To date and forever it will not only haunt me but all the music lovers all over the world. That is for sure. I am 74 years and 3 months. I go nostalgic.

Shyamala madam, as you pointed out that " subhapanthuvarali " ragam is sad in nature, the beauty of the ragam just makes one forget everything and you just cannot avoid roaming with the ragam. Such is the beauty and charm of this ragam.
2 songs readily come to my mind. " sugamo aayiram " from the film " thunai irrupal meenakshi ". The evergreen P.Susheela has rendered this song with melodious ease. Sujatha madam acted in this song sequence.
There is another song in the film " manjal mahimai ". The song is " maratha sogam thano- yaridam solveno " by the evergreen P.Susheela and Ghantasala. Evergreen Savithri and A. Nageswara rao acted in the film.

I have a question- whether music teacher compose cine songs after hearing carnatic songs or they try to compose by using some tunes and indirectly leads to a raga unintentionally. Kindly clarify. In my opinion, lyrics would have an inherent or inbuilt ragas which composers explore, find out and position the lyrics in swaras of ragas. Please confirm.

Amazing Shubhapantuvarali. However SP is closer to Todi than Lalit. I learnt that Lalit treats the komal dhaivat a bit differently to distinguish it from todi and also has shudh and teevra madhyams
