I really want to see Makachev at 170. I feel like 155 is a really tough cut for him which is why some of his fights are closer than it should be. I want to see if at 170 he's more dominant since he isn't drained.

If anything this fight has made Islam even more dangerous as it put him through more adversity. It’s the first cut he has had in the UFC off a glancing blow(think for a second how utterly insane that sounds). It gets all the way to a round 5 and he goes to a deeper level and does an ankle pick swivel takedown and sets up a D'Arce choke and put Dustin to sleep. Islam also outstruck him on the feet. Lots of casuals crying tonight.

Both did awesome. Khabib brought an unfamiliar technique when he arrived, no one was ready. Dustin and fighters today have had years to practice and train for defending against this now. Part of why Islam isn’t dominating quite the same with that alone. Dustin also was arguably at or near his peak physical ability, along with max experience and some final showdown motivation; not much more challenging form of Dustin that Islam could have faced. Hats off to both of them. And kept it honorable.
