HUMAN CONTRABAND “living the life “ means having the greatest time ever which for some of us humans is eating good food and drinking some cold beer !!!
@HUMAN CONTRABAND Whhhaattt? The heck did you get your facts from???? Smoking causes more deaths than alcohol does in 2 years!! That's millions more!! Also, alcohol is NOT bad, it's just like anything else in life, must be enjoyed responsibly!!!
Robert, that has to be the most sanitary pig I've ever seen cooked. Brother, I have eaten them in 23 countries not to mention all through the southern states. Wow, great friendships you have made. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. God bless.
For those who haven’t had it. Roasted pork like this. That crispy/crunchy skin is seriously one of the most satisfying and delightful foods you can eat. I seriously put it on par with eating a steak. Please if you have the opportunity, take it!
My step mom makes piglet but in a stone stove and the skin is good and crunchy but it doesn’t taste that good imo, idk if it’s the way she makes it etc.. she puts it in a bucket with a lot of salt the day before and then she probably puts other spices and then goes into a brick stove that my dad huir with fire around it.
Everyone should take lessons on how these people live you don't see water bottles litter trash all over the place. They love the land and respect it and take care of it. We all should follow on there footsteps.
Hate to break it to you, but Costa Ricans, unfortunately, pollute a lot. They are super nice people, but if they can botch a job, they will. A few examples : if you buy a bottle of Pepsi in a convenience store, the refundable ones cost extra - the same as the 5¢ or 10¢ refund. What do they do? They buy the cheaper, disposable ones and throw it away around said convenience stores or along the roads when they are empty. Construction workers have access to bin or containers for their waste. Yet what do they do? Bury their waste on the beah where the construction takes place - literally 25 feet from the garbage bin. You only find out when big tides erode the beach a little. They still use foam plates/containers, the ones that McDonalds banned in the early 90s as they destroyed the ozone layer. Same with aerosols. Not to mention, due to lax emission laws, countless vehicles that don't make passing grade here are still over there, which is why some very cool but less clean vehicles are on sale in CR. I could go on and on...
I was raised on a farm and that's how it was done and I think today's youth need to learn this also. I think so many people today are so naive about where their food comes from.
Truthbetold exactly all these vegans think they are doing the world a favour by not killing animals. but what about the bacteria they kill by washing their hands, the cockroaches and the insects they kill because they are to scared to let them live. they need to pull their heads in and realise that they arent doing any good deeds
Truthbetold exactly, now really they think that meat is murder and all this other crap but then go kill all these other little insects and stuff. im glad we have channels like these because this is what people need to see. this is he circle of life and has been going on for years and years.
They picked that technique up from Tonga. Before the 1800’s everyone would cook the hogs in the pit in their own way. Tongans were the only ones who made it this way. Great video! Thanks for sharing!!
Absolutely one of the TOP VIDEOS in my opinion! To show us those peoples lives as a comparison to mine is fantastic. I know that i will never go there in my lifetime. But i felt the small connection by being able to listen to them and watch how they live. Rob, I know you love us But Sir I love you for bring me this content. THANK YOU!
This has been an awesome series. Getting to be involved in the culture on that island is better than a vacation where you just stay in a resort. Thank you for bringing that to us.
Yup I saw some Bud Lights hear and there, but what the hell, all the power to him. For heavens sake I drank 2 Twisted Iced Teas while I watched this.......and I know for a fact I am an ok guy lol
The biggest advantage you have on all these other RU-vidrs is just keeping it real!!! !! You’re really good at that and you’ve made it clear it’s all about family and friends!!! No trophies no competitions just having fun at what you do best...., taking care of your family spending time with them and just being you! You’re what I call a great role model keep it up!👍👍
Not sure what was on that mountain top, but Rob was grinning like a possum eating persimmons at the roast! More good times! On a more somber note, I pray that the people of Rota weathered the storm Yutu and all are safe... God bless us all...!
It's so sad how so many people don't understand butchering a hog is how you get pork chops, ribs, BACON and pulled pork. Too many people think a grocery store or restaurant are where these things come from and get all upset when someone butchers their own meat. I'm so glad my parents were not city folks and I was able to understand where my food comes from. I hunt and raise my own meat and my kids have grown up with that and appreciate coming home for dinner rather than having to eat store bought food. I'm glad you keep showing where real food comes from. Too bad RU-vid is run by city folk who don't get it and don't want it shown.
happy person here!!! love the vids...and rota looks like a really awsome place and a even better experiance with the folks over there keep it up rob peace!

It is not about the respect is about freshness of the meats by the time it get to supermarkets the meats are not really fresh. the fresher the meats the better it taste.

You have always gave thanks to the lord & all us folks watching your channel. Your a great roll model in today’s world we all need that . So Thank you for being you .. Stay Safe & God Bless .. ( Blue Gabe is great guy also 🤘👍)
*i love pigs* 😭 but I love this channel more because it teaches how I could survive without technology sometimes it really makes me want to go outdoors more often.
My Mom would ring a bell on the back porch to call us kids to dinner when we were playing in the woods behind our house. Glad I hadn't seen this video back then or I would still be in those woods.
Great way to roast a pig island style! Glad to hear John is on the island with you filming the pig roast! It is a Beautiful way to live! Thank you for a great video, to bad you was not able to get a island deer! Love your channel, God Bless your family!
i love how the pigs are free range, no antibiotics, eats all natural food. and the fact that they only kill for the purpose of eating , not for trophy or any kind of ego-boosting bullshit. i also love the island life. i lived in Hawaii for 16 years, and parties like this are the best when all 100 of the family are busily serving one another, all are welcome and smiling. Aloha!
Amazing..i missed this video..it was worth every second to watch it twice!lol... You are a Genius Mr. Ropata Arlington!..in a-split second you solved a hole host off problems by simply grabbing that wire. WOW!..👍💯😎. love your videos .
I have to admit the pig scene at the beginning was upsetting but that's just the circle of life & i understand that, respect to everyone in Rota and stay safe!
its a LOT different when you raise an animal knowing its to feed yourself, family, friends, and any other loved ones compared to raising an animal as a pet.
I raised a wild pig but treated it like a dog. When it was time to put her down I cried. But any other pig I'll gladly blow a hole through it. Lesson for today for everyone. Dont ever name your pig. Dont let your kids play with them. And most important.... dont feel bad when it feeds your family and friends. Mahalo ke Akua for the Pua'a. Aloha!
Rob, when we do suckling pig, we use a bar with an old bicycle rim welded on. Then we attach rope and run it into my Mom's old wringer washer to turn it. works great!
@@craignelson9045 vegans are weird and very wasteful almost disrespectful to just let an animal die for no reason so yea this community (the same one that your spending your valuable time watching) probably feels different about vegans . Wow what a surprise
mja12685 lions also kill each other and kill other meat-eating animals, do you think we should do those things too? Yes everything does die, but do you think that they should be tortured or abused or slaughtered? Do you know the torture and abuse animals go through for meat, dairy, eggs and animal products?
Hey Robert welcome back to the CNMI to you and the family I am so happy you know my causin Pete Hocog my over at Rota Pete senior is my first causin and a good hunter.
