I’m with Jenks, when I was younger I loved this, remember watching it at the cinema when I was about 16. Watching it recently I couldn’t see what I was getting excited about. I also noticed that the version I watched recently had a totally different soundtrack to what I remember from the 80s.

Yeah, don't get me wrong it's far from a perfect film and nowhere near as special as the first, but I was very surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it on rewatch...but I'm a sucker for bad films as Jenks knows 🤣

The first one was what Troma would have done if they had a decent budget, the second one was a straight up family friendly comedy that could have easily starred Jim Varney as Ernest P. Worrell. It probably would have been better if it was an Ernest movie, "Ernest VS The Living Dead", I would have paid to see that.

Oddly, enough, when I was a kid, I thought this Tarman was scarier. But, now as an adult, I realise that it doesn't hold a candle to the original Tarman😊

Why do so many people hate this film? I've loved it since it came out and I still love it to this day, yeah it's not a patch on the first film but come on, I could name 50 worse zombie movies out there, probably a lot more. ROTLD2 is a fun, silly, campy, popcorn flick, it's well made, has decent make up effects and it's absolutely bonkers, if people can't have fun with it then I don't know what to say lol It's a BILLION times better than the Godawful Necropolis or Rave to the grave sequels. If this wasn't marketed as a sequel to ROTLD, it would looked back on as near classic from the 80's. Loads of people seem to hate on it just because of that. I mean, come on, how many people who've watched this can HONESTLY say they didn't laugh at 'Get the damn screwdriver, outta my head'? 🤣

Absolutely amazing points here! This is coming from Curtis (the one defending it in the video) 🤣 it's an extremely fun movie that is a million times better than 90% of zombie movies and I had a fair few laughs out of it. Enjoyed that comment, so thank you for commenting!

Yes. The screwdriver scene used to be my go to scene when I was a kid. Loved quoting it at school. Problem was, I was the only kid who'd seen it 😂

Not worse. One of the most underrated? Definitely. How could zombie fans not appreciate this fun, creepy movie? The bully kid zombie is a highlight...good performance. I like the suburban setting, and how the heroes run from house to house, like a maze, always afraid a zombie will jump out. It's pretty funny too.

100% agree with you! I hadn't seen it in years and was pleasantly surprised as to how much I enjoyed it! It's light hearted corny fun. Not a patch on the first, but as a standalone film, very enjoyable

Far from worse. This movie may be a weird comedy remake in some ways but it's still an entertaining film. Not as good as the original but still really fun. There are a ton of really bad zombie sequels. Even the last two Romero ones were really bad.

The worst are Return of the living Dead parts 4 and 5. Parts 2 isn’t as good as part 1 but, it’s still watchable. Part 3 is totally different and stands out. But, it’s definitely a good film imho.

I can answer this with our watching the video, no this isn't the worst zombie sequel. This is better than the last 2 entries in this series, better than House of the Dead 2, I'd watch this over most Resident Evil movies, and id say its better than the last 3 Romero of the Dead Films.
