I like how these stories also show that God doesn’t constantly magically do things for us like a genie. He is often silent on purpose and works from the background, allowing for people to act on their own free will while still influencing the events that happen, and allows people to willfully choose to trust in God or to not trust in God. And face the consequences of whatever choices we make. In many ways God is the personification of fate and truth itself.
Didn't you hear? "Even God has his hell: it is his love for man". And lately did I hear him say these words: "God is dead: of his pity for man has God died".
I used to go to popeyes every Thursday in university, i was a fatty. One day i cancelled on my friend to workout instead, when i was at the gym they had a small pool a kid snuck in and drowned. I was the only person there who knew CPR and had emt background. Satan, the devil told me to get chicken and its Okay. Holy ghost told me to workout instead, i saved a 6 year old boys life by trusting the good voice that day. Call it what you will, but u listen to the good voice as much as i can since then.
We're just mere mortals and we wouldn't even comprehend what he's capable of and he's mightier than anyone. He created everything and give everyone a chance to live.
So refreshing to see a historical “cliff notes” version of longstanding stories passed from one generation to another, without descending into a shallow post-modernist critique relying on faith in the tenants of “everything is political and everything is wacist”
If you ever do any kind of study on the Bible, you will learn very quickly that it almost goes out of its way to emphasize messed up people. There are very few who aren't, and that's kind of what I like about it.
Abimelek could been protecting Isaac when he sent him away. He could have been gruff with to show his people he was still a tough guy. Something to ponder.
Abimelek: "Why did you tell us that she was your sister?" Isaac: "Well, you see, I thought you were bloodthirsty savages with no moral compass." Abimelek: "... I think you should go.
God is true to his word, we struggle with trusting it, we struggle with holding our word. But we have a short time so we get impatient, we all get what is promised to us if we keep our word.(God or not)
Usually I don't comment on anyone's video but your content is superb so I am commenting on your video. Wow this video is fantastic. Every line is a point. Your channel deserve more subscriber. I regularly watch your videos from 2 years. As a old subscriber I want a help from you that please make a video on skanderbeg because I realised that only you can describe it nicely. As I know you from the old days, I think you will definitely make a video on this topic
Isaac did 3 things: he learned from past mistakes, he had renewed faith in God, not just based only on what Abraham did. He didn’t stop at the well of argument, or the well of opposition. He kept on moving on to the well of room enough! Lessons we can all learn. Thank you for the Legends of History site! I Love it!
In a book of symbols it says that wells have 3 cosmic order, heaven earth and the underworld. Also channels of communication the microcosm or cosmiccynthasis. They’re a source of life and a spiritual centre. Spiritual development and self-mastery.
Thank you so much, was looking for detail explanation of what transpired in Gerrah, your breakdown was impeccable 👍 I pray God's richest blessing upon you and your family.
I enjoyed this video very much. It’s nice to hear these stories just like you tell - without have a religions point of view thrown in. I hope you keep doing biblical stories. 👍🌸
And you dont think the motivation to stay out of Egypt had anything to do with avoiding retaliation from the powerful family his father previously wronged for monetary gain?
Abimelek seemed like a chill dude. I dont think he was discourteous, Isaac really did lay out an unintentional trap for him and his people regardless of if they worship the same god.
Ezekiel 18:20 [20]The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father's iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son's iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.
@@MrGreen-sw1ly Me too. The Jews are describing him as a negative person but you can see how he behaved toward his father. When he was alive and when he buried him with great respect. BTW. I'm Jewish.
Even if you're an atheist you just couldn't take your ears and hands off the Bible cause it's the truth and the word of God. It is through it that he gave all the assurance for your help and need.
@@simko8665 that's bc israel as we know it is a Lie, the land of milk and honey which the old testament speaks of happens to be right here in the americas 😍 Beesheba Springs Tennessee is further proof for me 😍 halleluYah
@@alphonsopicasso6524 You are very wrong. I don't think that you payed a visit in Israel, but yes, Israel now is the land of milk and honey. I do not know about the honey, but the Israeli cow yields more milk than any other cow in the world and certainly more than the American cow.
*idk why or if it can be edited by the people who run the channel: but i would note that there are no captions except in the very beginning when it is all 1 huge wall of text
Since the story is exactly the same as Abrahams, what it is, is the retelling of an ancient story with the current ruler of a people being the central figure. So very original people are
What makes more sense...god choosing the children of isreal uncondisionally even when they are in sin soley for the purpose of racism Or GOD choosing them conditional to take his word to the nations...and when they failed he passed the covenant to a obedient nation that took his message to the world.
Literally no verse that says he passed the covenant to other nations. Israel is the apple of The Most Highs eye and after the temporary time and power of the gentiles has passed, He will raise up Israel again, but only those who turn back to His laws and leave behind sin. They (the set apart Israelites) will judge the other nations. That's what the bible says.
Boring. Not interesant. All stories had been taken (stolen) from the Bible. The Jewish one and the Christian one. Read the Bible and you'll see it's making sense, not the confused false Quran.
The Qu'ran makes sense in its own context, and the Bible has plenty of contradictions within its pages. If you're not interested in learning about Allah or his prophet (who, if they had lived in the same time period, would have sat at the same table as my ex husband, since they were 4th or 5th cousins) none of us will force you to watch that episode. Even the YT Algorithm can't tie you up and pin your eyes open yet!
@@wendychavez5348I thank you for your comments but still you cannot convince me that Islam is the true faith and that the Quran is an original book. Sorry.
@@simko8665, I accept that. In which case, you are not required to view it as anything other than a series of hypothetical essays. I'm not trying to convince you to accept another faith, only that some people have ideas that don't match yours. Be well!
The sons of the father is passed down to the son DID-NOT come from William Shakespeare .. It came from The Holy BIBLE.. (Deuteronomy 5:9) - "Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me," #StopGiveMisreadingInformationSir
Faith doesn't make things easy it makes them possible when you pray with faith the bible say that even if you have faith that small as a mustard seed you will ask this mountain to move and it move . But if you don't have faith nothing is possible for the Lord Jesus nothing is impossible but always remember that God will answer in his time when it's the right moment sometimes people give up when their prayers are not answer and that's a big no no
The females must have been very loose if men might have just slept with her by accident. Oops, I just screwed that girl. Did they knock them out first?
I disagree Isaac fears men over ALLAH. God gave him intelligence for a reason and id the people are notorious for killing husbands and taking wives why go freely into slaughter. He should've left Rebecca gone... that's prolly why she tricked him when he was blind
