The timing has too be perfect for Leon too throw that shot, it has too be set up earlier in the round usually too, don’t sleep on the rest of his striking though
Leon is getting near a prime Izzy lvl of Muay Thai It isn’t just his high kick His body kicks sound like a damn 22 And he probably has some of the best elbows in the ufc next to kattar and Ferguson He does a little fake hook set up sometimes and just lines people with elbows

I mean at the end of the day it helped leon very much because rn he's such a grappler and he was able to defend against usman with the Td defense he developed at AKA and recently he just treated colby like a grappling dummy

He needs to get a chance to see if he can win at welterweight if would be a massive fight in Abu Dhabi. He gave 2 chances for Volk to be champ champ, I hope he gets the chance.
He hasn’t even defended his strap against someone from 155. There’s three people all waiting for their shot before he goes to 170. It would make more sense leon going to 185.
@ricddjdb1219 it's not his fault that Oliveira pulled put. And his first defence against Volk was no easy opponent, tougher than most if not all of the LW division. But I agree at 170 Belal makes the most sense.
@russthebeast9117 he's already beaten 2 of the 3 names you listed. Gaethe is a fresh matchup which makes the most sense of all LWs but he's only on a 2 fight win streak, Oliveira's only on a 1 fight win streak. Arman makes some sense too but he should get 1 more win.
He’s always had wrestling skills. People are acting like he wasn’t one of the best wrestlers from England before the big improvements over the past 3 years. Being the best wrestler in England isn’t hard though we don’t care for it or do it in school

Leon’s wrestling is piss poor. Colby dominated him in the wrestling with 5 min of control time with a fractured limb. Each time Leon tried to reverse Colby would outwit him. I’d put my house on an uninjured Colby or ANY chain wrestler/ Dagistan guy beating Leon I mean ANY.

Could also have an interim fight if they want. The only reason I would doubt the fight happening is because there’s Ramadan before UFC 300. So likely no training for Makhachev.

Both of these guys have improved so much that it becomes one of the most exciting fights you could book. Leons striking was always good and his wrestling has gotten elite. Islams wrestling was always good but his striking has become deadly. If theres a superfight at 300, i hope its this.
A fight between these 2 wouldn't even need a press conference just let them show up and fight both are humble guys and don't need the press conference to talk trash they will let their skills talk

These aren’t little FWs and LWs who you have a massive size advantage on anyway, this is a man who is a lot bigger than you and had quite comfortably dealt with the wrestling of Usman and Colby. And I don’t think I have to point out Leon is a much better striker

This is why Leon is the best fighter to come out of England. We are so limited in the training we can get especially in wrestling. You’re never gonna be the best unless you train with the best and improve your weaknesses. All Leon has done is work and hes fortunate to have an amazing team who welcome other trainers to get the absolute best out of Leon.
Imagine if the British had the same training and wrestling training as the Americans and Russians. The British already do well even though nobody in UK even knows what wrestling is. It’s not even taught in schools or anything

I'd say Aspinal is the best fighter to come out if England. He started training bjj when he was 7 then started wrestling and striking a few years later. He's way more well rounded than Edwards.
You lot are forgetting Michael Bisping, neither Leon nor Aspinall are at his level as best to come out of England. Bisping fought killers and didn’t lose much. And won the belt with one eye whilst still fighting killers before that championship fight.
Nowadays you need 3 or 4 defenses to move up it only hold up their divisions also Islam only defended against featherweight 2 times 1 time on 11 days notic
Look- normally I am totally against guys instantly having double champ bouts; a guy should clear their division before doing a super fight. But I do feel like 300 needs a super fight. And considering Islam did the deed for Volk twice, I kind of feel like he should be given a chance to snag two belts.

Facts. Leon’s wrestling defence plus size and physical advantage cancels out any wrestling advantages Islam supposdly has. He fore sure can’t stand and strike with him, I think Leon wins comfortably.

Leon went to the American Kickboxing Academy to work on his wrestling. The wrestlers have taken over that school, they might as well just change the name now.
