Excited for your ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 review. I made a video explaining why it went from XT12 to ET12 to BQ16 XT12 X means wifi 6 (801.11ax) T means tri band 12 means 12 streams which is 4 streams per band ET12 E means wifi 6e (801.11ax extension) T means tri band 12 means 12 streams which is 4 streams per band BQ16 B means wifi 7 (801.11be) Q means quad band 16 means 16 streams which is 4 streams per band So when you divide the max bandwidth speed by 4 (in BQ16's case its around 11529Mbps and you divide it by 4) you'll get the true theoritical max wifi speed per stream/device which for wifi 7 is around 3Gbps (actually it is around 2882.25 but it hits 3Gbps which MLO helps to achieve)

What do you think for best speed the Netgear Nighthawk wifi 7 or the Asus on this video?

Using the 10G gaming port for your wired backhaul for your Mesh WiFi router will cause the internet traffic going through that router to be prioritized over every other connection that you have with your main router

I have the same question. It appears the be900 is slightly better on the range test for the lower band which has me leaning toward it since I have more devices on the lower band currently. Would like his opinion.

@ASUSUSA
@ASUSUSA Месяц назад
Reach out to our service and support, the XT8 and XT9 series are extremely well received but WiFi can present numerous challenges if you have issues you should look to try and debug what your issue is? Range, instability etc. One item may be re adjusting where your secondary node is for the backhaul or change the backhaul to a wired connection to stabilize it. This will increase speeds between the two nodes and also yield better performance for your clients. You should also consider ensuring your firmware is up to date and if close to RF based devices move the router away if possible.
@4dzxk332
@4dzxk332 Месяц назад
Usually a firmware update is the culprit, for us it caused random disconnections throughout the day and it just became ridiculous, so I manually downgraded the firmware to a couple of versions behind, and it works fine. I no longer trust asus firmware updates because reliability in constant connection is very important due to hybrid remote working. But now that fear of that disconnection disruption lingers due to previous bad experiences with the mesh system. So I'm also considering a more trustworthy reliable system that we can just activate and not think or worry about again, but that could be a difficult task because such connections in it's nature are prone to interferences and disruptions overall.

No sfp ports on a router of this price in 2024 is sad. Waiting for the TP link competitor to release.
@ASUSUSA
@ASUSUSA Месяц назад
SFP is a niche audience for the majority of general users and enthusiasts the standard ports are fine and also have no possible interoperability, compatibility issues that can arise with SFP. we also test trailed SFP with limited response from the market and users in priors models but will reintrocue a model with this in our BE88U coming out later this month if you want a focus wired connectivity and modern WiFi chispet.
@Holy_Hobo
@Holy_Hobo Месяц назад
@@ASUSUSA I appreciate your response and it is nice to see you guys are looking into the feature and releasing a new model with it. The website seems to have some conflicting information on it, for example it lists "9 gigabit ports" when in other places it says multiple 2.5g lan, and another place where it says "2.5g wan/lan port" when in other locations it mentions both wan ports are 10g. 2 sfp ports would of course be nice as one for WAN and another for LAN but I understand putting just a single one with questionable interest. It also claims to be WiFi 7 but the only mention of the 6ghz band I can find is for mesh? Is that 6ghz unusable for client devices and dedicated solely for wireless back haul? That would be extremely disappointing. Clarification on the "gaming" port would also be nice. Is it just a no-configuration priority port? Can I achieve the same results on another port such as either of the 10g wan/lan ports via customization or would the gaming port still have higher priority? If so why not? Is there packet sniffing for priority as well? Thank you and I look forward to your answer!
@4givenoxygenbarez
@4givenoxygenbarez 2 месяца назад
I now understand why it only hits 3Gbps for wireless but it is very assuring that it hits 10Gbps via LAN. Hoping better modules and/or routers would come late 2024 or early 2025.

TPLINK BE85 or this one better ?
@VoizeKink
@VoizeKink Месяц назад
Deco BE85 2 pack 100%. I recently got the Deco BE95 since I just got AT&T fiber and holy crap is this thing good, especially with wireless backhaul. Incredibly easy to setup with deco app and I've had zero issues on it thus far. Two story home and 6Ghz is really really good. Definitely go with BE85 tho as it's certified for Wifi 7 for 2.4ghz, 5ghz & 6ghz, BE95 isn't certified yet and only has Wifi 7 "certification" for 6ghz currently. It's definitely overkill and I would recommend the BE85 as it's cheaper and has wifi 7 certification.

So I recently got my ASUS be98 and let me tell you I live in a small terrace house. My router is upstairs and if I do a speed test via wireless using 6GHZ channel on iPhone 15 pro I get roughly 700mbps. Now I don’t think this router is adequate at all as my standard supplied router would hit that. Is there anything in the settings to make it faster. Are all there videos people do just Bull****.
@VoizeKink
@VoizeKink Месяц назад
Those are the max speeds you'll see on a single device Wifi 7 router. I've tested the Netgear RS700 and this device until trying out the Deco BE95 2 pack mesh setup and I get max speeds everywhere upstairs on 6ghz provided by my ISP (fiber/1,200up & 1,200down) using wireless backhaul which is wild. I would highly recommend trying out the Deco BE85 2 pack or 3 pack if home is large. Amazon offers installment plan with an affordable down payment and a good return policy. Both the Deco BE85 and BE95 are both currently on sale as well, BE95 is overkill tho and you could use that extra money saved to get a 3 pack Deco BE85.
@VoizeKink
@VoizeKink Месяц назад
also forgot to add that the modem on the 15 pro/pro max isn't the greatest. Mesh would be your best bet for Apple devices. My cousin owns a 14 pro and 15 pro max plus macbooks and I have a S23 Ultra and my phone connected better to his Netgear RS700 from upstairs than his device did. Made him return his Netgear RS700 after letting him trial run my Deco devices for a few days. He's on the 1.2gb plan for xfinity and was also using an outdated Arris SB8200, made him get a Coda 56 cable modem and now with his new setup he gets 1,400mb+ down/260mb up, everywhere upstairs and downstairs using 6ghz.

Honestly, you should try asking the new “ChatGPT-4o” to help you go through all of your router’s settings for maximum speed & performance while also emphasizing privacy & security. Let it know if you have a mix of old & new devices, number of devices, etc. If that doesn’t work, try the ASUS GT-BE98 Pro model (if that’s not what you already have) As stated above, your iPhone will max out around 700 Mbps anyways. Try the Belkin 2.5G Ethernet to USB-C adapter for a hardwired connection & see how that goes

External antennas offer better reception/signal strength.
@ASUSUSA
@ASUSUSA Месяц назад
There is more than meets the eye - The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro is equipped with eight sturdy external antennas and sixteen powerful internal dipole antenna elements, while each radio frequency chain has an independent high-power amplifier. Four antennas feature a dual-feed design using copper tubes that provide high efficiency and significantly enhanced signal strength. This optimized antenna array ensures better signal isolation for simultaneous transmission and reception at different frequencies in adjacent bands. If you want a router with no antennas consider our ZenWiFi series. We have the upcoming BQ16 and ZenWiFi BT10 with internal antennas.
