My dog's generic word for all their treats is "SAUSAGE"! They only get small bits of dried sausage because it has a high salt content, so it's not really a healthy option. But if I'm driving out somewhere and leaving them in the yard, they get rowdy and freaked out. I tell them, "Sshhh, STAY. Momma's going to bring you SAUSAGE!". They quieten down and the tails wag. You could say that they have no concept of time and are just thinking this is an offer for an immediate reward, but long experience tells me they know the game. When i get home they are waiting, they crowd around to sniff the shopping bags to find where their SAUSAGE is. And of course, good dogs always get their treats! 😄👏❤️🐾
