IS TRENTON SIMPSON THE RAVENS UNICORN IN 2024????  

When we drafted Trent and I watched all his college film on YT, I can say his role was basically what we asked 14 to do last year. Trent is genuinely a special and freakish athlete. THE most intriguing aspect of our defense to me is the potential versatility of Harrison and Simpson in support of roquan.

Simpson played more LB his final year at Clemson because they had a new DC. He was next up in the Isaiah Simmons role. He’s a 3 level defender.

Ravens love to sit back and take good players who fall. Some had Simpson as a late 1st rounder.

Trenton can cover like a safety, when I wanted him, I did not want to play him at ILB, I wanted to run him with RO, PQ and put on the opposite of the field. He is the real deal, they wouldn't even let me touch him because they know what I wanted to do with him. I had him as a OLB/MSS or Monster Strong Safety and Canis Linebacker.

Simpson was a RB in HS before playing both DE and RB had 22 sacks and 45 TFLs as a SR. Excellent off the edge in a Micah Parsons role. Watch him at Clemson his closing speed and motor stood out the most. 1st round talent. Ravens fans are gonna be surprised how good he ends up being with more experience at inside LB. Simpson played SAM/Nickle/Edge mainly at Clemson and even some snaps at Safety which will only help in the NFL.

I like Trenton a lot. He is bigger than my guy PQ and faster. The development could be dangerous.

I am over-the-moon excited for Trent. PQ was a first round guy simply because his speed and agility. I remember seeing a picture of Trent next to PQ and he looked waaay bigger. I think Trent is a better tackler and better tackler than PQ at the same juncture of their careers. As far as athleticism, he’s faster than Queen. Putting those thoughts together, it can be scary. Letting him blitz and go down hill while Ro plays Mike, it will be deadly.

Great breakdown! I'm confident RO will make sure he's ready. He has the cheat code. How many ILBs can say they have an on-field mentor better than Roquan Smith:).

Been saying this since we got rid of Pat queen. Trenton is gonna be an absolute beast for us!

I got to agree coach and think about the other defensive coaches he had as well that PQ didn’t start out with. And getting to sit and watch two of the best LBs in the league will be huge I think. All he need is more reps. And I was looking for any info on the o line that’s my main focus

Thanks for the video coach, Trenton potential in this pass defense could be scary. I wonder if Malik Harrison will be used on 1st downs plus 3rd and short downs for know and hopefully trenton can become a every down linebacker later in the year?

Coverage was Queens biggest struggle. Don't get me wrong, PQ played at a high level once Ro joined the team. With Trent being bigger, faster and stronger than PQ I think he will get more sacks that PQ did and most likely get more tackles for loss than PQ. The coverage is the mystery right now, but I can not imagine he is any worse than PQ was at that. The one thing I REALLY like about Trent is the fact when he makes a mistake, he recognizes it and doesn't make the same mistake twice. He is learning at the NFL level and he has Ro to show him the ropes. I believe Trent and Ro will again bring the best LB duo in the NFL back to Baltimore. Think I'll revisit this post at 2024's seasons end. I predict Trent has 6 sacks and 12 tackles for loss, 79 solo tackles, 9 passes defended and 2 picks in his first season as a starter.

Gotta do more research before doin these kinda videos so everybody has better context. Trenton is a phenomenal athlete and he is a much better coverage guy than Queen. At Clemson Trenton played some boundary corner. Slot. Safety and edge. I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if he’s a fringe pro bowler
