WE ARE THE SAME!!! brothers from different mothers!!! no matter if it was Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Albania, Montenegro, Greece, Bulgaria, European Turkey, i always felt welcomed by everyone! these were the only countries out of the over 40 i have visited where people were happy we were visiting! the best vacations we had were honestly in the Balkans!

Less than 30 years have passed since the Yugoslav wars, and many people have died. Since the bombing of Serbia, when Kosovo broke away, only 15 years, and tens of thousands have died. In the region, it would take decades to heal wounds, but politics prevents this, as long as it is in the interest of a great power to pit local ethnic groups against each other.

Some Balkan countries don't like each other, but the people of Balkan countries love each other. They are straightforward - what you see is what you get, no pretense. If you become friends with someone in the Balkans, they're your friend for life. We love to eat a lot (but quality food) and drink a lot, but we're hardworking and really enjoy life (we party a lot). Our women are great, very attractive, but also strong in character and mentally/emotionally tough (fierce). Every Balkan country is different from the others, yet so similar. If someone wants to have a great time - like for vacation, sightseeing, food, women, men, fun - the best place is definitely the Balkans. Greece and Croatia are perfect for sightseeing and vacation. Women from any of the countries are great, men from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro (some of the tallest men in the world on average). Food from any country is good, and entertainment is great everywhere. One more thing - foreigners won't feel better anywhere in Europe than in the Balkans. We love to meet and share experiences with others more than people from other parts of Europe. Just a note, be honest, natural, don't be too smart, and enjoy. Croat.

I'm from a large family and when we're together things can definitely get a bit loud. But we won't put any pressure on shy people, we'll just go and talk to them in smaller groups if they want us to. That's a good thing because there's a rather Quiet, somewhat Shy Gentleman who means a lot to me. We've known each other since we were teenagers, He's Liked (been attracted to) Me since our 20's. But it took over a decade for Me to feel the same way about Him. I'm youngest of 8 kids, 6 girls and 2 boys. My Maternal Grandpa was one of at least 9, as was my Dad. Thanks to this video I understand a bit more about some replies I got to a couple of comments I made in 2 Cellos videos from of them. I understand it wouldn't be easy to adjust, but try not to make members of the other sex uncomfortable. I only get forceful when I need to. There a couple of things about Aussie Culture you'll need to understand to fit in. In general everyone is welcome here no matter where you're from or what you look like. Just one last comment.

There is one old saying, legend or.. about one family , they were very rich in old meanings and stuff.. and one day in thunderstorm beggar came and ask for shelter, food, anything.. They refused to give him hospitality and chased him away. This beggar was no one other than one of gods in slavic pantheon and he cast a curse on them.. and because of that, most of this people give everything to anyone who stumbles upon your house.. or are afraid what will your neighbour say about you..

Ya ppl beter visit former Yugoslavia (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia and Northern Macedonia), you will be treated as our own, because we don't make much differences between the strangers and the folks we grew up with. However, there might be some weird stares in smaller towns, as they haven't been really accustomed to having foreigners swinging by. However they'll also be as warm as the rest of us.

Checking Out someone we find attractive is our way of paying someone a compliment, but don't linger it can make us uncomfortable. If you're looking for a date, here's an example. Start by Checking Her Out, She'll probably Check You Out in return. Here's the important to understand if She comes up and starts talking to you, She's Interested. But if She doesn't her answer is "No!" and you need to respect and understand that. You don't need to accept something someone does that goes against your personal beliefs. But you need to keep it to yourself. Don't just say whatever comes to mind. "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!" are words to live by. If you say or do something that hurts someone, you'll get yourself into big trouble with the people around you. You might even find yourself under arrest. If you're a man looking for someone to spend your life with. Don't expect an Aussie Lady to do all of the cooking 🍳 or Housework. Very few if any of us will want anything to do with you. Expect to remain single for a very long time. If you want to impress a Lady, cook dinner for her. That's also the same in the UK and US. One big thing that we'll absolutely love about and have in common with you is your willingness to help others. If we come across someone who might need our help 😣, we'll be right there with them as well. We can definitely get emotional too.

I'm just gonna copy my comment under the original video. 1. 100% true. Every single time Balkan families gather, it becomes soooo loud. Also, food. You can't have a social gathering or just a party if there isn't food. Why? Because Balkan food is amazing! 2.Rakija is awesome. Of course, you must have some kind of salad to accompany it. It's like zakuski and vodka - they go together. 3. It is kinda true. There is a lot of bad blood between Balkan countries. You can't just erase that. We are striving to have a good relationship with each other, but sometimes things can get out of hand. Personally, I am never going to hate someone, who is from, for example, Serbia, just because he is a Serb. 4. Um....no. We are not rude. We are just very straight with people. Painfully straight, sometimes. 5. Sadly, this is kinda true. If you are not wearing some kind of brand, you lose your status or something like that. Personally, I never cared about brands as long as I feel comfortable in those clothes. 6. Balkan women are fearsome. They are not like the western women. Balkan women are strong, passionate and can get very scary if you upset them. The one stereotype I'm so tired of hearing is : "Oh, you speak Russian". No, you idiot, I speak Bulgarian!
@minamince8643
@minamince8643 8 месяцев назад
this is the same for brandy, that's why in the Balkans people live up to 120 years old. Otherwise, it's nothing strange here to start drinking brandy at, for example, 9-10 years old

Personally vocally I'm not exactly a loud person, but I have very expressive eyes and love to be observe other people. So long as I manage to get a word in every now and then. That doesn't mean I don't ger passionate about life and I'm definitely a People Person. There are definitely loud passionate people whom I love including those who equate food with love 😍. I was definitely an appetite on legs as a child and teenager. These days I'll let you know when I've had enough to eat and yes I've been asked "Are you sure?" I'd never be deliberately rude, but I know how to be forceful enough when needed. I'm not above taking leftovers with me, when they're being offered. I'm not a big drinker, but many of my fellow Aussies are. I enjoy being around passionate, generous people because I know it's coming from a place of love 😍. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia has the biggest Greek community outside of Greece. One thing I personally love about Greek people is that they'll usually remember my name. Larissa isn't a common name in a lot of countries. But someone from Brazil recently surprised me in a comment. I'm starting a second comment.

Well as someone who been to 56 countries and having spent 9 months in Montenegro, I have to say I agree with a lot of your survey, but the one thing I have to say is Montenegrins and Serbians do NOT like Americans. In fact, I would say they are anti-American, especially those over 40 (from frmr Yugoslavia). I never felt welcomed or liked. The men were very aggressive, and the women were just rude to us. No one smiles, ever. The cashiers at the check out line just throw you card back down with your groceries, and the waiters give horrible service. Yes it is beautiful and very inexpensive, but unless you are just looking for a new stamp in your passport, avoid Montenegro and Serbia. Go to Croatia, Albania or Greece. I promise you will be happy you did.

I live in Serbia and I dislike USA (that's where you are partially right about Serbs), but I don't dislike Americans, and that's also true for "major" majority of my fellow Serbs. We are very open and straightforward people and we do like and respect our guests. So, if you had such bad experience, maybe you should ask yourself what was your part in making usually very warm and hospitable people to treat you like that. I'm certain it wasn't because you were from USA. Or you just trolling for some reason.

Wait. Greece was kingdom, Romania also, Albania also, and Bulgaria was Tsardom. Turkey was independent republic. And Serbia (together with what now are Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia) was Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Speaking of Ex-Yugo countries only, and before WWI (not II) and Balkan Wars only two independent kingdoms were Serbian kingdoms (Serbia, and Montenegro) which, after liberating above mentioned provinces, created Yugoslavia.
