I'm New Yorker and diehard NY Knicks fan. Mark Aguirre is a good comparison, but Melo's game is more like Bernard King's. Both players made their living and earned fame in mid-post (mid-range assassins/scoring machines). It's time for Melo to come home and team up with his two buddies (Durant/Kyrie) who helped him win third gold medal in 2016. Win a chip and then retire NY Knick subsequent year. I'm tired of watching him get DISRESPECTED by Lakers coaching staff and stat padding, ball hogs Lebron/Westbrick. How does Melo stay friends with narcissist (Bron). Bron took early flight home. What leader does this? SMH! Anyway, In the last two games, Melo (the 9th all time leading scorer in NBA) only attempted 4 and 7 shots respectively. In the game against Philly without Lebron, he scored 20 pts (8 of 15). Whose fault is it for not running offense through him? He can still get you buckets. The blame has to go to coach/point guard. Without Lebron/Davis, Melo should be #1 option, not Westbrick. In 2018, Westbrick went 18 of 43 in final game in playoffs against Utah Jazz. George Paul CHOKED in series. Ingles ate PG13's lunch and got in his head. OKC lost series and everyone blamed Melo. You can't take 43 shots and call yourself team player/point guard. It's selfishness and lack of trust.
