I don't think it ruins modern dating. I think it just isn't the best option. To avoid all of that mess, all you have to do is not be on those sites or apps.
honestly, i think the "killer" of dating is simply more options. when there is more to fill your life with, your priorities become unmanaged. this is (at least to me) why we see so many virgin guys obsessed with anime. no offense to them, its just the example i see most often. when we have all of these new and expanding options in the world, there is no need to expand population wise. look at population pyramids in the most technological countries vs the least technologically advanced,
