNO and not trying to start anything with this comment, but if you want hope it’s time to call Danny Hope.

Every nfl position drafted between Michigan and OSU except for qb and receiver that has come from Michigan has been exponentially better than their counterparts from OSU in the league from 2020-2024…check the numbers.
What does anyone expect when the program (Warde Manuel) makes the same mistake they/he made in basketball hiring a head coach with no head coaching experience! 🤷🏻♂️
That was the most open the WRs have been. I think the Illinois DBs were easily the worst since maybe Arkansas St. I had no idea the QB room was so poor. All eyes on Kirk Campbell.

Reminds me of the coach Fickell year as interim HC at Ohio State. Good luck firing your 1st black HC after year one. The negative recruiting will be dialed up to 11.
I don’t see it. We’ve got so much going against us that I don’t see Moores race being viewed as any kind of benefit or deterrent to his ouster. These kids follow money, system fit and playing time, otherwise wouldn’t we have already seen an uptick in commits and transfers?
I predicted it when they announced Moore, I congratulated all UMs rivals. Moore was last years Gattis. Veteran offense filled with leaders & great DC won those games. What real program that really wants to win just skips a national coaching search? Moore wasn't even really the OC it was all JH. Moore & Warde need to be fired asap before it turns into years and years of misery. The whole staff needs to go. Bring in a proven HC drop some loot and let's get back to competing. No one will wanna play for Moore after this year, media. coaches, fans all ripping the coaches plus what they've seen with their own eyes. Moore has no excuses he has been here for years and it's his side of the ball. Horrible hire
Having gone to UM, as well as having kids who graduated recently, let me say unequivocally that that institution is obsessed to an unhealthy level with DEI in all facets. There was no way that Moore was not going to get that job, even though there are probably dozens of better candidates of all races. Moore seems like a good solid guy, so I hope he turns it around, but I think if they lose to MSU, and get housed by Oregon and OSU, he is gone. My only comment on personnel is that 7 games into the season if Jadyn Davis can't be thrown out there to get some experience, then he wasn't really a 5 star recruit. Five star recruit means ready to play immediately at the collegiate level. Staring at a 5-7 or 6-6 season coming off a championship is pathetic, and not having a top tier QB in the portal era is inexcusable. What we have unfortunately is the Ann Arbor version of Mel Tucker, minus the phone sex. Great point about opting out as well...the portal and NIL has made this basically professional football, and the stakes are too high for elite players to play in meaningless games. I think a lot of these "nagging" injuries among better players may already be showing signs of not wanting to risk it. Lastly...look for Quinn Ewers to leave Texas...Sarkisian is going to get immense pressure to get Manning on the field before he tucks tail and leaves for Ole Miss.
After the Wolverines go 5-7 this year it's going to be even more bleak. The best talent currently on the team will either go to the NFL, graduate, or hit up the transfer portal. Most of those shiny "recruits" will begin to de-commit perpetuating a multi-year recruitment death spiral. Due to the culture of Ann Arbor, Moore will not be released from his contract early. So, 2 and a half more seasons of mediocrity before the Athletic Department cleans house, and then some poor schmuck gets hired to rebuild the program which will take years. 2029 or 2030 will be the first year Michigan Football is relevant again.
we all knew there would be a massive step back, but not to this level of diappointment. nearly dead last in all metrics, a complete team and staff turnover and a lack luster recruits and lack of NIL we turned into a laughing stock in 6 months. been a MIchigan fan for 25 years and this is the worst season I remember. 7 Qbs on the roster and none of them can do a damn. we had some crap coaches over the years but this by far is the worst stat line ever. im already writing this season off, if we dont get a top 5 class back into obsucity we go. sad time to be a Michigan fan

Steve is spot on. This ain’t your dad’s BIG conference anymore. It’s gone. Let this Michigan debacle be a lesson to all other teams. We are in the win now or else era. A one or two loss season is now considered a rebuild season. In the past it was 8-4, 9-3. As a Penn State fan, I hope this doesn’t happen when Franklin makes his exit someday. This was a colossal transitional failure. Anyway Steve, keep up the good work with this channel.
Are you suggesting that Sherrone "Mouthbreather" Moore is the worst Weaseline coach you have ever seen? Shocking! It's almost like nobody told you guys to expect this.
I'm willing to give sherrone moore another year, but he needs to get a new OC and DB coach in the offseason. I think wink is doing ok, not great, but the defense would be WAY better if the offense was actually competent. this year is already a throw away. We wont even make a bowl game. My biggest concern now is losing all our good recruits like Andrew marsh and babaloa who just committed and all the others. And idc what anyone says, I love what harbaugh did and that he got us a natty, but a big reason we are in this spot is because of him.
Steve, here’s where your analysis fails. Your supposition of Moore being held to account depends on his boss, Warde being competent. Manuel has proven that he is not as he allowed this to develop under his watch. It’s not as though JH’s departure was unexpected. Manuel should have had three HC’s on speed dial and he should have known the status of personnel. Yes, this now like the NFL, and Warde and Moore are not up to task. Warde will not jettison Moore this year or next. It’s Juan 2.0
OK, but you are assuming that a good coach would voluntarily take the top job at Michigan. With the cluster !@#$ that is both the Athletic Dept. and school admin. in a huge mess. With the NCAA breathing down your neck Plus, the sanctions coming. Which will handicap any future coach and his ability to turn things around. Who would want this job?
I am 100% Illini and I never thought I would see Michigan football look like that. The Illini are good but not that good. We will NOT be in the playoffs, but it is still nice to matter some in the Big Ten.
It’s the absolute worst coaching and team in Michigan Football history . Yes worse than Rich Rod era . Tired of hearing “we need to play better” Moore is way over his head
Some of my favorite radio ever was 700-WLW when Dave Shula coached the Bengals. Chris Collinsworth was great every week night. He likely drank bourbon alone in an unlit room after those shows. If this persist wolverine football may be as much fun as that was.
@@hijj7676 No amount of cheating helped Michigan dominate on the lines of scrimmage last season. We man handled everyone with physicality, and skill. And if you watch football you would see that.. Just like no amount of cheating would help this team be anything more than 4-3. Michigan has the absolute worst coaching staff in the country and the only reason we’re not 0-7 and ranked 130th in the country is because we have some left over talent from Harbaugh.
You think Jim Harbaugh didn't understand the QB situation at Michigan for this coming year? He knew exactly what was happening. Now he gets to spend his winters in San Diego instead of the bitter snows of the midwest.
Crazy thing is with all you know as fans about what was going on with Connor stallions, and looking at harbaugh record before conner served in any meaningful capacity on the staff, and harbaughs record specifically against ohio state and against top ten teams, how do you not see that clearly this team truly was doing some cheating the last three years
It wasn't Stallions, anyone that understands and has played significant football knows it wasn't that much of an impact. The difference was quarterback play. Michigan finally had an NFL level quarterback. Quarterback play is pretty much everything at this level (just look at the team this year, no QB).
All stallions did was make it so other teams had a harder time stealing our signs. We were doing literally nothing to stop it before and are doing nothing now. Every team has a massive advantage over us now on top of having garbage coaching and qb play
Explain the last half of the season after he was gone. Every team had already changed their signs lol. I’m sure their 3 year run had nothing to do with replacing Don brown with Mike McDonald (who is currently HC at Seattle) and Minter (who is DC for chargers). Is that why Hutchinson is as good as he is then he was a heisman finalist in 2021? Or why JJ is a top 10 pick? Or why Moody is one of the best kickers in the league? Why Michigans OL won awards in 21 and 22? They were mauling opposing defenses. But yeah, cry about cheating. 🤣
I’m not sure where the great OC thing came from. To my eyes UM offense was much less diverse and very predictable when JH wasn’t on the sidelines. It never appeared to me SM had much other than SMASH and JJ bailing out on 3rd down.
The thing that frustrates me is we have so much talent, and completely suck. Many games our RBs are cooking and we run 40% of the game trying all these passes that are not working. Our Defense is getting tired because they are on the field 80% of the game, and our DC starts making stupid gambles because he feels like he has to win the game. I have heard the theory that we are passing so much because other teams are negative recruiting us telling QB/WR they will be handing off, and blocking every play if they go to Michigan.
How can a "great coach" go 3-5 against Ohio State and was afraid to play Ryan day one year. ALSO in his 9 years at Michigan he lost ELEVEN games to Top 10 teams and was upset TEN times by teams outside the top 10
Because his tenure ended with TN stuffing ohio state in a locker even when he wasn’t on the sideline and putting up the greatest single season in cfb history

Let me clear a few things up: 1. Sherrone Moore and this coaching staff will be here in 2025. Warde Manuel will not fire Moore after 1 year; and he will not fire any of his coaches he just hired. 2. None of the players have publicly expressed distrust or discontent towards their coaches. As a matter of fact, Donovan Edwards, Colston Loveland, and others just this past week cane out and publicly supported Moore and staff. 3. These losses are not hurting recruiting. It's actually helping it. 5-star OT Andrew Babalola just verbally committed to Michigan. And rumors are running rampant online that Dave Portnoy is spearheading an aggressive pursuit of 2025 #1 overall player QB Bryce Underwood using big donor $$$ in the multi millions. Just read an article saying that it's gotten Underwood's attention. Lastly, these higher rated players can definitely see the opportunity for immediate playing time. The last thing I'll say is while what's happening in Ann Arbor is unfortunate and hard to watch. Let's remember that in 2020, we all thought Harbaugh was toast after an abysmal 2-4 Covid-19 shortened season. Many of us wanted him not just fired, but his name removed from Michigan lore forever! But he turned it around by finding his QB just before the season ended. That find ultimately led him to saving his job, and putting Michigan on a path to winning a Natty just 3 years later. I think we need to give Moore his shot to turn things around next year before any talk of firing him is had. Who knows, maybe they'll get Jaden Davis' parents permission to play him in the last 4 games this year to preserve his redshirt and prepare him to be the "guy" in 2025 in case they can't land an elite guy through the portal. Let's all just chill and keep level heads! We were here only 4 years ago! And things turned out more than alright didn't they?
And here's the bad news: Moore was hired and put his staff together under the cloud of sanctions. U of m isn't getting a top notch head coach or assistants until sanctions come and are over. Harbaugh adopted a win at all costs philosophy and now we are seeing what the cost was.
