I've heard it's a bit more worth it in places you don't have 100% damage potential, because it doesn't reduce it by further 5% like the reaver's ring. ... but even so, it's so lackluster... lol. I truly hope the necro rex matriarch makes it AT LEAST viable...
I would say it’s worth it for sure. I got mine in about 18 ectoplasm rituals made about 22m doing it that way. I’ve been using it to build stacks and switching to reavers when fully stacked, then switching back. Necro not having switches as is means switching to a different ring isn’t too bad.
In its current state, the ring is simply "BIS anywhere Reaver's brings you below 100% hit chance." Hopefully the Rex adds an enchantment that'll make it BIS everywhere. Just to give more variety than Reaver's being BIS.
I threw it on for shits and gigs at the abyssal lords dungeon... its not the best but kinda works there. that extra soul chance helps use the finger of death slightly less and therefore keeping ur adren higher. Seemed to help prevent blowing all ur adren right before the skulls/living dead comes off cd. Super niche and idk if its better than rod, but better than reavers xD I do wonder how that ring would compare to RoD at say, Moss golems. You can hit quite a few at one time with that siphon ability, and the AOE with soul strike is decent there...
I’d put the ring as a good place, quest reward ring so can’t be to OP and probably is 4/5th best ring for necro should probably stay at this to keep other rings in similar spot
Sponge confirmed that 2nd hits of skulls doesnt give hit procs. Only the first can. Neither do conjures. Siphon is great because each hit counds as new hit since its a channel and its aoe so its a lot of proc chances. I believe it procs like lengs, only "hard" hits. Tbh, i think it could be 20% and it might be competitive with reavers. Its better where accuracy matters, but i think the proc rate is something hard to balance out to make worthwhile. Its a cool effect, i like it and like that it changes up necromancy rots and all, its just hard to break that effect afaik. What could be cool is if the upgrade makes the proc rate like 10-20% and increases the max souls by 1 or 2. Or maybe it makes it so you get 2 souls instead of 1 when you do.
Yeah. I was thinking that too, but imo, I'd like a crit% increase. I don't really wanna see the ring be a switch item because so many people won't do that. We NEED the crit% on skulls, its such an insane dps boost. I've gotten hm vork kills from 2:35-2:50 pmuch solely based on skulls critting. I like the max soul increase tho. Wonder how this ring would be if they reworked it to gain multiple chances on skulls, etc.
@@FroggieGames Yeah some crit chance goes a long ways. Much less impact with necromancy since it lacks a crit buff ultimate, but a crit on skulls is huge. Per soul crit chance with an increased cap of 1 gets to 6% max and that's not bad because you have use souls vs crit chance. Whete maybe building to 6 before ld rot is ideal. Rewards manual control more which im in favor of.
Jagex releases a ring that is not BIS and takes about 20 min to get your hands on. the community- THIS IS BS!! this ring is so trash, I can't believe they thought this would be useful. Jagex are a bunch of hacks. MTX... grumble grumble...
I found it very good fighting medium to large groups of enemies for this exact reason. Can build souls consistently with even t90 weapons, then threads a barrage.
I think you're confusing scythe procs with ring procs. The scythe generates souls fairly commonly but the ring seems only to be capable of generating 1, even with abilities like scythe/strike. I didn't mention it because I can't be sure the scythe was farming the soul or the ring... now that I think about it maybe it says if you unfilter chat but oh well... Like I said in the video, it might have niche uses where adren isn't important and you wanna spam strikes on low level trash mobs like at EDs or are using it as a switch for sap/touch but its realistically not very good
