Our pension in Samnaun was situated midway along the valley run to Samnaun. Our initial plan was to reach the highest point of the mountain using the last chairlift and then ski down. However, upon reaching the last segment, we found it closed, likely due to the warm weather. Since we didn't need to ski all the way to the very end of the valley run, we disregarded the warning sign and continued skiing. It was only shortly before our intended turn that we were halted by an avalanche.
