You could lock the lock to the handle, stopping them from resealing the zip. You'd see straight away that tampering had taken place whilst still in the airport
Damn boi u just saved me couple hundreds bout to buy zipperless suitcase phewwwwww BRAVO ps u can be famous doing video about this cuz i didnt see any yet...
They may even detain you for that! Just keep a good attorney's number at both departure/arrival on speeddial. It's dangerous enough even if you follow the rules if taking an unloaded gun through New York area airports. NY law cites "capable of being loaded" which means if you have separate ammo with it, you're charged with a Felony if either 1) someone screening has a horrible day or 2) Overzealous prosecution (a normal thing up there).
As a baggage handler, I can tell we get a lot of bags from TSA inspectors like this that are not fully closed and the bags bursts wide open. We put all the items in a big plastic bag and try our best to return everything to you.
there r goid people "out there" last November @ SFO @ 11pm international departure to ICN thru tsa carry-on & body check someone of tsa took my money belt. i didn't notice till ICN called back & friendly no help about it. there r some negative people in tsa
You're luggage is subject to be inspected. If TSA opens you're bag, they will enclose a notification card advising you you're bag has been opened and inspected.
Thank you, my new job is so mundane and this will keep me so much more entertained during those long, uninterrupted hours alone in the baggage check facility. And this has further taught me that my own luggage is no longer safe, therefore I will always put a panzer VIII Maus inside with all my baggage, right next to the heart that occasionally beats at random in a jar of liquid with multiple wires coming out of it and connected to the tank which will notice any unauthorized entry
I watched this video because I used to be paranoid about people stealing stuff from my bag. Having seen some of your other vids, I thought you'd have a fix for this. Now I'm just even more paranoid! Although your vids are awesome dude.
That's why I go with Pelican cases, its not easy to break in, and my family & dad uses it for transportation, because he would put in his Custom S&M M4 with some magpul upgrades etc, packing firearms and bringing em to the airport is tough, the tsa will also try and open the bag or hard case from the side, if a finger or person can be able to see the firearms easily, then you cant travel with it, but compare with pelican cases, their so hard the air also water proof and or rugged proof, and they cant open the side so easily, they cant bend the sided but it wont chip or get weakend or be able to the the firearm, so it can be allow to travel with u. no way they cant open it.
***** A 2 Watt laser will actually burn through most plastics, probably cause burns on the skin and will definitely burn eyes. You can't blame them for confiscating it (they probably would if he actually went through security), or doing their job finding dangerous items, including, yes, many types of knives, eg switchblades.
Goabnb94 they dont take knives unless the knife is illegal and remember they are the TSA *transportation* safety admin they are not the police nor do they have the right to take away items which cannot be used in dangerous ways without a person operating the device (remember you cant access luggage mid flight) and they dont have the right to search and remove items like that so no there not doing there jobs they are playing police officers but with these cops u dont need probable cause to go around searching everything i laugh at all of this because it wasnt like this prior to 9/11 you must give the terrorists some absolute great credit because they won, they changed the entire government to spy more than ever they absolute won and turned our own government against the people..... people can say what they want but by reinforcing these rediculous laws thats exactly whats happening is your proving that 9/11 was a huge sucess
kabin yang its true it does sound wrong but if you really think about it its just a fact and its also a perspective thing where you can look at it from both sides (in order for it to be a sucess on one side it has to be a failure on the other) and i just happened to say it from the perspective of the terrorists (im not a terrorist lol) but weather i said it was a failure on the us governments part or a sucess on the terroirists group its exactly the same statement such as saying a glass of water is half full compared to it being half empty where they mean the same
You can file a claim with the TSA, but also if there is something you really want not to get stolen you could also look for insurance, which may be cheaper than replacing it, especially if you aren't taking it with you all the time.
LegendofZandE, I think the reason why the TSA took the laser pointer is that, in the airport, laser pointers are forbidden, because when you point the laser anywhere on the ground or airplanes in flight, laser-guided missles can find the laser you point to as targets.
All of your videos are mind blowing, but what blows my mind most is that people actually think your laser got stolen...AND asking if you got it back!!!! Smh
There is nothing you can do to prevent a bag from being opened. It can and will be cut open or bolt cutters will be used to cut off locks. It's not difficult to force even hard side bags from being opened. There are many tools that can be used to open any bag.
Simple way to fix this is is get a very tiny safe. I have one for when I'm traveling, I store what ever I think they don't need to touch in there, and when I feel like just being mean I will sometimes take and empty safe that is lined with lead. If they want in, they can either call a locksmith or find me, and I guarantee that they feel stupid when I open it and the max they might find is a few pieces of my personal information and possibly medication that is perfectly leagal
They are all susceptible to it, the only trick it the ones that lock the zips to the side can't be reclosed. You could go zipperless, which cuts that issue out, but from what I've heard those TSA keys aren't difficult to get a hold of.
@bassjunkie233: Here's a trick that doesn't require fancy technology: Ship our valuables separately by FedEx or DHL and tape up those packages really well!
for the safety of your valuables, plz carry a handbag along with you,no one would dare to steal anything at your presence be it at checkpoints as you claim or anywhere unless you are out of your mind.
i disliked this vidio becouse this is just showing pepple to break in to youre bags and that is not good to show how to do it and show how to fix it so i do not think this is a good video and this saunds dramatick but this vidio should be tookin off becouse its showing theafs how to be beter at bracking in to luggage with out being deteckded
I love this video because it shows how you could well get framed, but you failed to consider that, didn't you? You should be very fearful of the crap that the TSA can lay on you. Denver has thieves! My bag was gone through returning from an international flight and I'm missing a high-quality shortwave radio I used overseas, although the power supply made it home. SUCKS!
Metal might be an overstatement. But 2W will do worse than just eyesight damage. 600mW is enough to burn through soft plastics and light matches. Cat lasers and presenter lasers are generally less than 2mW for comparison.
W0W ! ! I thought this is scary when he said someone can take things, but what is even more scary is that when he said ADD things. Something to think about.
So what do you do to keep your personal belongings safe? Is it even legal to try and keep your stuff locked up? Or do you have to just submit to the inspection?
If you are sure it was TSA, go to www.tsa.gov and lodge a claim. They will open an investigation, check the video from the cameras at the inspection areas (there are no less then one per inspection station) and determine if it happened during the inspection process. Should it be so, the insurance will pay for the item, and the officer involved detained. If it turns out it was not during the inspection, though, you have to file a claim with the airline.
I work with bags at an airport an have never seen TSA do this. They will ask the carrier to call the passenger back to the counter, and if this is not possible get the carrier to approve to get the lock cut. Otherwise it doesn't fly.
This happens more often than you think. Secure your zips w/a lock, put zip ties around the handle AND zips, immobilizing them. OR double bag: pack one suitcase and put it in another. Locks can be breached but then thief would have to remove second bag. They want easy prey, they'll move on.
Everyones going on about using pad locks, ziplines, double bagging. Its so easy to avoid this. Plastic wrap (or cling wrap) wrap it around the sides and cover your zips. Take a photo with your phone or camera. That way you have proof if your bag got tampered with. If something gets removed from your bag then call the airline. Youll probably find that what was taken out was illegal to take on a plane such as this guys light.
I went to a camp with my friend, and he also had a padlock that uses number combinations. Unfortunately, he forgot the correct combination. So, thanks to KipKay and me being the strange roommate, I breached his suitcase with the trick. Yup, thanks a lot.
Laser lighter with battery is on considered to be dangerous, any of above 2k watts rechargeable battery also. Next time tries so unpair the battery from the lighter, or even separated the lighter into parts to be constructed later, so it won't be considered dangerous.
I remember when you only had to worry about the baggage handlers either stealing from your luggage or just destroying it. Watched a full-sized passenger jet get unloaded at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta back in the mid 70's. The guys in the cargo hold threw all of the checked luggage down onto the ground. They didn't just like toss it underhand either. Always wondered how suitcases got so beat up looking. Would have made a great video.
Well you can make a minihack for the solve; just buy some sticky aluminium tape. Peel it from the paper layer and before you stick it on a lid, you make small cuts around it. Then place it, and when someone tries to remove, change blabla, the foil tears. To make your foil unique, create a stamp or do a handwriting on it.
I don't think airport security actually took the laser. He probably got a slip of paper previously and decided to make a little skit about it to demonstrate how easy it is to break into anything with a zipper.
I work for Airport security and it wasn't a good idea to have carried your laser burner in your luggage in the first place. You are definitely not allowed it as hand luggage either. If you don't want your bag searched then don't pack any items which may be prohibited or a potential threat to the airport/ aircraft or bag.
All your valuables should fit in a carry-on bag or two on person, i.e. laptops, cameras, phones, as you can keep an eye on it. Maybe it's just the TSA I dealt with, but they were very professional as they showed the whole process. I think the logic is, if you cooperate and don't try so hard to keep them out of your things, they won't rummage through it out of suspicion.
