Hi! Just follow these steps: 1. Open the RU-vid Studio app on mobile. 2. Under Videos, tap the video you’d like to update. 3. Tap Edit . 4. Tap Advanced Settings and scroll to Audience. 5. Select: “Yes, it’s made for kids". “No, it’s not made for kids". 6. Click Save.
Right???? remember when it was the parent's job to set privacy locks, passcodes/words on their TVs and devices and it wasn't the responsibility of the content creators and providers. I remember when my TV had 5 porn channel and they were all locked when I was a teen, granted I got the unlock code from my older cousin who knew it, but still my parents made sure that shit was locked lul.
Enderslayer Gaming its because all the tech savvy kids realized if they just typed in RU-vid.com instead of RU-vid.com/kids they would get all the content
So... if i add a rap song in a video, play an M rated game like CoD, R6S, Fallout, GTA, or any game with killing people, or say the F word and get into trouble with the FTC?
Im a way that's kinda wrong because im pretty sure that a 10-13 yo doesnt wanna watch a toddler educational video...they should categorize it by age better In my opinion...because I know 10-13 yo and they DONT wanna watch baby educational cartoons...they should break it up more...
Thank you so much for this tip. I thought my channel was already set up for "not made for kids" but I was wrong. Wish I had known this years ago. It will be interesting to see what happens now that I fixed it. Wish me luck everyone and if I notice a huge difference I will come back and let you know. UPDATE FROM WHEN I WROTE THIS A YEAR AGO. Ever since this happened I am just finding out now that most all my subscribers are not able to get notifications. Right now this very minute my subscribers are getting a message telling them 'my channel is made for kids' and it in fact is not. This makes it so they can not click "all notifications" while being subscribed to me. See if you are having the same issue. This entire issue came to light when they started the entire (for kids) and (not for kids) and I am just finding out NOW why my views went down CONSIDERABLY!!!. I have over 114,000 subscribers and when I post a video only 200 or 300 people will see it. Most are not even my subscribers. Now there is a fix but it has to be done by every individual separately. If I tell the person to unsubscribe from me and then resubscribe they will then have the ability to click "all notifications". Problem is I have no way to reach out to all of my subscribers and tell them this. I am currently working with YT to fix this. They are now aware it is happening and said they will get back to me when they figure it out. I will try my best to keep everyone up to date. Has anyone else seen this happen to their channel as well. It might be happening and you don't even know it.
tubics thanks it’s turned back now don’t know how but when I’m of age and live in the uk when this is a us law , it’s a certain music video that’s does it to RU-vid
@@youtube-agency-tubics hi tubics.. I changed it to yes it's made for kids for my boss when it's not. He noticed when his comments got turned off. So you mean I can just go to settings and change it back to no it's not made for kids and everything will be back to the way it was? Please help 🙍🙍 thank you
for those who are making children content, don't be discouraged you can do it keep going, I just got monetized, it's a lot of work but don't be discouraged, Monetization is just the first step, but allow your passion to lead you and keep uploading interesting content and your channel will grow. Please DONT GIVE UP.
I don’t understand, I’ve seen and watch baby short videos that has millions views with comments, are they also set for “made for kids” or restrictions only goes to some small RU-vidrs? Just wondering.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong. RU-vid denied me twice. I realized I didn't answer the audience question. Is there anything else I should look out for?
My already appeal that my video is made for adults not made for kids but i rejected 3 times.. How I apply monetization program even i have made for kids video?

@@youtube-agency-tubics Yes, and it is suppose to happen when you make your channel "made for kids" but when you put it back to "not made for kids" then the settings should go back to normal where your subscribers can then again see "all notifications". This is not the case and I did reach out to youtube for help. Instead of them admitting they had an issue they told me "everything is working as it should". Did you also notice RU-vid removed the help forum? Now we can't even get help from other youtubers. This is all shady at best and I am still stuck with 114k subscribers that I can not inform of the problem.
Hi there! If you set your channel 'not for kids', basically nothing happens. Your videos are mixed, so we think it would be better to set channel as 'not made for kids'.
Hey appreciate this video, love what your doing tubics here on youtube keep the videos coming. Honestly, I know other people have been complaining about this new made for kids settings on youtube.. I agree it is a pain when it comes to monitization and having comments being removed on your videos. I wish youtube could go back to the way that it was several years ago and we could make our pages customizable kind of like how we could on social media sites like myspace. We used to have the ability to change our background color and even upload images of whatever we wanted and set those to our background. It seems as time went on the less freedoms and options we have been given. This is what happens when companies become more corporate, the end user has less options. :(
Hello , I always set my videos " NOT made for kids " , my content is for everybody. But i mostly when i upload my video the comments get closed , but i open them. So can i know why do my videos comment get closed ?
Did anyone else experience RU-vid flagging your video as “made for kids“ although it‘s clearly not? My video has adult themes (like mild violence and sexual innuendos) but was recently marked as “made for kids“. I filed a complained but RU-vid declined which is really strange. Not sure how to deal with this in the future..? My RU-vid analytics also cleary show that my target audience is over the age of 25.
Yep it thought gunsmoke the old time radio series was made for kids a couple times and buy a couple I actually mean a few. Well I listen to it as a kid I also saw RoboCop as a kid and Terminator 2. Yeah I know not on the same level but in gunsmoke someone usually got shot there are also definitely other a couple of more adult type themes at least for the time period.
You should probably go into video edit settings and turn it back to not made for kids. And you should probably check back every so often because RU-vid is weird like that.
What about a channel that's designed to show parents how to do kid related projects with their kids? Such as showing parents how to make stuff out of playdough and jello?
Right!!! That's what youtube kids is really targeted towards, most kids 8 and older are probably going to want to watch gaming videos, vlogs, etc. not ryans toys review...
Very useful thanks for sharing, about 2 weeks ago on my youtube channel i was asked by youtube if my channel is for kids or not. Silly me and i thought that meant that my videos are meant for children as well and made set it for children. It's been 2 weeks and i see many of my youtube videos were removed from google search results. Many of my website pages containing the vidoes were removed as well, crazy right? It just hit me that this might be the cause for the removal. Anyone else had the same problem? changed back and i hope everything will get back to how it used to be.
I was little bit confused whether to set my channel as 'made for kids' or not... But your perfect explanation gave me a clear idea ... THANKS A LOT tubics...
Hey! I have a few questions -can we still get paid if it’s “made for kids” -can you get fined or sued for saying “not made for kids” when it is “made for kids” -what if Half Of your viewers are kids and half older ages -what does this mean for people who have a career with video games like roblox poke,Megan plays, dylan kids watch their channel or other video gaming channels -what does this mean for the gacha community -say I wanna make a video that is for a video game but half my viewers are kids half are older -and I know I asked this already but do “made for kids” channels get paid?
There are shows that I watch and there are clips that have blood, gore etc and it says 'this content was made for children'.... Am I missing something here or am I lost the plot.
I think the RU-vid Kids platform is good for kids to use. But I also think RU-vid is implementing it poorly on the main platform. What they should do in my opinion is when the videos are made for kids, the features such as comments, cards etc. should be remain accessible like any other video, but ONLY on the MAIN RU-vid PLATFORM. On the RU-vid kids platform, all the features should be off. That way, our revenue would be stabled, RU-vid won't receive so much hate and COPPA/FTC won't likely be breathing down our necks.
I agree as well. Whatever happened to our FREEDOM OF SPEECH? I definitely agree that anyone who posts inappropriate comments should be blocked/reported/penalized or the individual uploaders can choose whether or not to enable comments or other features, but the government should not be telling us what we should do all the time unless it is to protect innocent people who can’t defend themselves.
Thank you so much for such an informative video and your great reply,, I tried with the mobile phone, it didn't work then I tried with my laptop and I found the audience option. Thanks alot
When i upload a video, sometimes it gets removed saying that the video violates the child safety policy, but it's just about on a videogame, yeah it shows killings and violence but I already set the settings, and I choose not made for kids but it still happens, how can I fix this?
Hi just wondering that if i make LEGO stop motion videos that are not for children does youtube automatically put them to made for children? or can i decide are they made for children or not?
Thank you so much for this explanation. It’s been the clearest explanation I’ve found on this. I’m very new here to RU-vid and generally make cleaning/tidying etc videos but I do have the occasional video I will include my children and have them take part in the content, so I’ve been finding it difficult to determine what each video should be classed under. Now I know, In general, my channel is ‘Not Made For Kids’ but I will have to decide this video by video. Thank you so much. New subscriber here. Keep up the great content.
I don't make videos and I don't have my own RU-vid platform. Therefore, COPPA can't bother me. But sometimes last year, I came across some videos on a Health channel that features an adult male having open ❤ surgery. The notification bell was disabled and no comments were allowed because Coppa apparently thought it was content MADE FOR CHILDREN to watch. WHAT WAS COPPA AND RU-vid THINKING, MARKING A MEDICAL SURGICAL PROCEDURE AS MADE FOR A CHILD TO WATCH?
Why couldn't they keep the comments if set for kids. Like every cartoon video I see on RU-vid. I never saw swearing they where nice. And if do swear on a kid Video then it be removed. Also I hate when set to kids. And then I click on a video. And I click off the video and it be at the bottom of the screen but IT WOUDNT BE PLAYING BECAUSE SET FOR KIDS. but when is not set for kids I can watch the video and scroll on RU-vid at the same time What was the point on pausing the video ON FOR KID VIDEOS WHYYY!
Im still finna make roblox kid-friendly videos.. But 100% NOT gonna click "Yes, it made for kids". I'm gonna say its "No, its NOT made for kids" even tho my videos may be completely fine Lmao.
I make roblox video’s and yes it is kind of made for kids but what if I don’t want my comments to be turned off or I don’t want the notification bell to be turned off? I just don’t get it because how is this fair to all of us content creators that our videos are made for kids but we want there to be comments and notifications. All of that stuff that is fun to use and look at your comments. For instance I don’t know if anyone knows these youtubers Megan plays and Denis their video’s are made for kids but their comments are still on. So do they set it to not made for kids? Even though they are more kiddish videos? I know I’m confusing but I think they should add an option for in between like made for both, so that maybe only people over 13 can comment and use notifications but people under 13 can just watch the video. That way everyone can be happy! I just don’t really get how this is fair for most youtubers.
I’m scared to even upload a video at this point. I want to make videos about squishmallows, fidget toys, my life as a autistic person, and reviews of products. Would those things count as childrens content? What would happen if RU-vid reviewed my videos and figured I’d labeled them wrong??
Hi there! technically your content falls under the category "made for kids". If you mark your videos incorrectly, RU-vid can give a penalty, however, we haven't heard about such cases yet.
Damn this is so trippy. So “Made for kids” doesn’t actually mean that your videos are kid friendly, it means that all your content is literally only for kids. smh RU-vid needs to be more clear with these things
I make videos for kids AND adults but I’m gonna have to set it for kids! No comments, no links, no notification. That’s how I get my views! This is unfair for creators!
This is what RU-vid kids is for, if you're under 13 you shouldn't be allowed on regular RU-vid. I wanna be able to make videos with some Pokemon stuff in them without RU-vid giving me the side eye.
So, if we select ‘made for kids’, can adults still view it? And vice versa- If we select ‘not made for kids’ can kids still access the video? Will it show up in RU-vid kids?
Me made a video of a rc car "toy" and made 7 million views Video doesn't have any children at all But after few weaks I had a message that "youtube manually made that video to kids only" and warned me for future uploads !! It was shocking..and new knowledge to me that time. So everyone pls make sure that Toys, chocolate, games, etc any thing that impress kids more should be made to kids only .. algorithm might not automatically dictect it but they will look manually if that video goes viral or more views etc..
@@youtube-agency-tubics yes, i choosen "not for kids" while uploading . I thought it was just a toy that even big man would buy !! But it went like this ..
Well the thing is that my channel is not made for kids because its for everyone because it is a chess channel i wish there was a setting which allowed you to make your channel as for everyone to enjoy
But what about people who make adult cartoons/animations and animations that are violent that also appeal to kids also then what do we do? Like many other people here are saying we need a middle ground. Just put kids on RU-vid kids.
if you set your videos as "made for kids", you will get certain restriction which we mention in the video. Adults will still be able to watch those videos.
What if part of your videos are made for kids but not all. Can you get a community? Also if a cartoon video has popular music from Taylor Swift or Shania Twain or Even Elvis Not made for kids? Like it can be general audience if it has music that isn’t for kids right?
But I see Animash videos.. basically cartoons with music from the radio who have been up for years & nothing happened. Especially if they are adult themed or say cuss words? If I had a kids cartoon anyone can agree on like Balto & had the wolf smoking a cig or cussing would that be made for kids or either option?
Oh golly, my videos are videos on games and reacting and stuff but I have no comments and I just figured out why ITS MADE FOR KIDS I want my videos for everyone to enjoy and sometimes I want them to be notified and commenting on my videos but no! How do I fix this? I don't want my channel to be age restricted I don't know if it will or not though.
Some of the videos that i upload on my channel are animated, which are basically made for kids, if i set it to 'Yes It is MADE FOR KIDS' then the money that i make will be less. If i set it to 'NOT MADE FOR KIDS', what will youtube do to my channel? I'd be very glad if you could help me out. Thanks.
