Estas obras me traen recuerdos de cuando iba al conservatorio y me obsesioné con ellas, en mi caso en la versión de Esteban Sánchez. Estas grabaciones son excelentes también, no cabía esperar menos de Alicia de Larrocha.

Agreed! It is music that travels well. It works for piano or guitar. It is a wonderful way to leave the problems of the day behind and enjoy a colorful journey to Spain.
I'm performing Granada at a church talent show this weekend. It's a great little piece. Getting those RH arpeggios to sound like strumming guitars, like AdlR does in this recording, is not so easy. I like the freedom, and the fairly slow tempo, she brings to the piece. This is such a masterwork overall. Every piece is a delight.

Also agree. The Spanish piano rep is magnificent. Goyescas and Iberia are some of the finest (and most difficult!) things ever written for the piano, and works like this suite, Mompou's Canciones y Danzas, and de Falla's Fantasía Baetica, are very nearly their equal

Yes, definitely. Also, at 18:24, the last semiquaver before the chord with the fermata is written as F#, but AdL plays a D there, which does seem to fit better. Misprint? (It's a D in the Hofmeister edition, and both editions have D near the end of the [piece, just before the coda.)
man, those leaps in Asturias are scary. The rest of the piece isn't difficult, but wow, will it sound terrible if you don't hit those big leaps cleanly.
