I have been following Sheikh Yassir Qadhi for quite a while now and I was genuinely happy to see him speak about our country 🇧🇩 Alhamdulilla. Watched the whole lecture in one sitting and his amazing articulation makes it engaging to listen to him. He explained our country’s history better than my high school history teacher did lol. Jazakallah khair for making this video about Bangladesh. It was really fascinating to have someone talk about the ancient history of Bengal as well as the colonial period. It would've been even greater if there was mention about the Pakistan occupation / exploitation of Bangladesh too, since that is part of the history of the current protests too. The effects of this war is still very much felt to this day since it was quite recent in history. The war isn't really talked about in Pakistani or Indian circles either, so I think it would've been beneficial. Other than that thank you for this video. It's uncommon for Bangladesh to get mentioned in things, so it's appreciated.
Portuguese, Spanish, French, Dutch and British explicitly exploited the peacefully rich Bangladesh. However it got independence from overt British colonial rule. Yet, it's fighting for true independence from neocolonial players of the region. Pray for the humanity Pray for mercy and peace. ❤🌿🇧🇩🍀🌻

Ameen to your duas sheikh. Im so emotional right now. Im a British born Bangladeshi and I spend a lot of time herw in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh, famous for the 360 (approx) sufi sheiks that came from Yemen and settled here around the country. We just witnessed freedom from a long established facist regime and today i hear one of my favourite Sheikhs giving us absolute gems of information about this beautiful country. Jazak Allah sheikh. Sheikh have missled a littlebit: The battle of Plasi happened in 1757 not 1857. So British rule continued in bangal for almost 190 year, not 90 year. But first 100 year (1757 to 1857) the rule was just under the British East India company rule. Later after the 1857 a massive movement was started over the whole India, including Bangladesh which is called 'Sipahi Bidroho' also known as Indian Rebellion. After that the company lost its influence and the British empire (ie Queen Victoria) took control. But the first 100 years was the saddest part of the Bangal History. The company would force the farmer to produce 'Nill' a type of colour instead of foods. Which lead to a massive femine in 1770 that killed one third of the population of the Country. Counry that was once flourished suddenly became one of the poorest in the world.
The land degradation on Bengal by the Britishers was so horrific which isn't talked about much. I still see many vast lands that are so empty with no chance of cultivating any food crops
