I pruned my hydrangea paniculata before the winter by mistake, way too early. It is May now, there is no growth. I havr checked the bark and it is still green so I am assuming it us still alive. I livr in zone 8b. Will it die slowly now? Should I move it indoors?
Is your hydrangea planted in a pot or in the garden? If it's in a pot, I move it to a new pot with fresh garden soil, which hopefully will save the plant if it's overwatered. If it's in the garden, there's not much you can do unless you want to move it, but it's harder to transplant. I suggest you just wait for the soil to dry out.
Oh so sad! Mine has no leaves yet… I live in zone 5b so we have later springs… this year spring came early for every flower and tree… it’s planted where there is morning sun and bloomed well last year. Will check for brittleness of branches and any growth at the base!
