Today you'' be seeing my initial reaction to my is38 swapped VW Golf Alltrack. Let me know what videos you want to see with it! If you enjoyed, leave a like and subscribe! Follow me on instagram @mk7.5_alltrack
I wish I did videos. I have a 2019 AllTrack S Green w/ brown 6MT. I went with the APR IS20 91 tune. SouthBend stage 2, ARM FMIC, IE 3" DP, AWE exhaust, "lowered" on stock GTI suspension, all the mounts, IE carbon intake, short shift kit, ect....Brakes are next. My buddy said, even mine, was faster than his flashed Golf R. I cant imagine your IS38! 100% agree with the road manners and perfect amount of street-able power. Best car I've ever owned and I'm old and have had a lot. Subbed and cant wait to see what Im missing out on, not going w/ the IS38.
If you redid it, would you go is38? Currently Looking at beefing up my winter beater and the is20 seems reasonable but I don’t wanna regret not going big for the extra few grand
Thats tough, but no. The lag and high rpm with the IS38 would be annoying and kill my car quicker. Its plenty quick with the IS20. My buddy swears my car is quicker than his Golf R. If I had the DSG, yes. @@Greasytireguyuntilidie
Sounds like a plan. When I was doing mine, the IS38 was cheaper than the IS20. I finally did the GTI performance package brakes last week. That was a yuge improvement. @@Greasytireguyuntilidie
Curious about the quarter mile times. I have a 19 s alltrack too I'll be going is38 with eventually. Wondering if I can do just downpipe and turbo at first. I've heard some people do okay on stock clutch and intercooler.
The stock clutch isn’t really great with holding power, but I’ve heard a couple of people who have kept it but don’t push the car too hard. Intercooler is a must from what I’ve heard, apparently these motors get heat soaked pretty fast
@@BrendonWagner Hoping I can save some money somewhere ha, 2k for intercooler and dp is ridiculous imo. I beat on my car but don't ever dump the clutch or hard launch so I'm hoping the stock clutch can last a little at least
@@NameName-eq7oe yeah it's definitely not cheap. If you don't push it too hard you should be fine on the clutch, but going full throttle might cause the clutch to slip. I would maybe do more research online and see what forums and FB groups say
I kept my stock clutch until it started slipping. It really didn't last long after I went is38. I did the oem sachs golf r clutch and pressure plate. It was only like $400 on rockauto compared to $900 on the aftermarket sites.
@@BrendonWagner Thank you! I just did the same and runs great BUT 'm getting a P2096 post catalyst fuel trim system bank1 too lean and P0140 02 Sensor Circ.. Bank1 sensor no activity detected CEL. Wonder if an 02 spacer would help as I think you added one? Thanks for the help!
@@grimepatrol970 if you did an aftermarket downpipe then that's definitely why. Try an 02 spacer, I think I got mine from URO tuning (Or ECS, I forget). It was only $30 and I don't have a CEL and passed Connecticut emissions with it (which is an OBD test). Good luck!
