I completely agree. As a former addict I know that anime become worse the more you drift away from the mainstream. Mainstream are things like dragon ball, Naruto or one piece which already contain shirk elements and perversion but don't actively seek to change the beliefs of their audience. But once you dive into Seinen anime you constantly encounter themes like nihilism and questioning the goodness of god or even his existence. And there are a lot of semi intellectual internet forums and also youtube channels discussing and praising the philosophical themes of these anime and giving more recommendations. Mainstream anime are the gateway drug (but even they involve things like the protagonist fighting "Gods" and a lot of nudity and sexualization) and the more you search the more disgusting it gets. There's nothing good about anime and one must stop watching it immediately.

I'd add onto this by including TikTok (perhaps even more so than anime) as the captain of corrupting people. I have seen the effects both can have on people; however, TikTok seems to have the most forceful and immediately corrupting effect as any new (mostly haram) trends and ideas proliferate through that platform like wildfire and reach every viewer. Most people scroll through it in every instance of free time they acquire and accumulate 3-7+ hours per day scrolling on the app, being conditioned directly to believe that not only is everything they are seeing normal, but that everyone around them believes and supports it. It is one thing to be influenced by cartoon characters, but a whole other story to be influenced by thousands of human beings spewing the same messages and haram. Anime has more of a long-term corrupting effect where its effects start to precipitate once someone is binging through hours of episodes per day for many months/years.

I was anime fan since childhood and i have binged watched 20-30 episodes a day. And then I shifted and did tauba in pandemic. After doing tauba, I started to think what I have watched and then i realised that anime always refers to god as lustful or greedy being and glorify Devils and magics. And its not like anime these days are doing this but since the beginning it has been like this only. It advocates sins and even justify it. Oh I have so much to share but I will conclude that even after doing tauba and i feel pull towards anime sometime, It is addictive and waste a lot of time, it give psychological problems especially distaste with reality, disconnect with humans, incapable to manage relationship with family, pleasure in others pain, blood seems normal like paint as if I have seen the picture in anime already and the dead being or hurt being is nothing but a picture, uneasiness, unhappiness, lusty thoughts all time etc. With the mercy of Allah, i am way better now but still feel some reminiscent within me and I am watching scholars to fill my heart with the love of Allah and his prophet. Thats the best cure.

Anime got the one eye symbol posted everywhere to an excessive amount. Going as far as to have side angle shots of characters or zooming in on the characters single eye when they could have front shot or zoom in on both eyes. Not to mention having alot of monsters with one eye.

Personally I'm of the same opinion as those who recognise anime as a genre. Just like TV series and movies have genres this is another form. We control our consumption and assess what we are watching and make a judgement and move forward. I also don't think its all in or nothing when watching them especially if its the new generation of teens with their short attention span. but of course variables exist in every context.

I think most of the anime are all so incredibly violent: Demonslayer for example is all about demons, blood, killing, and possessing. The main character cares for his demon sister and nurtures her. Dragonball Z has major themes of shirk considering other dieties as gods. even the brand new dragon ball series DAIMA is heavily rooted in demonism, rituals and magic. Look at Onepiece (1121 episodes), Naruto (220 episodes), Naruto Shippuden (500 episodes), Bleach (366 episodes). In all this time you could have spent more time with family, doing good deeds, learning more about the deen, or even exercising!

i have watched at least 100-250 anime series let it be mainstream or cult classics from niche communities the generalization i can make is I don't think any muslim should get into it everyone talks about the world building That's the problematic part It's not a small or simple cartoon story its a huge world building effort usually which directly or indirectly paints a very god ignorant or as more commonly said godless fictional world characters emotions and efforts control outcomes even when they dont its cause of some other mortal force even slice of life and really grounded animes give light to problematic thoughts from the author last anime i watched was an anime called kotaro lives alone a heartwarming show that honestly had not much of objection in moral sense actually gave me some lessons but the way it discords you from ur life regardless of moderation is something i think makes it dangerous i really urge people to quit anime and music both i think exaggerate emotions and makes us try to observe such levels of emotion rather than being grateful and experiencing intricacies of Allah swt creation and will .

However, I also believe that spending time on both your good deeds & own personal needs is a good enough thing for any casual muslim. What matters the most is your 5 daily prayers. I’m sure we have heard the fact that every sin we do counts as 1 bad deed. While every good we do counts as 10 good deeds (minimum) but all of the good deeds will be for naught if you don’t pray. How's Anime haram? it's media like any other. There are some Anime with wonderful concepts Like Miyazaki's Anime.

Indeed most anime seems to be evil or a waste of time. But there are anime based on classic novels, anime with Christian protagonists, etc. And Arabic dubs teach one Fusha through an interesting variety of situations. Watching decent anime in Arabic is better than not learning Arabic, which is the condition of most Muslims. Maybe we need a website to grade series for how halal and wholesome they are, with descriptions of the best and worse aspects. The biggest Islamic problem with motion pictures seems to be that you can't know what you will be shown until you've already seen it. A movie or series might seem innocent and wonderful until deep into it, once you're already hooked, the unexpected immorality shows itself-- toplessness, fornication, atheism -- whatever the artists who you don't know at all decided to show. There are some parental guidance warnings and stuff, but that's not based on Islām specifically.
